Branches displaying unique characteristics are called "sports". Completely new varieties are sometimes derived and patented from these. One is the Smith Red Valencia orange with reddish skin and red flesh found on a regular Valencia orange tree in California.
I recently bought this tree. It doesn't have fruit yet. But now I'm worried mine is not legit cause I don't remember seeing the branch with the lines. I'm gonna got check again. Stay tuned from Miami Florida
I have two tigers in Buckeye, AZ. The younger one that is more shaded is 8 months old and has the less stripey fruit and the other one looks normal. I'm waiting to see if there is any difference in the taste. I also have a VDB and brown turkey.
Thanks for watching and giving your location. That's what I'm waiting to do, is see if the fruit tastes different. Sometimes a branch growing different like this is how new varieties are started.
Thanks for watching and giving your location. It's red inside and has a slight berry flavor. It's a pretty fruit growing on the tree with it's yellow and green stripes.
It's not really lack of sun, because that branch actually gets more sun. Just once and a while one branches will not have stripes. It just happens once and a while.
I enjoy your videos.

Only the new growth branches have the stripes on them. After the branches age a little, then the stripes disappear.
Fig just explode with growth when composted with cow manure, give it 3-6 inches, away from the trunk though, stand back.
