BTW this episode is a good case study for what you can gain if you make a lot of scouts. We only have the information that Na'Ba had taken as many losses as they have (including the bump with Asphodel) because of the hard work of our Eyes of Goblin.
BTW archery can be more effective at doing damage vs shielded cavalry in Dominions 6 than it was in 5, in that the mounts don't have shields and a lot of missile hits will be on the mount. (Though the extra HP from the mount mean it takes more missile fire to kill the unit than it did in Dominions 5). But against Knights of the Chalice, mount hits but being affected by a shield are mostly relevant for crossbows, since the mounts have 21 protection and thus can ignore most archery short of the Great Bows on those Adite Archers.
I still desire lower game audio. The subpar sound effects are so peaky as to require lowering volume, making Demon and Darkside difficult to hear. Anyway, thanks for the episode. I like seeing games with growing tough opponents for the protagonists.
That might be something Lucid can control in editing, since it's a separate track in the recording. I think the main problem this time was probably that my audio and Cookies' were a lot quieter than Lucid's for some reason.
@@DemonsthenesDominions This is a common problem for me with Dominions games. You also have a very mellow, soft way of speaking, which requires me to focus on your words. This is a me problem, but I'm always pushing soft spoken people to add some force to their voice, it's the quiet ones who have the things to say we need to hear! I notice you say you feel bad for having to attack human players. I would hope no one would take it personally, it's just a game!
Naba's troop composition is surprising to me. I was expecting lots of cheap archers to counter the mari xbows. And something hard hitting enough to hurt knights. Addite Archers are not what you want here. Size 4 spearmen would have done significantly better, I think. I was also expecting more stealthy raiders. 1 squad of 40 camels feels inefficient. Naba needs to be drawing significant forces away from the front line if they want to win this war.
Lucid, you mentioned several times that Mari should have tried to end that war, but my question is where else are they going to go? The neighbors I could see are Shinu, larger and able to play similar or worse raid games, Ulm, who is known large and nearly bordering north and south. I saw a Pyrene province, but that looked about as thin a choked border as Naba. So where should they have gone? They got a war and they need to grow, so might as well prosecute it after some success. I can see all the reasons what they are doing is a bad idea but what are the alternatives? Edit: And right after the comment it zooms out enough that the Pyrene border is bigger than I thought. Joys of not waiting to comment.
Yes though Pyrene has a quite heavy bless on their knights, presumably to avoid getting rushed, and I'm not sure Marignon would find that war easy even with a big numbers advantage.
Yesssssss. I am so bad with Shin this is so fun to watch. I would definately try to ruin Naba's future if I was Mari even if it cost me the game. Good on them. I get vicious when attacked like this haha.
can we get it a bit slower? i know you guys need time for it but the cuts and watch a battel in 1 sec. not showing the loses realy on any side just sucks imo and i like 1 or 1/2 turn a week more if it means good game cover and not just big fights
I get diagonal wars from other players against me way more than should be rational. Very annoying. I've even had nations like LA Ulm prosecute them as 1st war because reasons, getting themselves killed but stalling my ability to do any gainful wars. Also common to get coalitioned by diagonal wars when nowhere near throne win as nations that don't scale really hard (like Mekone). Players throwing any hope they have of winning just to make my position a bit worse. Hate that stuff.
I think usually they're expecting to win the war and get some easy land and just incorrect about the outcome. That's kinda fundamental to Dominions combat; usually players won't take fights they know will wipe their army, so somebody ends up being wrong about the outcome.
@@DemonsthenesDominions If it were that (which happens sometimes), it bothers me less. What annoys me is for reasons similar to Lucid: even supposing that they (somehow) win the war despite an extremely predictable + resisted spot and take all the land, they would STILL be sitting ducks and immediately punished by halfway decent players...good chance they'd border at least six players by then. The other time this happens and it's stupid are early coalitions. Players insist some MA Ermor or water nation is such a problem that I should fight a corner war to contain them. And apparently, other players bite on that plea, making sure they will never be competitive in the game because again...win or lose, they're getting very little out of it at best in most cases. Video already mentioned exceptions like birds.
I made a comment in the previous video and also big info dump on Lucid's channel, but ultimately boils down to this war was the most logical one for me to take based on everyone else who surrounds me

I appreciate you fighting a years-long heroic war for information clarity against Lucid "Scouts? I don't even know what those are" Tactics
19:00 "I hate you, I hope you never play dominions again. Do you want to sign a non-aggression pact"
Never change, lucid, never change ❤😂
So, you are getting more scouts in this game than Lucid ever had in all his Dominions games ever. Nice.
I'm starting to think Lucid might disapprove of diagonal wars...

Yeah game sounds are way too loud on these videos

Goblins are ever the opportunists
Diagnol.. is that more cattywhompas or kittycorner? lol

Well i would say this: wars are expensive even if you win. So if you win you want a good reward... not having an nearly undefendable territory.

Audio only coming through on the left channel
oh no...
Typo in the title "Diagnol" -> Diagonal
fixed :)

oh and maybe just maybe let the other one talk to end(with out cut)? or with out a cut at all (like i say i love the indept tech for any fight)

Although that said I didn't fight it well and it turned into a mess for me unfortunately
