@@tenpoundfortytwo I Hope they make it even more difficult. let there be demand for people in the game who are good at a specific part, that's what real space would be. you could hire other players who can get you through, and those players get to capitalise on their skills. they explained that ships with more weight will be bounced around way less than more agile smaller ships. so that evens out. in other words, the experience will be less unstable and wobbly in a big freighter.
Actually going through the worm hole looks awesome, but I really wish they kept the gates in. I dont know why they insist that it doesnt align with the lore. The UEE having gates around major jump points to open and close them and regulate things makes total sense to me. Not to mention the gates just look sick
As much as I like gates (because I grew up with StarGate) needing gates sort of invalidates the option of finding alternate routes or uncharted jump points. I mean, you could do both, but then it becomes sort of a gimmick, it's more consistent nedding OR not needing them but not both, and NOT having gates means you can have anything "anywhere".
I like the idea of the risk of using the Wormhole and also that it may require some level of skills to go through. I like this idea of not using it like an elevator and thats it, you are done. The risk make you think twice if it is worth it or not, and also makes it more real in the fact of its a space thing! not human made

Holy sh1t man need a God Damn 4k projector ! The sounds of the fuselage, the deep bass reverberating in pulses this is TOO GOOD, it gave me LSD flashback stunning.
So the jump begins at about 1:30, but if you include all the spooling and aligning and stuff, it's closer to 1:00. Then it finishes at around 4:20. That's around 3 minutes of just flying through a funnel. Reminds me of Tempest, the arcade game from 1981. Are we sure this isn't just a flashy loading screen? 3 minutes seems excessive.
Think about how much time it sometimes takes to load into a system and then consider that a new system NEEDS to be loaded in by the time you exit the jump point. High entity counts ain't cheap. 😂

Oh I like that it drops you out good ways away from the actual jump point. Gonna make blockading anything inbound a hassle, leaving is a different matter clearly. Looks great and can't wait to see what they do next.

I just hope they don't make it so difficult that it just drains your attention span.
It looks that way, but I don't think the game is actually loading anything during that time. Since everything streams in real-time, they could have made the transition instantaneous (go in hole, exit on other side) but wanted to have an actual gameplay element to jumping.
