    Those on a budget could always build a slider, as they can be made pretty cheaply (good for UA-camrs just starting out, perhaps), but man, that slider is *very* cool. Great design.
    I'd like to see your lighting gear in a future vid!

  • @illusivec
    @illusivec 8 років тому +89

    730$ Seriously? For 2 pieces of carbon fiber tube, 2 injection molded plastic pieces, 1 CNC milled aluminum disk and a few meters of GT2 belt? Dude this thing is worth no more than 150$. And that's mostly just the price of the CF tubes. Since there is no actual need to use CF, I'd use black anodized aluminum and sell this thing for 100$. And that'd still be a huge markup.
    Damn I should enter video equipment market...

    Does mkb wants to be a movie maker? Now a days he kind of obsessed with quality and not releasing enough video, which i would be perfectly fine if the videos were little more interesting. Sometime i feel that he is wasting his effort on things that dont matter.
    I know he have degree in business and he is doing a damn good job at his promotion and collaboration which i feel he is being good guy giving others support like austin and uravgconsumer

      +Infernus 25 well, if you want your channel to be taken seriously, you might want to get serious with the supplies needed to make quality videos, and sometimes that comes with a big price. however, i agree this may be a bit intimidating for starter youtubers, maybe 'youtube gear on a budget' could be his next episode, i'm sure he'd have plenty of ideas.

      Well I'm not exactly rich but I still watch these videos out of interest and future ideals. He still tells you the uses of a general slider and if you really want one you should just Google 'cheap sliders'. A more expensive setup isn't always a better one anyway, it's just preference.
      Also these videos are centered around the tech that he specifically uses.

      +Brick Tamland For that price, you get insane build quality that will survive almost any abuse you put it through. You can buy $150 sliders (like I have) but you have to take much better care of it.

    • @BloodSprite-tan
      @BloodSprite-tan 8 років тому +5

      +Brick Tamland it's carbon fiber.
      carbon fiber is fucking expensive cuz it's light and strong.
      you could make something for less than 100$ that would work the same. it just wouldn't be so portable or anything.

    • @jaxfilm

    hello MKBHD, i really love your video. i've started to watch you 5 years ago and it inspired me to make a video 3 years ago. I want to be as good as you ( if I can't do better) and I've seen your youtube gear list. my main problem is... your gear is too expensive for a small youtuber like me. is it possible to cover the "budget" oriented gear? Thanks a lot mate. See you in the next one. Peace

    H.264, ProRes, Uncompressed RGB? What codec do you export to before uploading to UA-cam? or now that you're a FCPX user do you use the built in uploader?

    Can you show us what you use to achieve those awesome pan/tilt shots at events like CES? You could be using a monopod and just moving it, but those shots look so smooth. I'm guessing you're using a tripod slider, maybe with a similar video head for rotation/tilt.
