Just remember that America thought the Soviet Union managed to design a super advanced air superiority fighter called the Mig-25 that was somehow high quality and high quantity at the same time. America took soviet propaganda and US lack of intelligence and designed the counter to a plane with imaginary abilities. The plane we created was the F-15 Eagle.
The F-15 is notable, among other things, for being one of only 2 modern fighter jets with kills on record to never have been shot down, with an impressive combat record of 102 kills and 0 losses. The only other modern fighter jet with kills on record to never have been shot down is the Chinese J-7 (AKA “Fishcan”), with a record of 1 kill and 0 losses. Russia also used to have a fighter jet with no losses on record, until they decided to go to war with Ukraine. You can thank General Dynamics/Raytheon and Saint Stinger for that one 😉

NO ITS LOCKHEED MARTIN!"
I'm a ukrainian student that study physics in university for years, my will to work in military industrial complex as engineer is bigger than my will to live
Due to recent (hell not even recent... what a joke they are) events I can totally see why.
Slava Ukraini.
May we find better ways to glass Moscow off of the fucking map.
Permanently.

But that was created by McDonnell Douglas, which would be unfortunately absorbed by Boeing...
"Unfortunately be absorbed by Boeing"
As someone with family in Boeing, Lockheed was lucky that Boeing took that particular bullet. McDonald Douglas as a company was filled with financial and engineering illiterates by the time they were on the verge of bankruptcy. Outside of getting to be parts supplier for MORE aircraft, MacDonald Douglas has been a net negative for Boeing.
@@internetzenmaster8952 There is an excellent argument to be made that MacDac took over Boeing from the inside, then ruined it.
@@jrdougan My parents and their friend from college, all of whom work/worked for Boeing (two have passed away) can confirm that MacDac's influence on Boeing ruined the company. Wasn't helped by the fact there's been a bunch of Boeing CEOs who think moving the Boeing HQ closer to the swamp of DC is good for the company instead of, oh, _keeping it in Washington State so upper management is promising the goddamn sun and moon to the Pentagon out of earshot of the engineers who can and have told management in the past that: "no, we literally cannot do this, reality doesn't work that way!"

Rare Biden W
Eisenhower didn't mention how cool the military industrial complex would turn out to be in his speech.
POV: Boeing as soon as they try to push a new fighter
Boeing: Atleast we still have the bombers, right?
Grumman who hasn’t made anything big since the 90s: not quite.
Pentagon: AYO BOEING! WE NEED NEW PARTS KITS FOR THE B52!
Boeing: So do you want replacement parts or _evil grin_ upgrades?
Pentagon: ....Tell me more.
Technically it's only the Orion capsule on Artemis/SLS that's made by Lockheed - the core stage is Boeing, the solid boosters are made by Northrop, and the current second stage is made by ULA based on the originally-Boeing Delta IV second stage. Still a triumph of the MIC though 😎
Bringing the MIC together to finally create the Rods from God that Bush denied us. The only military related mistake of his presidency.
And the transfer stage is made by Europe 🥰
I can feel the power of the military industrial complex coming inside of me.
All the Raytheon boys been real quiet since this came out

Understanding our role. We have passively took control for the greater good of the world for generations and it's amazing to see! And I don't mean "control" just influence and understanding and for that to be all you need to give as a American is amazing. we have developed technologys to cross the Sea before anyone else. I love how give me a man after midnight is basically the theme song for Lockheed on the internet.
Fun fact: It's called Lockheed Martin because they have Martians locked in their labs who design their weapons.

Dear Americans, value and cherish your army and defence industry. Even with all controversy in mind, this is the main thing that keeps you and your civilian future safe in your country. We messed up and did not value this enough, and have to pay a much higher cost now. Cheers from Ukraine.
