Once we were soldiers... once we were young. That's a motivating fucking line there. Seriously, it got me to stop dicking around and walk my dog like I'd been telling myself I would.
like everything else it's not a real war is not heroic feat is the pain and suffering that is being mutilated bodies start to rot when more people living God forbid anyone else to experience it! sorry for the translation ...
Real war ? You fucking serious ? I have never been to war, and i hope i will never go into one... Go watch some real footage on liveleak... Find any war.... it doesn't matter... Bosnian war, Croatian war of independence, syrian war, first and second chechen war... anything.... go watch some real war executions of soldiers... liveleak will show you what is real war... This movie is nothing more than an american cartoon...
I am happy because you did not troll me and you did not start a pointless argument. Thank you. Please enjoy the grand music. Oh and I suggest Nocturnal Rites. Power Metal On!
InfernalDreamGuitar Or... UN: Somalia is a anarchist shithole, lets give them some aid. Somalia: We're killing anything that breaths. Including UN. UN: US we need your military for a peacekeeping mission in Somalia. US: Okay. But I do like the never aging joke about US going after oil even though since the 2003 invasion of Iraq we've been less dependent on foreign oil. Especially in the Middle East.
Wade Davis Dude, the UN doesn't send you for peacekeeping missions in Somalia. They are not heavily armed people unlike US :) Why should UN send suchs troops, wouldn't be a waste of time and money ? :)
InfernalDreamGuitar Someone has clearly never heard of Operation Restore Hope... 'Cause the UN sending the U.S. for peacekeeping missions in Somalia is exactly what happened.
that scene with the two Rangers fighting off hundrets of militias to save one pilot is really epic... And now i hate these damn militias even more seeing how they killed them and made the kids drag the bodies through the streets. 19 Americans - over 1900 militias... still 19 casualties too much.
I love this movie and when i saw this video I had a wish to cry the movie is so touchy and the song I think its the best video on youtube ....Its amazing!! Great job.
How could this ever get negative votes ? Is this the respect you show on the internet ? May your Friends and your son rest in piece. But yes, Sabaton is a great band, their songs are emotionally and so much more than music. Saw thenthis august in Wacken. EPIC
Every war is cruel, but people cant just say that war should stop it is part of our humanity and there is nothing we can do about it except to keep on fighting. We should remember those who had fought and died for our country and our freedom.
Remember David Shughart and Gary Gordon. Its easy to talk about being a hero, but when the time comes to decide, just few can do what they have to do. And they would not see themselves as heros - they would just say: its nothing. These people are real heros. Like Shughart and Gordon; they knew they will not live through, yet they knew it had to be done.
I love this song although its about an American it drove me to join the british army and one tour of afgan under the belt and love it never looked back. "Though hell of high water"
@TheMatt6574 yes they did get the guy captured by the militia leader. His name was Mike Durant, and the militia released him after roughly 2 weeks in captivity.
True war movies are cool and are interesting, I love to watch certain war movies, but they either glorify war and make it look like it's the best life ever, show that it is terrible and should be a horror of life, or they mix both. Such as Saving Pvt. Ryan, it gave the thrill of combat and action, yet it showed how in war you don't get to try again if you die your just dead and it doesn't matter who you are you can't stop it. I play my war games because their fun not because I love war and I like killing. Hell, I got sad once just playing Dawn Of War because I would train soldiers and send them to fight. It was sad that even if they were just computer programs if one died I just got another. I fell every one who has fought in wars should be respected as those who gave their life for what ever they believed in. Even if was against us they died for what they thought was right. It doesn't matter what race they where or what religion they where. The world should be controlled by every one. Yet I fear our first contact with other sentient organisms of the galaxy we will start a war with them and it scares me. I just wish the world could be a place for any one and anything. They say war protects, well it does, but it only protects us not the brave men and women who fight. It makes me cry that humans can slaughter each other for such petty reasons. And what of those who get caught in the cross fire, they die as innocents. The way America is right now is not a help. We glorify war and recruit people fresh out of high school to go and die for reasons they don't have to die for. Movies like black hawk down show the true face of war and help try to stop it. If you wish to hear me go into further depth about this go to my Chanel.
that would hurt the the civilians and not crime, a criminal can get guns on the black market, and can also use a sword or somethin like that. We also need firearms because if the government ever becomes a monarchy or a tyranny, the founders of america made the second ammendment so we can carry to take our country back.
I agree with you. Though wars are unfortunate and generally to be avoided if at all possible, if you've the bad luck to be in one and die well...At least you can take solace knowing your death meant something.
Once we were soldiers... once we were young.
That's a motivating fucking line there. Seriously, it got me to stop dicking around and walk my dog like I'd been telling myself I would.
There's also a book called We Were Soldiers; it was made into a movie by Mel Gibson. If you haven't seen it, get it.
Proud to be Swedish and proud to know the band members pesonally. They're great guys and they make epic music.
How you know them Personally
"Only the dead have seen the end of war." - Plato
- Michael Scott
@@CarlosRios1 It's Patton actually
Definitely one of my favourite songs by far. Sabaton = Best band ever.
It's movies like black hawk down that I love not only are they cool to watch but it shows real war
and it is based on real events wich makes it even better
Real war? Unless you've been in a war you dont have a clue what "real war" is...
I mean it gives a visual and yes I agree with you.
like everything else it's not a real war is not heroic feat is the pain and suffering that is being mutilated bodies start to rot when more people living God forbid anyone else to experience it! sorry for the translation ...

Rest in peace all those who bleed and died protecting freedom , and our country .
I am happy because you did not troll me and you did not start a pointless argument. Thank you. Please enjoy the grand music. Oh and I suggest Nocturnal Rites. Power Metal On!
This song creates a unique air of melancholy
Thank you Sabaton and thank you to all those who have served. Your heroes.
American: Hey, do you have oil?
Derp: No, why?
American: I thought you might need some democracy.

Wade Davis I would like this comment 1 million times if I could. No excuse for such ignorance.

SSGmcrill My nazi friend, peace never came without looting. Did the Nazi or Soviet army brought peace without raping or stealing the wealth of people?
Joakim is such an amazing vocalist.

19 Americans - over 1900 militias... still 19 casualties too much.
Those were army delta and they got the MOH for that
American courage at its best..No matter what a ranger never leaves a fallen comrade!

Happy remembrance day
Charlie Cleaver I don't think "Happy" is the correct term for "celebrating" Remembrance day.
Sabaton
It is interesting to hear them sing songs like Ghost Division and hear such national Germanic pride. Quite a turn around.
I agree with you. Though wars are unfortunate and generally to be avoided if at all possible, if you've the bad luck to be in one and die well...At least you can take solace knowing your death meant something.
