- Hypixel skyblock has had its fair share of random bad thingies happening, but this exploit would lead to trillions of coins seemingly created out of nowhere. For comparison, the richest players on the server barely have 10 billion coins. What caused this exploit, and how would the admins fix this catastrophic catastrophe?

I saw this go down, I was buying seeds for my wheat minion when the price of seeds went to 504 million and I was like “I AM GONNA GET BANNED” so I quickly closed the bazaar and re logged to find nothing. It was a weird experience but now I understand

Thanks to skill and so on it isn’t really that pay to win, it’s pay to get coins but even that is based on the economy. If everyone decided to drive all items you can buy with gems down to 0 coins, you wouldn’t be able to buy any coins.

The server was not very good at handling coins because of integer overflow. It's relatively fixable (by using longs) but would be significantly more laggy.
Update for more information:
A default "int" type in java has a limit to about 2 billion. Longs are twice as big (in bytes), but binary grows exponentially, bringing the long limit up to something trillion. This kind of thing is very fixable, but imagine every user on the server that has played hypixel x 4 bytes in memory (could also be solved with an unsigned integer, in non technobabble terms a data type that doesn't waste memory on negative numbers, but I think java does not have this built in). I believe the bank had a larger limit because it uses a larger data type, as it doesn't get queued (accessed) as often as the purse.

Amazing video I’ve been waiting for someone to make. Alpha Hypixel Network will always have a special place in my heart, but I still can’t believe they let this get through.
I’ve actually used that expoilt, however I didn’t even realise it was an expliot, and here’s the story. Once I was trying to selling some mushrooms to bazaar, and I thought hmmmmm. This button allows me to choose the price for it, and put in like 11600000000000 ish and it actually worked, and thought I’d get the coins. But because of my stupid co-op member, he canceled the order.

You only get the coins if someone buys it off of you, which they wouldn't, even on the other server because you can already buy it for cheaper prices on there.

Yes, it includes the fact that they are the smallest group on the server, but simon mentioned that the MVP++ group has the smallest *percentage* of hacks, exploits etc, not the smallest *amount*
although this might be inaccurate due to people being on multiple accounts like you mentioned

I have calculated many stuff in skyblock, and i have calculated the worth of so many items. To cerebrate that there was an exploit that could duplicate the worth of those items in an instant is non compos mentis.
