Getting Scuba certified was one of my all time favorite things in this world. I am always trying to find better ways to capture the wonder of this sport. This is the most amazing set up I have seen. Those scooters are the bomb!
This setup is wild for scuba diving! Going back and forth from the action cam footage to the 360 footage was crazy to see the difference in perspective!
Oh man, you guys would work great together! He's got an X3 on hand out there and I'm sure he would be up for taking you guys on a dive. He also does certifications if you haven't gotten yours yet!
Quite soft when it comes to sharpness, its maybe a nice tool for instagram to make some new kind of uw videos. Maybe as an extra tool, paired with a good camera, but the look is cool I give it that, but its sooo soft...
Hi David. As usual awesome and informative videos. I might do some diving in connection with a visit to Australia. I have previously used an older GoPro for diving (without diving cage). I now have the Insta360 One RS but might purchase the Insta360 X3. The perspective in the Insta360 X3 shots are unique, however I was not impressed with resolution and stich line seems to be more visible under water. I guess solution is to bring two cameras, however do you think the quality of the X3 is high enough to only invest in this. It would be rather expensive to purchase several cams and cages for one diving experience.
The Insta 360 is, of course, awesome; but I have an old (4 yrs.) RYLO 360, with a dive case, that does cancel out the pole. That said, everything about the Insta footage is better. But... but... for a Dad who's pinchin' pennies (living in SD is 'spensive), the Rylo is still going as my couple-minutes-of-a-vacation-video camera. Funny coinkidink... I also haven't dived since my certification ('87, what!?) because of silt and kelp off LJShores. Keep doin' what your doin'.
I don't know if I've been doing it the wrong way but my experience with that camera and the dive case has been horrible. I bought it since I was going on a cruise and I love snorkeling and the footage was so bad. I still regret not taking my GoPro 11 on that trip .
Try going deeper than 10 meters. Go to 20, 30. Be interested to see how that fares. That'll be different from the usual action camera videos about Insta360 x3 dive case too. Most action cam channel only dive shallow, where filming is easy. And did you film the whole time? Or had to film shorter bursts to avoid overheating?
Filmed for the full hour dive. Hit record on the decent and stopped on the way up. No issues with overheating at those depths. Even in hawaii it was pretty chilly at 60ft
Great video!!! Is there a case for it that is rated for deeper than 60 feet? I have been using GoPro and have wanted to try the Insta360 but I tend to dive deeper than 60 feet.
What selfie stick were you using? I'm seeing that the Insta360 Selfie sticks are not for use in water, especially salt water, since the salt can rust the extensions of the stick. Anyone have any issues? Or will a good long term soak do the trick? I've got the Insta360 "action" selfie stick and kind of a shame if it can't see any underwater "action", considering the name!
Great video! Did you have to remove the dive case somehow in post production afterwards? Mine was in dive case mode for my underwater scooter adventure in Roatan this week and also diving in the Bahamas this week. All of the footage on my replay screen shows the dive case in it still. I know I did the settings correctly and my stick was perfectly positioned too.

Look like an awesome accessory to have.
Happy belated Anniversary!
Thanks for bringing us along on the scuba expedition
Aw thanks! Maui was a very solid anniversary location!
Yet ANOTHER awesome video. Thanks David.
I snorkel here at Makena Landing almost every morning! Got some great shots with my insta360 also! I need to go check out that old tank!
Makena is a beautiful spot. Going to give Glenn a call for sure!!

Love the business card 😂 also scuba diving scares the shit out of me but I am a wuss with underwater diving stuff.
Ya gotta do it! It's legit one of the coolest experiences in the world!!!
@@DavidManningvlog I’m going to Chile next week so maybe I’ll do it down there a couple days before I fly back so I don’t get the bends and die

That is some really awesome, fun footage. What an awesome trip!
Incredible! Would luv see you a vid on motovoling as I just started.
Thank you for the video. I'd love to see camera settings for underwater use like you did with the GoPro :D

Brilliant!
I can’t believe you hide that beautiful hair under a hat so often 😵💫😵💫

Nice. I have to sell my old camera
Can you take still photos from the footage underwater using snap or something? How is the quality of such image?
Yes, there is a snap feature. I haven’t used it underwater yet but it works fine above water.
Did you tie the selfie stick & x3 to anywhere on your body? worried it will be lost in water...thanks
Love this. Thanks so much.
Hey, do you sell any of your "Be a good human" stickers or merchandise? I love it.
Heck yes! Head to shopdavidmanning.com👍

@@DavidManningvlog Sweet man. Appreciate the reply! Thanks very much!
No new x4 for this year? I purchased the action4 but I am in the market for a 360 cam. Wanting improvements on the image quality.

Any idea of which is the best lens protection for my x3 360
For out of the water, the sticky lens guards are the best option you've got!
What monopod did you use underwater? did it have any issues of rust and damage?
Hi, ya at about 7:42 in video you said you put a link in the description to Glenn’s Instagram, but I could only find yours and not Glenn’s?
Fixed it!
Shame they didn’t make it to fit the 1inch RS 360 camera that quality would have been nice

They are fine under water. Rinse/soak in freshwater when done
What stick do you use for the dive case? Im new to instaworld but wanted a longer stick for my scuba.
How expensive is the set up.
