Hello Debbie, for me, this sing really hits hard because I was always told I was a loser sadly from my father. I never shared my music with really anyone cause I could still hear his voice inside my head. Until one day, a friend begged me to share my songs. I created my own UA-cam channel, and 3 weeks later, he passed away. I was devastated 😢 😭 and composed a song for him. Looked at my wife and said if I get 20 views, I did my job. Happily, it's over 4K, so I did my job. Thank you for your honesty and love for music but above all life. God bless you.
I'm glad for you that your dad's 'and others' perspective isn't yours! Happy for you that you are also a Winner!!! 💯👌 I'v just listend to your's for you'r friend on your channel. Beautiful indeed!.
First time hearing this song brought me to tears. Dozens of listens later, it still does. Not only is is performed so beautifully by Floor, but the song itself is incredibly uplifting and well put together, so huge props to Tim Akkerman for writing this anthemic masterpiece.
you are a compassionate, sympathetic, enthusiastic lady who, despite your illness, takes the time to entertain us. so dear Debby, I dedicate this song to you because you are also a winner. 😊❤
@@thequestionqueens Like I said last time, just keep being you because YOU'RE a Winner! And, believe me, that is obvious to every single one of your subscribers, I'll wager! /// And tomdog, 68 year old man checking in here: same story here!
The thing also about this performance that broke Tim, is that at the end, you can hear him say "verdomme, Floor!" (loosely translated as "damn you, Floor!"), because Tim had stated that he never cries, or if he does, it's almost never.. to the point that the album this song is from is called "Lion's Don't Cry". Floor made him cry with this performance, which is why he ended up saying that he now has to change the album title, because lions do cry.
When Floor sang "Now raise your hands"... I lost it. My son is also wheelchair bound, adult, now 41 years old. Born healthy, but with the mental capacity of a toddler, having contracted meningitis at one week old. As a result, a hydrocephalus developed, for which a permanent drain was placed, again with new damage to the brain, to drain the excess cerebrospinal fluid and pressure, also a stroke. We've had it, we thought...wrong! Shortly afterwards another inflammation, as well as an abscess deep in the brain that they could not reach to remove. He was eventually 'given up' after months. We as doctors can do nothing more for him we were told and he would go to a nursing home to die, because almost half of his brain is gone, he was 5 months old at the time. But stubborn as I am, my 'first' child,' my love, my care… for better or for worse. All of this resulted in Edwin being unable to speak, he is blind, cannot walk, he can only use his right side of his body, and his bones also became fused, for which he had to be operated on several times. Despite all of this, he celebrates his life to the fullest, he is a cheerful and happy person. He loves music, especially Hard Rock. Although the scars are still there, i have so much fun watching him swing and rock in his wheelchair! So yes, he is definitely a winner in his own way.....Like many!!! Wow, reading this back i cried......unbelievable realy that Edwin is such a happy child in adult body!

Hi Debbie, 73 years old hippie from the Netherlands reporting in: This is what Beste Zangers is all about ... No EGO's ... just love and empathy for your fellow singer ... This makes Beste Zangers a unique show ...!!! 🤘👍
I think that now, after 4 performances of Floor in Beste Zangers, you start to understand the impact she had on everyone present in the show, as well as the audience. I am patiently waiting for you to reach the others, because I know that your schedule is much more crowded now :)

it's Tim Ackerman who wrote it for his brother. and the next time when another waterfall of tears comes just let it go dear, i'm an adult guy of 44 years old and she got me every time i'm crying every time at this song like a baby i can't see anything of the video because my eyes are overflowing with tears and that's okay, because music is emotion, I have the same with Nightwish Shoemaker Live I kept watching the video of Hellfest 2022 and AFTER the piece with the telling voice in the background as Floor then again I'm breaking up , my head is emptying and there's no more tears inside , I don't think I've ever managed to see the whole video , I can only listen and cry , and I don't even know what or about Floor sings but that woman just breaks me

Unfortunately, I can't do that again as I'm already subscribed since she already earned my admiration many wonderful reactions ago and she has proven in all of them that she's also a 'winner'
It is a wonderful thing to see a song resonate so strongly with someone. I know this is just a UA-cam channel and I have never met you, but this reaction gives me a sense of knowing you so much better. Thanks Debbi, and I am very happy that you have won, at least, the mental battle. Stay strong, love from South Africa.
I always feel like she is singing to me. I don't have any health issues but we all have things to overcome in life. Letting go of stuff is hard but it helps a lot.
Debby, you are a winner too! there will be always things to overcome, and everybody has a backpack, but you DO NOT have to take its with you every time!, keep up the good spirit!
Isn’t Floor every as bit as beautiful of a person, as her singing voice? His name is Tim Akkerman, Dutch singer songwriter, in the band Di-rect. Knew this would make you “crah” ;)
This one is amazing. "About love I don't know a thing" is even more emotional (for me at least). Very nice that you do the reactions with intro/outro, those add so much emotion and context to the performance itself. Cheers from Buenos Aires! PS: This "little thing you can do" you do it very well and the world is a better place just for it.
In an earlier episode, Tim said he doesn't cry, to the point where he named his album, "Lions don't cry"...Floor was sitting in the background taking notes....'Oh, yeah, big boy?'
Every time I see this video with the intro, I cry like a baby! This time was no exception. Floor's ability to convey emotion in her voice (and make you FEEL it) is truly superhuman!!!
Woooh. Floor knew she upped the pressure to perform this not only well and the right flow, but in the correct spirit to honor the song writer and his family. Thanks Debbie for your grit too
When Tim said Floor ruined the title of his album, he refers to his latest album was titled "Lions don't cry", and then there he was, crying at the end of the song.
Thanks for finding and reacting to the long versions of these. They're much more impactful when you get the full context! Most reactors do the performance only, which is still great but you can't possibly feel the same emotions that way. 👍🤟
There no one who can tell an emotional and passionate story like Floor - she cuts right through all the defences you have. She is truly unique and precious to the world. And great reaction, by the way 👍
The young man that wrote this song is: Tim Akerman...(at least I think that's the spelling...) But it is a magnificent song and Floor does it SO well! I'll be 65 by the end of March 2023, and this song tears me up too. I have played this at the VA retirement house for the Veterans there and told each of them that they have my undying respect and gratitude for the sacrifices they made for the USA. So, this song reaches and touches a very WIDE audience. Thank you Tim for writing something like this from your heart.
Hello Debbie, all your reactions on Floor Jansen are great and you're not finished yet, because there will be more! You should look out for 3 other songs from "Beste Zangers": "Mama" (for Samantha Steenwijk), "About love I don't know a thing" (for Ruben Annink), but the most special one is the song that Emma Heesters is singing for Floor(!), called "Strong", a song which Floor wrote for her own mother, who suffers rheumatism. Keep the tissues on hand.
I knew you where going to feel it to the bones. And its fantastic performance but it makes it even more emotional with knowing the story of the song first
Yay! More Floor on Beste Zangers! I love all of her performances. She is just so versatile...and really shows what she can do outside the metal realm on the show. It also really helped to get her exposure in her home country...surprisingly, not many people had heard of her prior to her appearance on Beste Zangers. I assume that you will eventually be reacting to every last one of her songs on the show...you won't be disappointed. Cheers!
Greetings and Love from Germany again 💚...great reaction video as always. One little thing: ..when Floor say's 'raise your hands' you raise your hands..hihi ☺...can't wait to see you react to Emma Heesters from 'Beste Zangers'. She sings the song 'Strong' for Floor. Stay safe, my dear..and strong
I SOOO wish Floor's full intro/outro w/eng sub performances from Sing Meinen Song 2022 were available on UA-cam. There is a cover she did of Kelvin Jones' "Call You Home" that brings chills to the bone just like this one. Out of all the Beste Zangers covers she did, this one is my favorite. BTW.
Fantastic reaction as per usual sweety. It is said that Floor Jansen could sing the phone book and bring you to tears with the emotion. It just happens that she was asked to sing a page of the Dutch phone book. Please check this one out.
That performance really gets to me too. Thank you for doing the reaction. You have overcome a great deal. That makes what you do even more meaningful and valuable.
Hi Debbie.. Good Day!! This song brings me to tear every single time I listen to it. You are the sunshine in my day, keep the reactions coming. You rock!!! Love and Respect. And God bless you for always doing the back stories on these emotional songs.
Oh yes, people who are NOT moved by this song/video should check their health, listen for their heartbeat, if it's still there... 'cause you never know!
Wow. Thanks for being open, honest and vulnerable in your reactions. Like others mention here in the comment section: we may not know each other personally but look how music and Floor connects us anyway. Stay safe and strong. Greetings all the way from Denmark.
Hi Debbie 👍🏼 Yes Floor is a very very good Singer.. And very good at different languages 👍🏼 I am swede and Floors Swedish language is very beautiful 👍🏼👁️ And i understand why her Swedish is so beautiful when i hear her home language from Netherlands .🇸🇪❤️🇸🇪
Dear Debby, enjoying your reactions so, so much... please continue! Great respect for the way you talk and relate to others. A gift it is, for you to share with us. You will enjoy Emma singing a beautifull song to Floor. Floor wrote a song about her mother being sick and Emma relates: "strong"
Thank you Debbie. I have necer seen the songs from Beste Zangers so this is fun. Floor and Nightwish are my personal favorites but I hope you don't forget Ren. I feel that Ren is a voice for those who suffers and I think he is one of the most important artists that you can find now. But very few have found him jet. He have a number of songs telling his thruth about beeing misdiagnosed and mistreated. Check out the songs "Chalk Outlines" and "How to be me", both together with Chinchilla. The end of the second song is abot his best friend ending his life. This friend is also in the song "Dear god".
The song itself is fantastically written, and Tim seems like a pretty awesome guy writing this for his Brother. Floor thrives off of being able to create a connection to what she sings. She taps into that, and uses it. In this case, with the story behind it, that emotional link to the music is amazingly strong. As a result her performance becomes basically super-human. I get wrecked by this one every single time I watch it.
Hi there Debbie, great reaction again... Seems I only repeat myself but I love your sincere reactions to the videos you react to that Im interested in Greetings from Sweden
Like you said in a previous reaction, "It also helps when there's a goddess singing". In Floor's case, she's not just Goddess of Metal - many of us also refer to her as Goddess of Human Empathy. She certainly shows that here...
I recommend the following song, from the same Beste Zangers, where Floor really conveys the emotions and everyone cries, especially the guy that composed and made the lyrics in Dutch, BUT Floor has translated the words to English with a help of her sister - "Floor Jansen - I don't know a thing about love (2019) + intro and outro (With eng subtitles) - ua-cam.com/video/1SyHUrfjeqg/v-deo.html ). It has the into & outro discussionns included.
When this episode aired, millions of tears were shed. The content of the song is something most of us know in one way or another, so this hit home for many many people. Ofc it doesnt hurt to have a powerhouse singer like Floor sing this, but regardless of who sings the song, the context will grab you. Tim Akkerman who wrote/created the song is known to be stoic, he had not shed a tear at all in any of the episodes.. till that very moment. And it makes me chuckle each time when he says to Floor "damn it Floor, now the title of my album no longer applies" (title of the album is "Lions don't cry") Tim sang the Nightwish song "Nemo" for Floor, and i am sure you will love his voice too, his natural raspy voice is created for rock, you'll know once you heard him. And i am glad you're doing so much better, have your beautiful hair back, and are keeping yourself busy with reacting to great music, as that does show the progress you've made sofar. I too knew similar struggles in my past that taught me to only "worry" about things i can control, the moment i learned (over time) to let go of anything i have no control over, was the very moment that i regained my inner peace and since then i've not had sleepless worrisome nights anymore. Basically it comes down to not letting things out of your control, control you. (sounds easier than it is lol, took plenty of years to get there) A big hug all the way over from the Netherlands, cya in the next one ;)
I have actually seen a clip where Tim Ackerman and Floor perform this song as a duet, I believe it was a Dutch sports award show, because I noticed several sports people who are Dutch in the audience.
You and this video are 2 of the most inspirational experiences I have had this year and one of the top 5 of my life. I appreciate so much what you're doing. I wish you great success. 💘
Hey Debbie! Thank you for opening up about such a deep and off topic! That made me even emotional. You are extremely brave to do that! Keep going, YOU are also a winner!
Tim's brother has spina bifida. That one gets us all Debbie! Floor is so special, caring and humble. Just a beautiful woman inside and out! I think that applies to you as well. life is too short to wallow in your self pity and bitterness. Reach for everything life has to give. Don't focus on what you cannot do. Focus on what you can and find your joy Debbie. We can all understand that no matter what obstacles we have individually, there are others who have less. Celebrate what we do each have. I am sure it is not easy, but we have no choice. Never give up! Peace.
When you get to it, I thnk the ending spoken words of Nightwish's "Greatest Show On Earth" is going to hit home with you and raise you up...it's about being lucky just to be alive and be here...
I dare to say this is one of yor best reactions for me. You might do Emma Heesters performing Strong to Floor. If you have (or had) a loving mother who was ill at a time, get a box of tissues. You gonna need them.

That song got not only you but me to , almost every time I hear it , and I think its got everybody who listens to it
I can identify with this one on a personal level as I myself am also physically handicapped and use a wheelchair
I cried with you, again....
😭I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying 😭
🥰
Btw: These Beste Zangers video's with English subs normaly don't get blocked because third parties put them together with the subs.
Debbie, as Dutch 🇳🇱very proud of Floor, also proud of you
sharing your personal story 💞kind regards from a Dimash dear❤️
You are beautiful with mesmerising eyes but your personality and soul are even more beautiful - and you get it !
❤️
I absolutely love the fact you do the intros and outros because it gives the songs such more depth. Thank you & keep fighting
Hi there Debbie, great reaction again...
Seems I only repeat myself but I love your sincere reactions to the videos you react to that Im interested in
Greetings from Sweden
There is a live version where Tim sang this song at a disabled persons award ceremony and Floor guest performed with him.
If you want another tear jerker watch the young girl Emma Heesters sing Floor’s song Strong. Floor wrote that song for her mother. Must watch!
And it makes me chuckle each time when he says to Floor "damn it Floor, now the title of my album no longer applies" (title of the album is "Lions don't cry")
Tim sang the Nightwish song "Nemo" for Floor, and i am sure you will love his voice too, his natural raspy voice is created for rock, you'll know once you heard him.
(sounds easier than it is lol, took plenty of years to get there)
A big hug all the way over from the Netherlands, cya in the next one ;)
Thank you Debbie, for sharing this with us! You said that Floor is beautiful (she is!), but so are you - sending you much love from the UK! 🥰
Thanks!
Thank you so much. You’re such a sweetheart ❤️🥰❤️
I have actually seen a clip where Tim Ackerman and Floor perform this song as a duet, I believe it was a Dutch sports award show, because I noticed several sports people who are Dutch in the audience.
You are a brave woman! 🤗♥️
You are a winner, Debbie! Don't you ever forget it!
That Floor............She's Something Special.
Topsong 🖤
So, this song was for you too, you are a winner too. And I love all your reactions too. They are sincere and real. So, thank you! ☘️
Lovely reaction and don't forget; you are here on earth with a beautiful heart!
You are a amazing person and woman God bless you so much
hi Debby. his name is Tim Akkerman. Floor did a song in this program with Tim, Shallow . think u like it
Its been said by many below already. Your a winner.
And look at you now. 10k friends online following you! That's a heck of a bunch of people! Great job!💪
.. Can't wait for your reaction to "mama"..and also at the German version of Beste Zangers Floor participated! You can guess the outcome 😄😉
Kleenex's Box ALERT! No doubt!😉👍
