This is fantastic. The song. The band. The singer. The reactions. Your reaction. Yeah! Raise your hands! Raise your hands. RAISE your hands ... This is a winner!
Tim was indeed... lets say "un-Tim-like" during this song, and he didnt see it coming at all. As people already mentioned, Tim mentioned he pretty much doesnt cry, and he didnt expect to cry at all during this evening. Well, as you and everyone could see.... there are forces in nature, that can break, the unbreakable.. in this case that force of nature is our own beloved Floor Jansen.. who else but her could've done that? i truly believe no one else could, but her and her majestic unique voice and her ability to reach into your soul like very, very few others are able to. Floor is simply unique, and not for her abilities, no... its her tone, her unique frequency in her voice, that resonates with our emotions, our inner soul, THAT is what makes her such a unique, once in a lifetime singer, and the only one, for me... who also had that same unique quality.. was the late great Freddie Mercury. For me, Floor and Freddie are equals, true equals in their ability to grab you and not let go. (heck, even their names start with an F.. maybe there is something there! lol) Ty for the lovely reaction and the upload Christi, very enjoyable as always :D
You should watch the whole episodes, they are really worth it. Each episode is celebrating the career of each member of that season. Denise Hofs’ channel has them with English subs. Best Zangers is the best thing I have watched in 2019.
The first time I saw this clip, I'd never heard Winner in my life before, and yet Floor STILL managed to make me feel what Tim Akkerman wanted his wheelchair-bound brother to feel when he wrote it for him. Floor is simply amazing, and I love her.
"I'm not gonna cry, 'cause Lion's Don't Cry", said Tim pretentiously... and then Floor sang him his own song. "Damn, Floor...", said Tim then and wiped his tears 😁
Floor does love Ann Wilson and has covered "Alone" on one of her CD's. Beste Zangers is a beautiful show. Have you heard "About Love I Don't Know a Thing"? A song written by Reuben Annink, the youmg latin boy on the show. He wrote it about his parents divorce when he was younger. Floor does an incredibly emotion job on this one. Also there is a amazing duet with Henk and Emma doing "Vivo Per Lei" which you should hear. Great job Christy!
@Thorgrim Actually Ruben Annink the young boy is Dutch. The 'latin' guy on this show is Rolf Sanchez and he is actually Latin/Dutch. He has a Dominican mother and a Dutch father. His real name is Rolf Wienk but is stage name is Rolf Sanchez. That name works better in Latin countries...
You are one of the very few reactors who is actualy raising hands. Kudo's for you! It is such a treat to look at your face while you are watching the video's. All the emotions you show, beautiful! Please will you react to Henk Poort and Emma Heesters while performing Vivo per lei? I think you love it. Every time I watch it my tears will come, it is so beautiful. You see how Henk encourages Emma. Hi isn't out to profile himself, but to let her come out well.
Yes, my dear, you are right, this band that accompanies this show (at least this year) is the best band in the world, they could play everything, exactly everything, folk-salsa-metal-rock-pop-classic. Thanks for the great reactions
I love the way you edit your video's. It makes them so much more pleasing to watch. And the idea of coming back on certain points after the song, using the whole screen and not just a tiny video inside a video, that's just very clever. The sound quality and the volume balance between your voice and the video you're commenting on are perfect! O and the fact that you yourself are a treat for the eyes is a very welcome bonus as well.
I think one year past of this show now! I can't forget waiting every Saturday to see Floor Jansen Performances... After the show ended, We waiting for the New Nightwish Album... and then C19 hit the World, At the time the World went it to lockdown and UA-cam Reactions Channel Exploited and Nightwish Army Born...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
My favorite reaction of yours so far, I just watched it three times in a row. Thanks for doing this song, thanks for re-pronouncing Floors name, and THANKS FOR GIVING THE BAND PROPS!!...few others have!, and they are VERY good, very versatile, and they give Floor a great foundation from which to fly. I'm a professional drummer...recognition is very much appreciated and goes a long way.
Some people did english subtitles for the entire show so you get to read the parts between the songs and have the back story for a lot of it. Good stuff.
Please comment on the Rolf Sanchez' song "Que se siente" and on Ruben's "About love I don't know a thing". Both Renditions of Floor are absolutely amazing. You will love them too!
This isn't the most emotional one she did on this show. When she sings I Don't know a Thing about Love it gets me every single time. I love seeing your reactions to what Floor can do!
Ha i just watched the episode from Tim a hour ago ( again)...then i saw youre reaction and had to check it ofcourse...The rasp in here voice at the end of the song was from emotion in Floor's voice she had a hard time keeping it straight but that made it so much more beautiful...i cried like a baby, as they all did on the coutch at the end of this song and Floor too it was Magic.
Floor gave a double meaning to this video, as she also sang it to Tim as he went through a tough year going through a painful divorce. Floor points to Tim and tells him he too is a Winner! Tim and Floor just sang this at a televised gala for sports in the Netherlands. The Marcel Fisser Band is absolutely amazing, and will be accompanying Floor on her solo tour guest starring Henk Poort, in January. The two of them will do "The Phantom of the Opera"
Christie thanks for this reaction. We really love your work!!. Please don't stop making this Floor/Nightwish reactions. I would suggest Ghost River live at Wacken 2013 or Song of Myself of the same show (vocally those are really interesting).... But if you want to explore more of Beste Zangers I recommend I don't Know a Thing About love by Floor. Greetings from Colombia! :D
@@Harolddespui Floor is the phonetic sound of how the Swedish word Flor should be pronounced, the word means transparent fabric and a special one is the Sorgeflor=Crape, that is the transparent fabric that covers the face on the widow at the funeral. You definitely want to check out Henk and Emma singing Vivo Per Lei even if its not for the channel. Their voices are incredible! It' overwhelms everyone, Floor included.
Nailed her name! You're going to love her version of Que Se Siente (originally by Rolf Sanchez, the big smile guy, also a great singer). Floor tries Spanish for the first time, gloriously
If you want to see the whole episodes with English subtitles, look for the translated videos of Denise Hofs, you will get all the background info you need from the singers. This season series of Beste Zangers produced many more gem songs than just those done by Floor.
You really hit what I like about Beste Zangers -- the whole concept isn't just that they take turns doing a tribute song for one of the other artists, it's also about getting outside your comfort zone and doing something different. To be able to branch our of the work and genre's you're known for. It's why Henk getting a bit rockish in Phantom, or Emma singing in dutch, or Floor singing in Spanish, are so cool. It's not what you're used to hearing from them and showcases how much more talented they are... and in some cases how much more talented than they themselves think they are. ... and that's the thing is before this song and before the spanish one, you can see Floor gathering herself. You can see that hint of self doubt, the "can I do this" -- and then she does it; and makes it look easy. There's the same thing in "learn the set list in 48 hours" where she's coming off what for all intents and purposes was a nervous breakdown, was at the point of never wanting to sing again, and then bouncing back to become lead singer of a group she was a fan of as a teen... In that moment of self doubt, overcoming it and getting on with it. That's what makes a winner.
Hi Christi! I love your reactions. Especially the great admiration for Floor is greatly appreciated . Good to hear that you will explore more Floor from "Beste Zangers". Be prepared that you most probably will shed some extra tears when you have your first listen to "I don't know a thing about love", the song she sung for Ruben Annink. He is a very young singer-songwriter. He wrote this song in a period when dealing with the divorce of his parents. Floor translated it into English and performed it beautifully. Please, do yourself and all your subscribers a favour and have a listen! Love from the Netherlands.
Lol, awesome intro about fleur. 😉 I'm so glad you decided to hop on the Beste Zangers train! It's a short ride but there were some truly amazing performances. Did I mention the duet between Emma Heesters and Henk Poort? They did Vivo Per Lei.😍 You mentioned the great musicians and I totally agree, they're accompanying her in her shows next month and I can't wait to see it. I hope there will be good footage so maybe you can see it too.
That's the way a song should be sung, feelings and emotions are a must when you sing about life / love and so on. Floor is a master in these things beautifull. btw love your comments we all learn from them thanks Ben !!!
Hello Christi, aren't we all winners? We get to enjoy Floor's singing - that makes us winners... To the song - Tim wrote it in honour of his brother, who is in a wheelchair - but actively participates in life and doesn't let himself be defeated. Tim also said before the show that he can't cry... Floor taught him better... that's why he says "damn Floor" at the end of the song when he puts his head down.
He (Tim) was really lucky because (although he had doubts about Floor's participation in the program) this piece (I don't know if it's his song but I guess so) was addressed to him personally because he has a paralyzed brother in a wheelchair and the text speaks exactly about being strong etc.
Tim is actually older than Floor :D ... In regards to the young artist remark. And as far as I know, his band Di-rect was hugely popular in the Netherlands. But of course there are many of us, who is not from the Netherlands who have come to appreciate his talent now.
Yep, Tim has been writing songs and making music for a long time. He started in his teens with Di-rect, and they were very popular, they've had fewer big hits in the past years, but they're still doing shows and festivals etc. :)
Floor is a very good storyteller. Even her whole body acts it out. Being a Pisces makes her like a chameleon, flexible and adaptive. Like a great actor she is versatile and can take on any "role" and with her background and schooling any sound.
A few of her influences are: Henk Port - The older guy on the couch Sting (Ruben sang a song of him: They dance alone) Anneke van Giresbergen (Former "The Gathering" singer; The reason Floor got into metal)
hello, i just watch your reaction, you don"t have watch all the show, Tim had write this song for his brother on wheelchair, and also at the beginning of this part of the show declarerd he never cry
He was just as, or even more popular as floor was when he did sing in Di-rect and she in After Forever. They did play at the same festivals at the time (till 2009). And Rolf was in the tropical billboard 2 times and lives in Miami half of the year and tours south and mid America. Emma (hi neighbor!) is just amazing as UA-cam cover singer and as person. Samantha has always been very popular in the more "folk" singing festivals and if I am right she was nominated a few times as best singer of the Netherlands and had a hit somewhere in Scandinavia. She also participated in "The Voice of Holland". (Originally a Dutch show). Ruben is a young and very talented singer/songwriter and waiter at a nice cafe! And well, No need to tell anymore who Mr. Poort is. And that is just one season. In the past ones there were a few opera singers (Maria fisselier and Tanja Kross) who were very impressive and many, many others I can recommend (Tommie Cristiaan, O'G3NE, Maan etc etc) but I won't flood this too much..lol
FYI: the show is not recorded over a period of weeks but I believe in something between 8 or 10 days on a location on Ibiza, Spain. The idea is to take artists out of their own bubble (they are there by themselves, no management or personal assistants). Also not much time is spent on rehearsals although there is extensive contact between the artist and the bandleader Marcel Fisser on things like the arrangement.
So I had a favorite Floor song in this show. The more I listen to the songs the less I have one favorite. I don't even remember the favorite song anymore. They are *all* so great. From your reactions I like About Love I Don't Know a thing best.
I can’t imagine there is anything more incredible than having Floor song one of your owne songs to you. She brings every song to the next level. It’s interesting to see them all sort of realise how good their songs are once she sings them. Not threat the originals ren not good they all are. But you can see every week how she blows their minds and they are all excited to see how she does the next sing. True star power. But they are all excellent. They all have great performances, it is such a a shame a show like this couldn’t be done in US or UK.
Pronouncation correct! 😉 The whole escence of the show is to share the love for music and they do a great job at it. And yes, it is one of Floor’s core qualities that she can suck up all the emotion in a song to emit it straight into your heart. You are not the only one to get wet eyes when listening to her 😉.
Since you're enjoying these performances from Beste Zangers, I hope you do Que Se Siente and/or I Don't Know a Thing About Love as both of those performances really show off Floor almost constantly varying her tone quality across much of both songs, which sounds really unique and interesting.
The band is so great that Floor decided to ask them to be part of the mini solo tour that she set up for next month ! Thanks for your reaction and comments :-)
I so knew you would love and appreciate this song . No words can explain her talent ...I Can't wait until your next reaction you're such a beautiful soul thank you !
I've seen groups of professional "working" musicians be really good before, but what impresses me about this house band is that it never sounds clinical or textbook. Highly accomplished, but it has a lot of the passion and personal commitment you find in people playing their own songs...This is pretty rare in a venue like this...
Assuming you do Floor's version of Rolf's song "Que se Siente" then I'd look up the video of his version of it first. It's a groovy samba Latin number. Then react to the Beste Zangers one. I love looking up the original versions of all these BZ songs and seeing all the "I'm here because of Floor" comments. It's expanding our music experience too!
If you like (and haven't done so already in the meantime 😅), it's worth to check out the full episode of Floor, where all the others sing to her. Two of them dare to cover Nightwish songs, which sounds so different and cool, and Emma covers a very personal song written by Floor herself about her mother. And it's so beautiful to see that there is something these very different singers have in common. And it makes Floor cry... Don't worry ... there are english subs... 😉
Hope that you want to do the song Strong from Emma Heesters that was a song from Floor when she was at After Forever. Emma did a great job with that song!
Tim Akkerman is not just a young songwriter that is exited because he gets one of his songs sung. Tim is 40 and has already quite a carreer behind him. Tim was the front man of the succesfull dutch band Di-rect that had a number of hits inside and outside the Netherlands. These days he goes solo. Winner is a number on his 2019 album.
Heh, I kind of liked your way to pronounce Floor's name 🙂. There is same/similar show like this in Finland too, I hope they get Floor into one so I could watch her "overfloor" the rest of the Finnish musicians here too - though here Floor is known pretty well so they would know her greatness even before the show 😁
Hi Christie. Thanks for this. Check out the back story on the song. Tim wrote this for his brother who disabled and in a wheelchair, hence the very emotional reaction from him.
If you haven't done the video already, check out Floor and Tim singing "Shallow". The one thing that makes me laugh e very time I watch it. Floor gets off her stool at one point and advances on Tim like a preying mantis about to bite off her mate's head. Poor Tim recoils. BTW, put the white balance of your camera on manual as the mixed lighting you have is screwing up the auto white balance.

Oh yes, the band is amazing! Thanks for the heads up!
Floor is a very good storyteller. Even her whole body acts it out. Being a Pisces makes her like a chameleon, flexible and adaptive. Like a great actor she is versatile and can take on any "role" and with her background and schooling any sound.
I like this show on tv. De beste zanger. Its not a competition. Every year this is on tv. Every year different singers.
A few of her influences are:
Henk Port - The older guy on the couch
Sting (Ruben sang a song of him: They dance alone)
Anneke van Giresbergen (Former "The Gathering" singer; The reason Floor got into metal)
hello, i just watch your reaction, you don"t have watch all the show, Tim had write this song for his brother on wheelchair, and also at the beginning of this part of the show declarerd he never cry
Best reaction ever ,thank you
Happy holidays ! Thank you!
Another classy performance and a great reaction. So effortless for her 🤯
I can’t imagine there is anything more incredible than having Floor song one of your owne songs to you.
Floor is a storyteller, and she does it in a way that only very few artists are capable of.
I just....loved the "floor" its just the "or"...like the " floor" on your ground...😉❣
I don’t even have to watch the whole reaction, I press like since the beginning of the video bcs I already know it’s going to be great!
Just 💖👑
Thank you for working so hard on getting her name right, LOL.
Wednesday 29 january Tivoli Utrecht and i got tickets😀
Northward - while love died, rock attitude from Floor
also listen to song mama from this show for more floorgasm :P
It's amazing how Floor sing this song better, than original singer
Hi Christie, thank you for your reaction, youre a wonderful person.
What would you do when Floor is singing your song to you the way she does? Yes, you get mixed with feelings all the way High and low. This is great.
When she does that "raise your hand" its like a primal war cry. She leans into it it and stands like a animal. Hard energy!
Wait until you get to Floor singing Rubens song 'About Love, I Don't Know a Thing'. I predict more tears.
Commander Floor moves the world.
Something almost superpower-like about her.
🥴
Heh, I kind of liked your way to pronounce Floor's name 🙂. There is same/similar show like this in Finland too, I hope they get Floor into one so I could watch her "overfloor" the rest of the Finnish musicians here too - though here Floor is known pretty well so they would know her greatness even before the show 😁
I'm Dutch, you nailed her name.
I'd love to hear her do some country style singing. I think she'd nail it based on this.
You are beautiful! :)
