Had me laughing at Moth rescue 911
Wow! A black fox! More brilliant production magic!
I love watching your videos before I go to bed! They relax me and make me wish I was there with you! I need to be outdoors more! ❤
“Moth rescue 911” lol made my day 😂😂
With this channel there should be automatic like as soon as it appears in your notifications
💚
Never seen a black fox before. What a handsome little guy! Thanks for sharing Jon!!
Yes!!! I know what I'm sitting down to watch tonight!
Same!!!

I think this is my favorite video of this year so far and maybe my all time favorite. I'm sorry the rest of your trip got canceled. All the wildlife on this trip was awesome. You have always stayed true to yourself throughout your UA-cam career. You are a genuine man. I certainly hope you come back and do a longer trip on this amazing body of water. Sometimes I meditate before bed. Sometimes I watch your content. I get the same results from both. Thank you for creating fantastic videos.
I truly appreciate that Doug! 💚
Did I miss this one 😮! So lovely Jon and can’t wait to what you have in store for us now!💜 B
One of my favorites with you solo. Nothing against you...I even really like your narration. But I like it when Erin or Joe n Zander (AND ESPECIALLY YOUR DAD) are along with you. I never went canoeing with my dad and I regret it now for sure (RIP) Anyway Great video dude...gotta love it!!
Great trip. Beautiful lake. Loved everything about this trip, but my favorite few moments was the gorgeous black fox, wow he was beautiful.
That is wicked cool I've never seen a black Fox
Awesome, beautiful , peaceful , a good wind down for the day.
I couldn’t watch! I’m utterly terrified of moths, but you are so kind for saving them.
That fox is SO RARE? It's a melanistic I believe. Awesome video, thanks a lot.
My dad worked at the Kimberly Clark pulp mill in Terrace Bay back in the '70s. KC logged an area the size of the state of Arkansas centered around Longlac. To set up the operation, Long Lake was dammed at its northern end, diverting the water from Hudson Bay down the Aguasabon River to Lake Superior. They built a dam and hydro plant at Terrace Bay and the mill is on the reservoir. They log all year and truck the logs out on the ice on Long Lake once the ground freezes up. From there the logs go down the Aguasabon to the mill. Beautiful area. Lots of lakes to fish if you can get permission to use the company logging roads.
LoL Holy cow! When my Shepard saw that black fox there in the beginning she absolutely flipped out! She was literally lunging at my PC monitor! I had to hold her back. LoL
Really great looking fish btw!
😆
Came back to watch this video again.
Just noticed the behavior of the fox at the beginning;
he buried the chipmunk to make sure it was secured before checking you out.
After he saw what you were about he went and grabbed his belongings and hit the trail lol.
Hi John, I never see black 🦊 to, beautiful journey beautiful place and you catch beautiful fishes thank you for sharing the video.
Short but sweet….lovely!
Your right it was spectacular, such a good job making this video. Awesome Lost Lakes
Dude that black fox footage is gold!
You are my life preserver. A week ago today I donated a kidney to my husband. We have to be in Toronto for another 5 weeks. We live in Penetanguishene and your videos take me a little closer to home❤️🇨🇦🙋🏼♀️
Wow that's such a touching thing to do. Wishing you both good health and hope you can get back home and out of the city soon 💚
Wow what a cool luna moth ❤ I've never seen one before...very cool
I loved that black fox it looked just like my dog burying her shhhh... toys. Beautiful camera work. It's amazing how similar that lake is to the one we're long term camping on. It's another long thin lake, running parallel to the one you were on. We found a Luna month floating last week too, it never occurred to us that it might still be alive. Big pike are the staple here for my family but we also have trout in the depths and sneaky little perch. I use 50lb fluoro and the burly pike here still fray it up, especially when they're angry and won't stop biting to get unhooked. Thunder Bay is awesome. We stocked up at Sleeping Giant Brewing the other day, best beer on the North Shore! Cheers!
Love the channel…been watching from the very beginning. Love the fishing…don’t ever lose the fishing!
What a beautiful Black fox so cute with his chipmunk bury and dig up again lol. Beautiful lake and landscape . That was a hilarious comment about your moth friend lol, and how dare it do that disgusting thing after his recue . love seeing the moose sweet. sorry to hear about your friend and his heart issue . well another time sorry you didn't get to finish your adventure . You fortunately got to catch some awesome fish and spend a night out . nice video as always Jon,
Hahah thanks a lot Sue
this was very cool . :) and Beautiful !
Blanche de Chambly! my favorite white beer from my hometown, Cheers!
Beauty sighting of that fox. Never seen a black one either.
Wow! You don’t get a day much better than that. 👍😎
Absolutely Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhmazing!! Your work brings joy to sooooooo many!! Thank you!!
💚💚
Awesome moth. Great that you saw a black fox. I was stunned too when I saw 3 together in my area just outside Matachewan. So I guess they are right across northern Ontario.
That's actually called melanistic fox or silver fox if you don't want to get technical. Which is part of the red fox family.
Neat little black fox...thx for the journey
I feel ya 👍🏽 chips are my weakness too, especially when we have fresh homemade Salsa with Doritos yummy 😋
Hope Rob is going to be OK I enjoyed that video. Lots of wildlife and less food prep and eating ...... Nicely Done
I've never seen a moose with it's head under water like that. Very cool.
"Rest, I'll bring some broth" lol
You packed a lot into that overnighter. Best wishes to your friend, sorry you guys couldn’t enjoy some 🏕 together.
Great shots of wildlife small and large. If I remember correctly, Long Lake flows into both the Great Lakes and Arctic watershed. (Either naturally due to morphology of lake basin or from damming). Have driven past Longlac countless times in the 80s when driving the northern route.
Amazing!
Congratulations 🎉

That lake was a gem!
Jonny boy! I pulled the trigger. My Amok Draumer 5.0 is in the mail!!
Nice man! You're going to melt the first time you get in (as long as you set up the suspension straps evenly) 🙂
Thanks Jonny. I'll be sure to keep my eye on that. ✌🏻
A perfect gem of a video. Well done.
Black fox, pike with no hook, Luna moth…. I’m only part way in and what a cool video start!
Congratulations 🎉

Awessomenesssss....and I've never seen a black fox before so thanks for that as well
I've had a problem with cans of beer breaking open due to vibration in a small soft cooler in my saddlebag on my motorcycle. What I have come to do is I put those thin koozies over them to stop them from vibrating and rubbing on themselves which stops them from breaking open. And then of course when you put your beer in a cold river or lake you have a cozy to keep them colder longer. It's a win-win. Maybe a helpful hint that you can use on your journeys.
So “Saving Kent” and “Simon a bloke in the woods” are both using the AMOK hammock over in the UK. Very cool.
Hope your friend is doing okay. Thanks for the video, was beautiful.
Another beautiful video🏞

What a beautiful lake! You're like me in the way we both rescue every bug, caterpillar and butterfly we see in trouble. I once rescued a Wooley Bear caterpillar in the middle of winter trying to cross the snow. I don't know what he thought he was doing but I put him high and dry.
👍👍 Thanks
I still can't get over how fast that hammock/tarp setup! I can understand getting up in the middle of the night for the stars: it must be an outstanding view. That lake sure looked more behaved that Superior
With an 85km north-south fetch, I'm betting it can get pretty wicked too!
@@LostLakes true. Examples in part 2? 😉
Beautiful Area You are the rescuer 👊🏾
awe, that fox was beautiful!
short but sweet thanks Jon

What a beautiful lake! Great trip Bud!
Wow, you saw some stuff on that one 👍🏻
That was good . Hope Rob is doing OK
Hi! How are You?
Seoul has been a tropical night for a week. Summer is still in the middle of summer.
I hope you stay healthy for the rest of the week. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your adventure! Cheers!
I found this to be one of my favorite videos you've done. So many interesting little things just strewn throughout, all beautifully photographed and edited. I honestly do not see how you manage it while fishing, camping, etc. But I'm glad you do, and I thank you for it. Good thoughts & well wishes to your friend; hope he returns to full and robust health quickly. (BTW, I think we all witnessed a paranormal event with that pike---there is no other explanation.)
Thanks a lot Emmy! He's all good, just thinks his canoe tripping days are behind him. Hahah I know!! I've watched the footage many times and there's no explanation
I totally agree! Beautiful video!
I appreciate you taking the time to identify the things you see. Most UA-camrs never identify the different birds, insects they see and are amazed by. Wolves, big fish/rapids, bears seem the main points of interest. What about all the other stuff flying around making beautiful calls, etc...
Simply awesome 👍🎯🇨🇦
Beautiful lake. Lots of wild life and fish too. Black fox was very cool. Thanks Jon. That was real good.
Love the Loon/Drone overlay. Awesome my man, Awesome!!! Keep living your Dash!!! - Davey.
Thanks a lot Davey!
I’ve never seen a moose dunk its head underwater to eat aquatic vegetation! That was crazy! Well done on the photography 👍🏼
Sorry you missed part of your trip. Hope to see it one day. Nice to see Zanders influence on your breakfast.
That black fox was one of the coolest wildlife shots I’ve seen on your channel!!
Beautiful lake with lots of wildlife. Loons are my favorite. That brown moth looked like it was convulsing. The black fox was beautiful with its long bushy white-tipped tail. Hope your friend recovered from the heart issue. Very nice video. Take care
Congratulations 🎉

Always enjoy your trips Jon. Sorry your friend was not up for it. Insect rescue.
thanks for sharing I always feel better after watching your videos
💚
Nice video, Jon, and I'm sorry you had to cut your trip short. Though, as usual, it sounds like you made the right decision. I hope your friend is okay. I've really been enjoying your channel. Though your styles differ, your canoeing and winter camping posts have gone a long way in filling the huge void left when Glen "Hoop" Hooper stepped back from his Wintertrekker channel. They really help me enjoy the wilderness vicariously even when I'm stuck inside. Keep up the good work. Oh, the "debris" bugs in the pond at your camp were the larval stage of caddisflies. Each larvae will spin a silken case, and camouflage it with local debris...sometimes pebbles, sometimes vegetation. Fair winds and tight lines.
Thanks for this David! Hoop is missed...I hear he's still around but not sure why he stopped posting
Beautiful video, very peaceful, thanks. Be well
This lake is so amazing!!!! *Great job rescuing all the little critters, Gonna get some good Karma for sure :) Wish I was on this lake right this very minute!!!!!!!!! Thanks for taking us another great adventure!
Great way to end my Sunday. Thanks Jon. Hope your buddy is ok.
Very nice - loved every second of it!
Excellent Video ‼️✅. As Always. 😊
I think you should write a camping cookbook together with Erin - here I am, French cheeses and a glass of Bordeaux next to me - and yet the food you serve up on this (and every) trip makes me reconsider my cooking/shopping choices. Amazing trip as always, thanks for taking us along!
Such beautiful scenery with amazing animal and insects pics. So refreshing to watch on a hit Oklahoma day. Thanks
Just gorgeous as always!!
Pike fishing is insane there.
Really exquisite scenes in this vid. Just imagine if you made postcards with them. Would be gorgeous
Beautiful photography! So enjoyable!
Comments: The opening with the fox was awesome!! And I totally agree about potato chips. Fire and sunset shot was amazing!! I could stare at that all day. The pike getting out of the net was pure magic. I couldn't see it leave so maybe it got out prior to you starting the scoop?? IDK!? And how long did that moose have her head under water? amazing! Thanks for all you do.
Thanks a lot William! When I reviewed the footage, I can see the first pike thrash on the left side of the net as I net the second, so it was still there...such a mystery
Well, the channel is off and running now and all from scratch. Well done sir! It doesn't hurt that your film-making is excellent, what with your 37 go-pros and every conceivable camera angle catching every possible animal and insect sighting, not to mention the time lapses and drone footage. You are the quintessential duck: all calm and cool above the waterline yet paddling like crazy out of sight of your viewers... all that planning and preparation and circling back to pick up cameras for parting shots. Wow. This is primo back country documentation. You should be proud.
Hahah nice duck analogy. Thanks so much David! 💚
Every single video is super enjoyable. Thanks for what you do
💚
I really love your video, and I cannot wait for the next video coming soon!
So much fun in just 22 mins! That gorgeous fox with its meal, the insect rescues, and the moose! The insect rescues are my absolute favourite haha. I'm an official wildlife rescuer and an unofficial bug rescuer myself 😆 awesome little video Jon, I didn't want it to end! 😄
Hahah thanks a lot Marissa!
Thank you Jon
Absolutely stunning lake
Excellent Trip! Great footage, beautiful lake.
Hope he did not get the "shot" ...great video!!
Great trip! Thanks for sharing.
These videos are so awesome. Really thank you.
💚💚
Thanks Jon, great vid and super editing. I love the drone shots and the shots from land as you are paddling. Nature at its best; never saw a black(silver) fox before, so beautiful. So are you Jon, a beautiful soul that trips out on Nature. Blessings
Thanks so much Nicholas 💚💚
Thank you so much Jon for spending the time with the "little things" ❤️ Absolutely gorgeous.
