These videos are such a respite from… everything. All I can ever think to say is thank you for putting so much effort into sharing your journeys with us.
I think this is my favorite video of this year so far and maybe my all time favorite. I'm sorry the rest of your trip got canceled. All the wildlife on this trip was awesome. You have always stayed true to yourself throughout your UA-cam career. You are a genuine man. I certainly hope you come back and do a longer trip on this amazing body of water. Sometimes I meditate before bed. Sometimes I watch your content. I get the same results from both. Thank you for creating fantastic videos.
Well, the channel is off and running now and all from scratch. Well done sir! It doesn't hurt that your film-making is excellent, what with your 37 go-pros and every conceivable camera angle catching every possible animal and insect sighting, not to mention the time lapses and drone footage. You are the quintessential duck: all calm and cool above the waterline yet paddling like crazy out of sight of your viewers... all that planning and preparation and circling back to pick up cameras for parting shots. Wow. This is primo back country documentation. You should be proud.
What a beautiful Black fox so cute with his chipmunk bury and dig up again lol. Beautiful lake and landscape . That was a hilarious comment about your moth friend lol, and how dare it do that disgusting thing after his recue . love seeing the moose sweet. sorry to hear about your friend and his heart issue . well another time sorry you didn't get to finish your adventure . You fortunately got to catch some awesome fish and spend a night out . nice video as always Jon,
What a beautiful lake! You're like me in the way we both rescue every bug, caterpillar and butterfly we see in trouble. I once rescued a Wooley Bear caterpillar in the middle of winter trying to cross the snow. I don't know what he thought he was doing but I put him high and dry.
This lake is so amazing!!!! *Great job rescuing all the little critters, Gonna get some good Karma for sure :) Wish I was on this lake right this very minute!!!!!!!!! Thanks for taking us another great adventure!
Beautiful lake with lots of wildlife. Loons are my favorite. That brown moth looked like it was convulsing. The black fox was beautiful with its long bushy white-tipped tail. Hope your friend recovered from the heart issue. Very nice video. Take care
You are my life preserver. A week ago today I donated a kidney to my husband. We have to be in Toronto for another 5 weeks. We live in Penetanguishene and your videos take me a little closer to home❤️🇨🇦🙋🏼♀️
Thanks Jon, great vid and super editing. I love the drone shots and the shots from land as you are paddling. Nature at its best; never saw a black(silver) fox before, so beautiful. So are you Jon, a beautiful soul that trips out on Nature. Blessings
I appreciate you taking the time to identify the things you see. Most UA-camrs never identify the different birds, insects they see and are amazed by. Wolves, big fish/rapids, bears seem the main points of interest. What about all the other stuff flying around making beautiful calls, etc...
Awesome moth. Great that you saw a black fox. I was stunned too when I saw 3 together in my area just outside Matachewan. So I guess they are right across northern Ontario.
Today I’ve went back and watched a lot of your older videos. You spend time in some of the most beautiful locations. Your videos are so peaceful. Thank you!
Beautiful wild life shots very cool I love Butterflies and moths and such!!! Just came home from an adventure and saw many different Butterflies. No black fox though. That was special!!!
Oh wow, such beautiful scenery and that black fox, butterflies and luna moth! Looks like such fun even though some part must be hardwork. I so enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing John. Big hugs
I loved that black fox it looked just like my dog burying her shhhh... toys. Beautiful camera work. It's amazing how similar that lake is to the one we're long term camping on. It's another long thin lake, running parallel to the one you were on. We found a Luna month floating last week too, it never occurred to us that it might still be alive. Big pike are the staple here for my family but we also have trout in the depths and sneaky little perch. I use 50lb fluoro and the burly pike here still fray it up, especially when they're angry and won't stop biting to get unhooked. Thunder Bay is awesome. We stocked up at Sleeping Giant Brewing the other day, best beer on the North Shore! Cheers!
I think you should write a camping cookbook together with Erin - here I am, French cheeses and a glass of Bordeaux next to me - and yet the food you serve up on this (and every) trip makes me reconsider my cooking/shopping choices. Amazing trip as always, thanks for taking us along!
I found this to be one of my favorite videos you've done. So many interesting little things just strewn throughout, all beautifully photographed and edited. I honestly do not see how you manage it while fishing, camping, etc. But I'm glad you do, and I thank you for it. Good thoughts & well wishes to your friend; hope he returns to full and robust health quickly. (BTW, I think we all witnessed a paranormal event with that pike---there is no other explanation.)
Thanks a lot Emmy! He's all good, just thinks his canoe tripping days are behind him. Hahah I know!! I've watched the footage many times and there's no explanation
My dad worked at the Kimberly Clark pulp mill in Terrace Bay back in the '70s. KC logged an area the size of the state of Arkansas centered around Longlac. To set up the operation, Long Lake was dammed at its northern end, diverting the water from Hudson Bay down the Aguasabon River to Lake Superior. They built a dam and hydro plant at Terrace Bay and the mill is on the reservoir. They log all year and truck the logs out on the ice on Long Lake once the ground freezes up. From there the logs go down the Aguasabon to the mill. Beautiful area. Lots of lakes to fish if you can get permission to use the company logging roads.
One of my favorites with you solo. Nothing against you...I even really like your narration. But I like it when Erin or Joe n Zander (AND ESPECIALLY YOUR DAD) are along with you. I never went canoeing with my dad and I regret it now for sure (RIP) Anyway Great video dude...gotta love it!!
It's such a pleasure to watch your genuine love and appreciation of all the wildlife you encounter, and it really comes across in the beautiful shots you capture on every trip you make. Jon your channel has become one of my very top favourites, and I watch hours of this type of show. One huge complain though..... 22 minutes only just wets the appetite for hours more of this. Just love it.
@@LostLakes Jon, I really hope your friend with heart issues gets better soon and you can complete the journey down that little used river, all your fans are waiting with baited breath. Good luck with all your future plans mate.
The wildlife was spectacular! Those moths were wonderful, even the little squirty fellow. haha! Thank heavens the Insect 911 first responder was handy. lol Thanks for sharing Long Lake with us! :) :)
Really enjoyed watching; gorgeous lake, extraordinary wildlife, and wonderful photography. What more could I ask for? Be well, stay safe! Blessings, Scott (just got 4 chickens, eating all the black flies and ticks, they are a hoot and very entertaining! Waiting for them to get older - fresh eggs for breakfast. I’ve named them, but that’s another story)
Another great one! Jon i have been seen you reading Desert Solitaire in other videos, can you share some thouhts of this great book? I ordered because of you and im amazed , we should shout out to the world , because it really can change peoples mind nowdays, in a real threatened nature.
It’s too bad you couldn’t finish your trip. But the adventure that you had was amazing! Loved the wildlife! I’ve never seen a black fox either. I was stationed on the Aleutian Islands which were seeded with blue Fox by the Russians for their fur. Thank you for taking us along!

Neat little black fox...thx for the journey
lol. The fox burying the chipmunk & immediately digging back up = how long your chips last. Same. 😂
Awesome, beautiful , peaceful , a good wind down for the day.
Yes!!! I know what I'm sitting down to watch tonight!
Same!!!

Great trip. Beautiful lake. Loved everything about this trip, but my favorite few moments was the gorgeous black fox, wow he was beautiful.

Did I miss this one 😮! So lovely Jon and can’t wait to what you have in store for us now!💜 B
That's actually called melanistic fox or silver fox if you don't want to get technical. Which is part of the red fox family.
Such beautiful scenery with amazing animal and insects pics. So refreshing to watch on a hit Oklahoma day. Thanks
