I watched this dude react to bad tattoos but never knew how dedicated he was. The detail and shading remind me of Paul Booth designs and he clearly has a steady and relaxed hand for these broad strokes he did when contouring the outlines. When he and the client have a defined idea, the details are amazing, I'm sure.
Alexis has started a sleeve on me. His dedication to the craft, and his patience with his work is immense. He doesn't charge by the hour, he stops when the piece is done, not before that. He had me sit for 11 hours on the second day of our appointment because he didn't want to leave something in a spot where it looked unfinished. I have 3 more appointments in March to get more work by him, and I know that the finished product will be absolutely gorgeous. He is a true master, and one of the kindest most intelligent souls I've ever met. A true listener, and leading by example.
I have a piece by him as well and I agree that he is one of the most kindest artists around. I really like that he loves his art and and not just pushing out tattoo’s just for the money aspect. He always has a smile on his face and wants his tattoos to speak to the viewer. Maybe one day I could check out your piece at a convention 🤙🏼
Ive got a trippy traditional freehand shoulder to wrist sleeve. Pretty cool experience. People who ask about it are blown away by allowing someone to freehand anything permanent
Such a great idea to use the shader like that! "freestyle" is a nice term, (I've just been using, "original" for my own work, but freestyle has a nice ring to it). I've been slingin' an art career for a decade (illustration, concepts, comics), and finally opened my own tattooing this past March, doing all original works as he described: but even then, despite knowing it's what I really wanted to do, I assumed I wouldn't do much freehand tattooing for a couple years or so. But freestyling has become about 50% of my tattoo work this first year! An incredibly pleasant surprise. Still working on building my own clientele, but I'm realizing my tattoo freestyling will rise in percentage with it! Hearing another tattoo artist share such mindset is very warming! As I still don't see em too often.
seventhseance I don’t see the problem wouldn’t white ink tattoos be easy to cover up? I’d give them one and tell them hit me up when they want a cover up lmao
Zoo they disappear in like a year and it just looks like you have a weird tan- like you put sun screen on in that one spot and got a sunburn after maybe a year. White doesn't hold up in the skin. It's probably the most temporary form of tattoo since your body metabolizes the white ink faster than any other ink. The white highlights I got in my tattoo were pretty much gone after a year. Certain colors like yellow and white don't hold up without touch ups.
this was so relaxing. but whats even better is the fuckin talent this man has. to create something so detailed and beautiful in confidence straight from the mind.... very impressive
Lorenzo M. 100%, anytime a friend asks me about getting their first tattoo that’s what I tell them, you get what you pay for don’t cheap out and do your research for your artist
Love my freehand. It was my 2nd tattoo and it was from my chest, back and shoulder down my arm for a whole sleeve. Gave my guy some big picture ideas with some pictures and I said this is what I like anything else is up to you jst go with it.
What an incredible video! Watching this artist made me want to wear one of his works on my own skin, especially considering it would be a first for me. Not sure what UA-cam algorithm led me to this, but I’m thrilled to have found it. Thank you 😊
That was dope as! I would love to get some shit like this done but that would be a big chunk of money, well for me anyway.. But that was dope AF to watch and to listen to how dedicated to his craft he is..
Of course...sharpies stay really well as opposed to a ball point pen. Unless you get the stencil marker...then that shit stays for good. Also you can use the different colors for shadows, highlights, sketching or outlining. Basically drawing on paper but better
I have a free hand free style snake. It's one of my faves. No chance a stencil would work for the area. Trusted the artist, he was expensive but worth it
7 years, I’ve been trying to find the right artist to do an extremely important piece for me & they all want pictures or images off google. I have tattoos but this piece it’s the meaning rather the image & I want someone to hear what I say & then create something based solely off that. I just stumbled on this video & sent an email
Absolutely incredible tattoo, I'm a bit bothered by the direction the owl's feet were pointing though. I know it's not supposed to be realistic but I find it jarring.
Love it. I have a freestyle freehand Hannya mask on my inner forearm, took pics of it during, such incredible talent these artists have. He used about four different color sharpies, and a few layers, watching it come to life was unreal. Vid of him colouring on me here: instagram.com/p/BoJlfKBgLhb/?hl=en finished product also on my page.

i can listen to him speak with that background music all day.
Hhhhhhhh the way he worked through the negative space created by his client’s other tattoos? BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Amazing!!!!
He did the owl too, alexis is the "owl king"

Would you be willing to let us know what you paid for your pieces? Thanks
TheRandom Fan he charges $2,000 per day.

so glad I was able to get a piece from this guy, he's seriously the best!
How long was the wait time in order to get one from Alexis?
Took me a while to figure out what body part was used! 😂
Thats the biggest leg 😆
Was that a man or a woman.. xD
I still have no idea tbh. But that's one huge body part
@@konstantindinkov1964 take a look at 6:47. definitely a guy
I kept on thinking its someone's back with really bad scolios
Bro, that's the most talented work I've seen in a LONG Time! I'm totally loving and respecting your works! Thank you Sir.
wow just the way he talks, and the words he's usiing!
My freehand tattoo my artist did on me is one of my favorites. Freehand is so personal and forms perfectly to the body when done right.
this guy is such a sick artist and he's really nice!
Hands down, one of my favorite tattoos I've ever seen

fydbac good on you for living your dream, man! do you have an insta for your work? I’d love to check it out
Too bad I could never afford his piece, his style IS amazing!!
Please do 'So you want a white ink tattoo"!!
I hate when people ask for this cuz it just doesn't look good 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ never seen a decent white ink tattoo that was healed.
seventhseance I don’t see the problem wouldn’t white ink tattoos be easy to cover up? I’d give them one and tell them hit me up when they want a cover up lmao
@@phant0m0th_ mine actually came out really good
Zoo yeah and have someone walk around saying their tattoo is shit and was done by you? That’s hustling in reverse. Gotta think about your brand.

He is called the *Owl King* for a reason 🔥🦉🔥
Good ol' alexis vaatete
Great job as usual my friend. Can’t wait to finish my arm with you. Take care.

So freakin amazing and beautiful! What a talented human being.
I didn't know what Artists used to freehand draw onto clients but I definitely didn't think it was Sharpies 😂
Of COURSE its SHARPIES!! if you screw it up, a quick CLEAN up with RUBBING ALCOHOL, and you can start again!!
It is a sharpie
42rufi pencils don't exactly do the trick
Of course...sharpies stay really well as opposed to a ball point pen. Unless you get the stencil marker...then that shit stays for good.

daaaaaaaaaamn so sick

I follow alexis on Instagram and this mans work is amazing just to get inked by him would be an honor
thats insane! wouldnt ever guess it was free hand
Beautiful black and grey work my dude🤘

Am here hyptonized by his voice thinking how bomb his Asmr video would be
That was sick. Amazing work on that piece
Now this is an artist
That's a flippin' awesome piece. Rock on bub 🤘🏽

Amazing artistry!
Alexis is a fuckin beast. He did my boy Eric's owl king on his chest/neck with the helm of awe

Omg Alexis I love his work 😍😍😍
Impressive work
This is the content I like
Beautiful work, beautiful man

I got a freehand dragon this year and I love it
That man is a beast
Y’all need to do so you want a polka trash tattoo? I think it’s a super underrated and badass tattoo style
last time i was this early my mom was giving birth to me
Last time I came this early, the stripper was laughing at me

Dudeeeeeee this guys amazing 😭 I’m fucking jealous I want a back piece of an owl.
Damn.. SKILLS !!
This was 🔥 🔥 🔥 more shit like this please
I love this ❤❤❤Awesome
what a hoot
I'm an OWL LOVER!!
That Minecraft music though
That's amazing
Gotta say, the king of freehand is still Carl grace.
He's the man but Paul Booth is the king.
this gives me anxiety
i love it
What is the song though... it’s fantastic
Yes i want a free -hand- tattoo
Well I just put $1000 in the savings account. I'll be getting work by this guy in my future
Did you get it?
Absolutely incredible tattoo, I'm a bit bothered by the direction the owl's feet were pointing though. I know it's not supposed to be realistic but I find it jarring.
Yes i also agree w this.
Nice
Wow this guy is a monster
I love how you pat pat pat the excess ink, instead of AGGRESSIVELY WIPE, like some IDIOTS DO!!
He seems so delicate that I'm almost certain the client fell asleep during this tattoo.
I was half way through the vid before i realized it was his leg and not his back
What machine do u use and what's the voltage u work on?
David perez from the look of it is a coil tattoo machine (but I could be wrong).
@@tvisionary9024 theres no way that's a coil...its def a rotary...looks like an xion but I could be wrong

I have a few tats free handed shit, prison work and street art in a shop
Wat part of the body is that wtf
Upper leg/hip area
@@daisy5530 looks like the knee down
Lol it took me a while to figure out
ojforget okme he was tattooing the side of the persons ass at like 9:15. So definitely above the knee
I thought it was a massive bicep for a while lol
*I like owls.*
Isnt sharpy unhealthy to use?!? Last time i checked, u should use sterile surgical markers..
Your tattoo is sick anybody know how much it cost? 🤔
Probably A LOT

I just wanna know what part of the body is he tattooing lol
Thigh butt area
💀💀💀
I’m so fucking confused whether he’s tattooing an arm or a leg
It would be cool if u idk maybe didn't play the same song over and over like fifty times
Its like graffiti but in tattoo form.
That’s the biggest leg iv ever seen
first
This is so vague lol
So sick to bad its covered 95% of the time
Who else watches for the story behind it like if u do
He's corny as hell
In the description you wrote “are” instead of “our”, and I just think that’s a silly mistake
No sillier than somebody with Senpai in their name correcting grammar
Travis Wolf true but I made that 10 years ago in school and never changed it lol. I don’t disagree with you
