You're not alone with not knowing how to apply makeup,I never know what shade I need or what product is best, and I'm very pale so I need makeup, you have a lovely rosy glow to your skin so you don't really need makeup
@@suejennings7739 thank you Sue, it is a minefield isn’t it, and I think there are so many options these days, we kind of get lost with all the products and tips etc. I think having a pale complexion just having that fresh face natural look with a tad of blush/bronze on cheeks and hairline, but then again I could be very wrong… 🤷🏻♀️
I'm so glad i found your channel. I really enjoyed your video. I think the foundation may be slightly too yellow toned. Perhaps try a more neutral tone - this can be a bit tricky with Chanel foundations. You have beautiful skin so you don't need heavy coverage. You also don't need to use a brush for foundations and concealers. Go old school with clean hands. It warms the product and helps it to melt into the skin - helps to avoid using too much and looking cakey. Can't wait to watch your next video. x
@mamph7381 thank you so much for your kind words… I think the Chanel Shade she matched the concealer was neutral undertone and the foundation was rosy undertone, which in hindsight doesn’t seem right if I’m trying to cover pink… I really dislike yellow/orange undertone on me as it sometimes makes me look bruised in some lighting. Yes I like using fingers to apply. I guess less is more is the way to go…. Thanks for watching ☺️
You are such a beautiful lady 💕 I have to admit I'm envious of your skin and your gorgeous hair 🩷 So just like you, I struggle with finding the right shade of foundation. I can vividly remember one morning looking in the mirror when I got work and practically dying of embarrassment because my face looked so orange! It definitely didn't look that way at home. My lighting wasn't accurate but orange?! Seriously?! It was a real bummer. Anyway you look gorgeous ⚘️ I'm glad I found your channel and subscribed 🥰 very best wishes from south Florida
@@mimi31268 thank you Mimi for your lovely words. Accepting my silver hair was really liberating, and actually I think is Mother’s nature way of giving you a transformation that will naturally go with your colour and features, … oh yes I feel you, with the orange face…. Lovely natural look. I have the Chanel Sublimage in shade 32 which is more of a corrector shade and use it in a light handed manner with a tiny bit of IT cosmetics bye bye undereye in 20 at the very darkest part of the undereyes and where the bag starts (but not on the bag as it is a brightener too and will draw illuminate it). Foundation is so tricky. I am 60 and have over 20 bottles as I can’t get the right color. Some can turn and look orange or cakey. Try using nars light reflecting with a small foundation brush. Do the concealer after foundation and small amount. I think your make up looks really nice and lips look great. Maybe just a taupe tone in eyes. You got this and again looks lovely.

Dab of concealer under eyes if needed, otherwise, just blending light foundation/BB right up and lightly over eyes too. 5. Setting powder 6. Bronzer in hollow 7. Blush on cheeks 8. Highlighter on top of cheekbones (+down centre of nose if going out and bit of bronzer on sides of nose to shape for going out look) 9. Setting spray to last if its going out look... 10. Eye shadows. 11. Eyeliner 12. Mascara 13. Lipliner 14. Lipstick. 15.. lipgloss Well, what do you know!! It is 15 steps if its full makeup going out!!! ....For light day wear ..BB cream for foundation, setting powder, mascara, maybe eyeshadow and lipstick and go, if just a day look. So 5-6 steps then...

I've watched a couple of times now. Under eyes, LESS is always better, as too much concealer will start to crease into lines and emphasise rather than help hide. On camera, the foundation colour looks ok, and yes, the last brush you held up would be the best, but 2 tips 1.don't choke the brush, (hold the handle, not the bristles, which you did when brushing onto your face) 2. Put the product onto a palette or your hand and then dab the brush into it dab dab dab until you picked it up (now your brush is 'primed') and gently brush it around over your face, you can go in and direction, but as you finish, try to sweep up so you get even up sweep. I like to then (use the soft, loosely packed brush for powders) ..the one you used to put the foundation on, to dust over a setting powder (a kabukie brush) use a dusting of powder, then spray the setting spray, then dab with a foundation sponge (wet then squeeze out and squeeze in a towel, so its barely damp. Dabbing that over to press into skin, especially under eyes. Its all trial and error, all you have to do is practice, put it on until you are happy with the finish. Try the colours in the shop and see if they suit your tones. You dont have to match shadows to your clothes, you can do a nude look, you can do a bold one-and-done that is all on lid, with a lighter colour just dusting to blend the edges. You can do a 4 colour look (all over basic that is slightly darker than skin, a light shade on the inner corners of the lids, a dark shade in the outer corner of lids and up into crease, then a medium to blend that darker colour in the crease and blend it out. As we get older, a lip liner is good to stop lipsticks 'bleeding' (and I dont think that lip colour suited your skintone, sorry, go a bit more nude), and do 2 to 3 layers of mascara, build it up to make the lashes look fuller and longer. Of course, clean it all off and good moisturiser at end of day. And rubbing the Primer in at the beginning makes everyones skin go pink, so dont let that bother you. Watch Sugar Puff and Fluff, Roxstrmom, Allie Glines, etc... You are refreshingly honest and a joy to watch, you are all of us not quite sure what we are doing, but what the hell, I am 83 and still learning, you do have a lovely face and hair, so my advice would be apply product more gently on your skin, not so much of the product, you do not need it, maybe a stay away from blueish pink in lipstick, head towards a warmer shade but the blusher was brilliant, avoid hard harsh lines on eyes or anywhere, perhaps use fingers patting on the stuff under the eyes not scrub it in and much less of it.

@@nicolachudley3296 thanks, so the last brush I found would that be a foundation brush?
You might try a tutorial. It would look better if applied better. And yes you are going a bit 1960’s but better then nothing.
@@denisefuentes7905 100% agree, someone mentioned a few UA-camrs worth following as it’s not only about how to apply but also for my aged skin too, so will look into their tutorial… thanks 🙏🏼
without make-up: 50year old woman. with make-up: 70year old woman
@@heyginger3361 thank you, my daughter actually said the same thing…. Not as high as 70 but definitely older than 50 😜 …. Maybe I should just stay natural or use Bb cream
@@Hazelhopes if i may say so you look very beautiful as you are, i`m 51 myself i don`t think that`s "old". 🙂
@ no it’s not old really, but do feel old with this bloody perimenopause right now!
Ahhh thank you 🤩
Your skin is lovely
@ thank you 🙏🏼
Wjhat about your eyebrows...????
I don’t usually wear make up. They are microbladed, and have now tinted them so they are all good for next 6 weeks.
@@HazelhopesI thought your brows were microbladed... I had that done too, best thing I ever did frame's the face, emphasise eyes, and lasts for years (I think 8 or 9 so far)... I only use a bit of pencil in my brows if I'm doing an evening look with a more 'dramatic' eye look.
@@lynettefinnigan9540 yes getting mine done was the best thing I ever did too…. Otherwise they would be blonde and it looks bald. (And I’m not even blonde)… great for shaping too, as they are already shaped, so makes tidy up with tweezers so much easier. Lash lift again next!
Love the lip colour! I’m no make up expert but I think it looked quite cakey on you
Thank you…. I had a lot of trouble deciding if one layer was enough or do two…. Then also I tried to have as much natural light aswell…. Yes I liked the lip colour too thanks 🙏🏼
You don't need 15 steps to have good makeup
