I don't understand why everyone says JJK animation is good when it looks like those tiktoks from 2020 of haikyuu characters dancing to tiktok songs made from fans that have no faces and are wearing a hoodie and sweats.
The animation does slow itself at times, but it’s primarily the direction that’s so good and the simple designs that enable fluid motion. Bleach likewise has a good Director, but the character designs are much more detailed which leads to more time animating to achieve the same results, but they simply don’t have that.

There’s much less visual flair and sparse movement. In comparison, the first half/13 eps only had that for a couple of eps, but most were consistently well animated. Ep 4 is an improvement over the others, but the masculine scene looks awful. It objectively looks worse than the first half, BUT I think the remaining eps will look better. They were probably saving it for the more hype stuff like Kenny’s fight.
@@To-To(sorry for the long response) you’re only remembering the good parts. overall… the art style was way too glossy for a dark show like bleach. sure the line work on the art was great but there was a severe lack of detail in the art (look at jugram’s cour 1 model vs his scenes in four 2). honestly i’d rather give up the barely noticeable line work in exchange for better detailed art. a good example of this is toshiro’s design. he looks almost like a different character in cour 2 because there’s so much more detail. another example regarding toshiro again is daiguren hyorinmaru. look at how much more detailed it is in every scene of cour 2 in comparison to the singular scene it had in cour 1. it looks a lot closer to kubo’s art style. also there was only about 7 eps of fighting last cour and ep 3, 4, 5, and 9 and even then they were very limited. especially in ep 4 where the only good cut comes in in the last 3 minutes. even in ep 10 when kenny and unohana fought it had like 2 minutes of good animation and the rest of it was nearly a slideshow. we’re only 4 eps into cour 2 (which will have 12 eps of almost entirely fighting in comparison to the 7 of last season) and were already getting stuff that is better than ep 7 of last cour. and don’t get me started on how stiff it is. when you look at when byakuya gets fucked by his own bankai. it’s pretty much a slideshow. hardly anything moves. something else i’ve looked out for is hair movement. look at when byakuya activates his bankai in ep 4. his hair moves but it looks very, very stiff almost as if his hair isn’t hair but rather just tentacles (even in the og anime, this wasn’t an issue. look at ichigo and ginjo’s fight for reference). however, hair movement flows very well in cour 2. so far a great example is when yhwach, uryu, and haschwalth are standing on the top of the castle in ep 1. the hair actually feels like hair swaying in the wind. it has very complex movement. not just flaps that are barely moving. and probably the biggest thing is the increase in traditional animation. most of cour 1 was just digital effects. this season has a lot more amazing 2D animation. one of my favorite examples is soi fon pulling an oppenheimer on BG9. also finally.. character acting. the first cour had such little character acting that it was legitimately laughable. hardly any character actually moved. however even in just this first 3 eps there’s so much more character acting. my favorite examples being cang du pulling matsumoto out of his cloak and komamura’s transformation. those 2 scenes have more character acting than all of cour 1 combined. tbh, all they did was sacrifice line art for the sake of being able to have better directing, movement, and more detailed art. there’s something else i forgot to mention. isshin vs white. it’s a minor fight but i remember you saying “bleach has been amazing especially in the animation department” while using a clip from it. it’s… very interesting you had said that. considering that’s by far the most stiff the series had been since the og anime. and then for some reason you take the only off model frame from toshiro vs bazz b and say the animation has gotten worse? my man… the last 3 minutes of ep 2 is more fluid than the entirety of eps 4, 5, 3, and 11 of last cour. also, why nitpick the mask scene? every scene with mask BESIDES that one with the still frames that lasted for like 3 seconds has more movement than any scene he was in before. if you’re gonna nitpick mask’s scene, nitpick shit like isshin vs white, nearly all of ep 4, the loop of ichigo vs quilge, the invasion of the sternritter which literally doesn’t even have a coherent storyboard, byakuya and renji getting packed up by as nodt, the end of kenpachi vs unohana which is almost told in completely still frames, ep 8 which has some of the most boring storyboarding in the season, or even kenpachi vs unohana’s entire fight which was genuinely so dark it was difficult to see and looks puke green. also all the times the character models fall flat. which happens so often it’s laughable in cour 1. it’s especially bad in eps 8, 9, 10, 4, and some of 2 trust me, i was the exact same and thought cour 1 was a lot better. but i went back and rewatched it. outside of eps 1, 6, and 13 (ironically all the eps directed by taguchi) this season’s animation is objectively better. and they’re being very creative with the red sky and blue landscape.
With the subtitles on the upcoming episode? It helps with retention. Keeps it higher because people like beeps and boops. I think it adds to the videos, too. Going back and watching my old stuff without the subs and sound effects just feels like something’s missing. You’re the first one to notice it was predominately switch SFX tho lol

And then proceed to not market said Dub at all. If there's anything Nintendo related, you can be sure I'm very likely to recognize it, although I'm very good at memorizing audio in general. nah the animation is better this cour. there’s a lot more movement and directing is a lot better… especially in ep 4
