This is exactly how i did mine. There is a video that tells you to take off the entire back and its more complicated. I recommend doing it this way.

@@lasfitvehiclelife I did not use lasfit bulbs but I was pulling and prying on the overhead conceal like the other 15 videos showed to do. After a few minutes before I broke something I continued searching and found you pointing out the two screws up in the sun glass compartment. Saved me from also having to by new plastics.

I had three burnt out or flicker on my 2019 Ram.. I put the OEM bulbs back in.. the back dome still works though after few years..
Removed screws and popped the clips, and is loose but the assembly won't come off. It is stuck on the top part where the lights are. Help please..
These are just the standard license plate / dome light bulbs?
I see you have a dashcam. Where did you source the power for it? I need both switched and battery power for my Viofo, which is why I for nd your video... looking for power in the overhead console. Please advise when you have time.
Just buy the hardwire kit and when you want it off just turn it off by the button or simply pull the power cord out the cam a little bit.
It would be silly and asinine to have a separate kill switch.

Thanks for this…. I was astounded the other video was trying to get me to do open heart surgery… for others watching I have 3 notes as I just did mine.
-A medium guitar pick worked flawlessly to get the lenses off
-I got one my reflectors all fingerprinted up, video is correct, but once the lens is on I can’t tell the difference between the first one, and the second one
-after the 2 8mm screws and sunglasses holder clips are released, the front of the bezel is held on with push in clips… video’s just dropped out, I just had to give a couple tugs and it pops right out.

As for the 2021 Ram 1500, #L-44MM LED bulbs can be installed on the dome light and #L-T10 LED bulbs can be installed on the map light.

I have a 2016 1500 Longhorn Laramie and I can't find anything how to change out my overhead light. I don't have a sunglass holder like the video. Any advice how to change it?
You can pop the plastic covers with a flat head. No need for taking off overhead unit. Zip ties work for taking off stock halogen bulbs
@@malanikeama6128 you can get em out that way but not back in. The holders are to flimsy. Did you see the part where he held his fingers on the back to support it while inserting new bulbs? That step is 100 % necessary. You will damage the frail sockets if you try to push to bulb in with out bracing the socket. Their made of thin metal not much thicker than 2 pieces of aluminum foil.
I wish I had watched this video yesterday . I have a brand new Ram. I watched the same video you did.I also broke the 2 tabs. Also the one that show in that video is different.It is a 2019 ram. How much did the replacement console cost? I don't really need it cause the screws hold it in. Thanks for making this video.

Nice job on the video. My only addition would be that those clips on the other side of the ones you can see can be pretty tight. Mine didn't just drop free like yours did. That same pry tool is useful to ease it out. The only way to do it is to pry the unit straight down since the clips are just wedged into the retainer.

@@adamgonzalez9677 - Pretty much! Just try to pry straight down with a pry tool. It worked for me.

Changed the lights pretty easy, the passenger worked but the driver wouldn’t go out when lights dimmed! They flickered had to put stock bulb back in

@@lasfitvehiclelife tried other bulbs but would stay dimly lit, so installed the halogen! now have 2 colors lights driving me nuts! do not have video but the picture doesnt show how dim it is either
Why not just remove the lens and do it that way...
I was thinking the same thing... Why does one need to remove the entire assembly if you can just remove the lens covers?
@@GentooGuy can’t get the bomb back in with out removing. The bulb sockets are so thin and flimsy it’s 100% you Will damage them if you insert the bulb with out securing the back of the socket like he did in the video.
You can get them out with out taking console down. But you can not replace them. The sockets are thin and the Contacts are a s frail as a paper clip.
Really crappy design.
I tried it that way and bent the connectors back so I just looked this video up to try to get in there and bend them back. I also lost two LED bulbs up there as well
@rickylee2477 I thought it was just me. I have a 2024 ram 1500 for what I paid for this truck there's alot of cheap parts in it I'm finding out. I bent the he'll out of mine and now have to drop it in hopes I can bend it back. Half my truck can led and the other half halogen. If it was one or the other I wouldn't mind but having two different lighting drove me crazy
