I bought a used 2019 Ram Big Horn 1500 Classic. Ever since I've had it, it has adjusted the clock for daylight savings time backwards. Fall back in the spring, and springs forward in the fall. In addition, driving across the country it will adjust the clock in the wrong direction as I cross time zones. I have searched forums for a solution, but have not found anything. Thanks in advance.
I submit that one would need to have an engineering degree in computer design to drive these things,. I can just imagine the failures in all that gadgetry. I have a 97 Ram 2500 diesel 5 speed manual 4X4 , with well over one million miles on it. I can see the fun people living in the "salt belt" will have with trucks like these. We build these things because we can, not because it is necessary or desirable. Your explanations of the various features is articulate & informative. It is delightful to hear a man who KNOWS what he is talking about. Here in Canada, that truck you were doing the demo on would most likely cost $95 K or more, & I doubt that techs are available to fix them. Thank you for an informative video.

Another request when you're talking to the factory. 1, give the option to delete fender flares on the trims that come with them standard, or 2, at least go back to the prior gen flares that taper into the fender much more nicely. The current ones stick out too much at the top and make the truck look like an old Tundra or Sequoia. Especially where they meet the front bumper. Looks worse than something aftermarket. I'd take mine off but the fenders have holes punched in them to allow screws to come in from the back Argggh.

Hey bro I live your videos!! Very helpful I recently bought a 2020 Ram Bighorn in pristine condition but can’t figure out how to control the rear seat air vents , when I’m using the a/c the air on the back comes out hot 🥵 is the truck not working properly??
Hi Preston, love your videos, they’ve been really helpful. It looks look like you have a degree in Ram’s. I have a question about something I haven’t been able to find an answer to anywhere online. Can the sensitivity of the light sensor for my automatic lights be adjusted? In my older Ram (2013) even on cloudy days my auto lights are activated. Now in my new one (2022) it has to be really dark for them to go on. I almost all the time have to do it manually because dont want a ticket driving with no lights when everyone has them on. Thanks and have a blessed day.
Hi Johnny! Thanks for watching and the kind words. I'm not aware of a way to adjust the sensitivity. However, if you cover the sensor, then your lights should come on automatically.
Thanks for the information and well presented! I'd love to see the manufacturer's website show the payload/tow numbers difference as you configure an on-line build. I'm thinking of getting my first truck and leaning towards Ram. However I was surprised to learn how some of the packages/features like Ramboxes, Multi-Function Tailgate, even the Pano-Roof really take away so much from payload/towing. I saw in a video recently where a nicely equipped Limited had less payload (around 1,000lbs) than a Toyota Sienna minivan. Seems like you can't spec them up much or you lose a lot of the primary purpose, the capability.
Not many people understand this. The more options (weight) you add, the less payload weight and trailer weight you can safely move. When a customer is concerned about towing capacity, then the first option (after the engine) to look for is the 3.92 rear axle ratio. It doesn't change the payload, but it can dramatically improve the towing capacity.
This is for me, why I got the 6.4 with 4.10 over the 6.7. I have the Laramie Midnight Edition with a payload of 2995 the 6.7 I looked at had 2005 lbs. I believe but I'm not sure the max is 3500 and some change. but that's a Basic tradesmen I would assume.
Unfortunately, I don't think you can upgrade to memory settings without buying a new vehicle. I'm not going to upgrade to a Laramie from a Big Horn/Lone Star JUST for memory settings. It's a pretty big price jump for one feature. BUT, if I were in the market for a 23 Ram 1500 Rebel I would definitely add it as part of the comfort/convenience group (I think that's what gets it for you) and on the Laramie I would strongly consider upgrading to the Sport Appearance package and Night edition to get this feature.
Would be interesting to know how to get the tracking system out of the truck, not turn it off because it continues to track the truck, but getting it completely out of the vehicle. RAM know it's illegal and tell customer to go to dealer, but dealer refuse to do it (which is illegal)
Great video information! I have a 2019 Ram Rebel and I can’t use my key fob for setting my front driver’s seat because there’s no memory button! Why is that?
+George Rusnak the memory seats aren't standard on the Rebel. I'm not sure about the 2019 models, but on the 2021 model you have to have the comfort and convenience group for memory seats. Here's a video I made that talks about the equipment options on the 21 Rebels. ua-cam.com/video/y85O5ADR_fo/v-deo.html
Hi Preston. Regarding the Air Suspension for a '22 Limited I'm aware of being able to set Aero mode to auto, however do you know of a setting that would allow the vehicle to automatically drop to Entry/Exit mode upon turning off the vehicle? TIA
Hi Al, good question.....I'm not aware of a setting on our trucks that will automatically lower to entry/exit height. If you are driving less than 33 mph, then you can press the switch to lower from normal ride height (NRH) to entry/exit. The system will begin to lower once your speed drops below 15 mph. If your truck is equipped with the off road group, then you may have to press the lower switch two times. There are some speed limitations to this lowering. If the vehicle speed remains from 15-25 mph for more than 60 seconds or exceeds 25 mph, then the lowering will be cancelled. You can also lower the vehicle by pressing the lower switch on your key fob.
Hay quick question 🙋 I still have never figured out how the wireless charging works. Is there a turn on her turn off just putting your phone there doesn’t do anything.
My 2020 Laramie is Hydro Blue (two-tone) which in my opinion is the best (but rarest) color. It is high visibility, easy to keep clean with a hose down, doesn't show micro swirls like black, looks custom, reflects lots of sun heat, and is head turning attractive. Two-tone in combo with splash guards is also great for contrast and reducing/hiding road grime and aesthetically breaks up the solid wall of blue. Unfortunately, RAM decided to simplify their color options and deleted two-tone paint jobs.
Nice man, I love the hydro blue, it was actually my first pick, but I guess your right about that color being rare because I couldn’t find one. Even as a OTR truck driver , I only seen a few. I got my 2022 Laramie a week ago. It’s my first Ram truck and I love it. I listened to my wife and went with the Flame Red with the night edition package.
@@Ghost51492 Just saw this today. Fortunate for you Ram did come out with a two-tone Hydro Blue and Black across the bottom. BUT, you can only get this in the Backcountry on the BH, and some of the other trims. I HAVE a 2023 Backcountry on its way to me right now. And you are correct, they are rare, and beautiful. PS: got mine with a pano sun roof
I think the two tone with black on the bottom is only on the Back Country. We haven’t ordered one for our inventory, but that package looks like it would be a great value!
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 Love your videos man! I had fun putting that truck together on the RamTrucks website. As of today they've only made 454 Blue trucks, and 124 Backcountry trims. And as far as I know right now there's only one coming to KC !!
Thank you!! Just bought a 2020 Ram 3500 Tradesman. My front, two interior cabin lights dont come on when I click the reading light buttons or when I open the doors. Is it a setting keeping them from coming on?
Preston, thank you very much for this video. This is the first video I've found that actually showed how to actually work the electronics systems. While on a recent test drive I asked the salesman if they provided college courses on how to operate the truck. Can the tiny plus and minus on the steering wheel be used to manually shift the truck into the desired gear while driving? More like tis please. Great job.
This has been very helpful to me. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. My RAM is a’22 Limited. Can the 12” display screen be set to auto dim or some type of night mode w/o having to do so manually using the adjuster(s)to the right of the headlight knob?
I made this not too long ago for a customer. It should give you the basics on how to operate the dimming functions. ua-cam.com/video/xwJr4zFuMOU/v-deo.html
From the looks of it I should have gotten the limited instead of the Big Horn. My truck is a ram 2021 big horn and it came with the larger display, but it didn't come with the preset function.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 yes for ever . I don’t want to push that button any more to turn it off , I think e torque doesn’t make any sense I put my money in the trash buying e torque thanks
Preston, do you have a video on the trailer braking system. I tried to back up my UTV trailer yesterday (does not have trailer brakes) and the truck kept locking its breaks on me and would not let me back up; going forward not problem.
If they are full size keys, then they are to open the driver door if the fob battery or truck battery dies. Also, if you have the bed divider, then they aren’t used to lock that. If they aren’t full size keys, then they might be for a spare tire lock.
I don't see many people use the power adjustable pedals. Usually, it's married folks with a big height difference. You can shut off the cylinder deactivation by using the gear range select.
Preston, is there a way to turn off the auto up/down mode for the front windows? I’ve seen videos for resetting it TO auto mode but none to turn it off.
If there is a way to disable the auto up/down, then it will most likely involve the service department at you dealership deactivating the sales code through the OBD port. Or a third party programming device. Those are just guesses though.
What can you do if your key fob doesn't sync with the truck. Example. You get in your truck and a message says key fob not sync press ok. You press ok and drive onto the mall. You shop and now it's 9:30 pm Saturday night. You get in the truck and nothing happens. You know you need a new key fob battery but all stores are closed now. What can you do now?
Hello. Just came across your awesome channel. We just got a new to us 2019 Dodge Ram Bighorn, and we are overwhelmed by all the computer stuff on it!! We LOVE the truck, but we are discovering things about it everyday. One thing that we are wanting to know about is the two lines on either side of the speedometer. The instrument panel we have is different than the one showing on the manual. Could you tell us what those are for?? We have subscribed to your channel and are looking forward to more of your videos. You explain everything so easily!! Thank you!!!
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 it is black and white. We are thinking that it could be monitoring what is left in gas tank, and how many more miles we can go on that tank?? That's just a guess. The numbers keep going down, so we are beginning to think that is what it is telling us!! Thanks so much for your quick response!!!
i just bought the 2025 hurricane and i notice that my milage range to empty will only show low miles when i restart the energy after it already below 50 miles. For example, when the range miles show that i have 43 miles to empty. Then stop at a friend house turn off my engine. Later on i restart the engine and the milage range will only show the word low mileages to empty. it will not show how many miles to empty until i refill the gas tank.
I wish the phone screen didn't always pop up whenever I get in and start the truck. Is that normal to display the phone screen when connecting to your phone via Bluetooth on startup or did the phone screen somehow get programmed to the fob profile?
It sounds like that might be the case. I’d go out and start the vehicle, put the radio screen on whichever function (radio, FM, satellite, etc.) you want to show on the radio when you start the truck, then program the memory profile for that key.
I have a 2020 just bought. Is the key in my hand when I touch the door handle is it suppose to unlock or is it a certain model. I have the 1500 big horn Lunesta sport.
Would u happen 2 know why when I try to push on my high beams on it says it's enabled but won't turn on? But if I pull the switch towards me it does come on?
Do you know of a way to turn off the radio frequency transmitter on the ram fob. The Toyota can by holding the locking button down then hitting the unlock button twice and turns back on by a press of any button. It is a good theft deterrent as well as using a signal blocking shield pouch for the fob. Ive google it from head to toe and not found anything for the ram fobs.
I’m not aware of a way to do this. How do you know the radio transmitter is off with your Toyota? Are you concerned about the key fob sending a signal constantly?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 you know that the Toyota transmitter is off because it will no longer open the door or start the car, it is a well know feature among Toyota fan boys. I'm not concerned about it sending a constant signal, I'm more concerned about hackers stealing the car by picking up on the signal with a scanner.
Just bought a new RAM2021, my daughter might of touched something now the front (can be wheels) are making a sound and I’ve only had it for a month:((( I’ve been a careful, I need some answers or help pls
just noticed my 110 outlet isnt working on my 2017> i do not have the on off switch as dome of the older models do. Any idea what needs to be done. I have never used this before. I needed it for the first time and it didnt work.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 yeah it definitely unlocks when I put my hand in the handle, I’ll check if the button locks it.. oh, and I just found a half-sphere sensor-looking thing on the handle of the tailgate, same idea?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 that makes sense, I’m still getting used to having one, I don’t always use it, I figured it was lower like in the bumper, but yeah you’re right… lol I’m still finding things after 2 weeks of having it… love the truck tho, love it.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 I want to get my truck either leveled or lifted, no more than 3.5 inch lift if I do, it I also don’t want to void my warranty… your thoughts? I found a lift kit company called BDS, they have lots of videos on here, that claims to not void warranties and will even send a lawyer to court if they try, but hassles of any, kind I like to avoid… Am I better off having the dealer do it with ram equip? I’m sure it’s a lot more expensive… I called my salesman and asked him, he said lifts don’t necessarily void warranties, but really wouldn’t elaborate beyond telling me to call the service dept…
I would start by disconnecting and forgetting both devices from each other. Then, I would pair them again. If that doesn't work, then I'd pair a different phone to see if the second device sounds any better. If the second device sounds better, then the issue might be with your phone. If the second device sounds the same, then it's probably an issue with your vehicle.
When I hit the button behind the left side of the steering wheel it changes my radio stations, but does not navigate through my presets, it just jumps to random stations? Can I set this for presets only?
The buttons behind the steering wheel can’t be reprogrammed (to my knowledge.) There are three buttons behind the steering wheel. Top and bottom on the left side will seek up and down on the radio dial. The round button in the middle will cycle through your preset radio stations.
+UNSC011001 I've never experienced a number being saved and then lost. Saving a number as a favorite is pretty straightforward. Pair your phone, give permission to all of the questions. On the favorites screen, press the add favorites button, choose the contact, then choose their number.
If you have a UConnect 5 radio (2022 trucks), be sure you do this in your driver profile. With UC5 radio, go to driver profile page, choose your profile, then edit profile, then more settings, then find mirrors and wipers, uncheck tilt side mirrors in reverse. With 2021 or older trucks, On your radio screen, go to settings-mirrors and wipers-uncheck tilt side mirrors in reverse.
The directions in the second part of that comment should work for you! If you have memory seats, then you MIGHT have to re-program the seats. I don’t think you’ll have to do that though.
Sometimes I can be listening to my music via Bluetooth from my phone and I turn the volume up and instead of the sound going up it decreases has this ever happened to you?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 sometimes it’s both, the dealer checked it They couldn’t find anything wrong because it didn’t happen when I took it up to the dealership
It was on an older vehicle. Not sure if they replaced only the knob or the whole radio. Since you are experiencing it with the bluetooth, has it happened when only your phone was connected or did it also happen when a different device was connected?
Does anyone know if the 2022 Ram Laramie 4x4 crewcab with the front bench seat, with Level 2 equipment group, tow package, off road package and advanced safety group comes with the lumbar button that has both up and down capability as well as inflate/deflate feature?
No, you have to get a Laramie GT or go to a Longhorn or higher. The Laramie GT requires bucket seats on the front row. The bench seat isn’t available on the Longhorn or Limited.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 Gee, that stinks. Thanks for the information and prompt response. Is the 4 way lumbar available with any bench style front seats? I've got the 2019 Laramie 4x4 crewcab off road package 8.4" screen bench front seat and it's got the four way lumbar. I can't believe it's no longer standard on this. I also have the tow package with tow style flip mirrors and air suspension. They aren't auto/electric folding though. The new 2022 Laramie has the electric folding tow mirrors. Why would they discontinue the 4 way lumbar?
I didn't see anything in the current owner's manual about calibrating the compass. On the old body style 1500, you would go to an empty parking lot (without light poles or other metallic objects), and drive in a circle a few times. Is everything else working like it is supposed to with your radio?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 I did the circle thing. I think it's just broke. It worked the first few days I had it. As far as everything else goes, yesterday the radio powered up with the RAM displayed and that's it. Nothing worked. After a few car power cycles the radio rebooted. These are not good signs for a truck with less than 800 miles. ☹

Preston, great video! Is it possible to upgrade to memory settings? Or more expensive than it’d be worth?
Thanks!
This was a very helpful video!!!
Thank you!!
Thank you sir!
I definitely have questions
Great video information! I have a 2019 Ram Rebel and I can’t use my key fob for setting my front driver’s seat because there’s no memory button! Why is that?
+George Rusnak the memory seats aren't standard on the Rebel. I'm not sure about the 2019 models, but on the 2021 model you have to have the comfort and convenience group for memory seats.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 I understand and this info is very helpful. Thanks again for your help Preston.
Glad that I can help.
Hey Preston if you have WiFi hotspot on your phone do you still have to pay for WiFi in the truck itself.
Yes, the WiFi hotspot on the truck has nothing to do with the WiFi hotspot on your phone.
Hay quick question 🙋 I still have never figured out how the wireless charging works. Is there a turn on her turn off just putting your phone there doesn’t do anything.
Currently saving for a Ram 1500 Limited, hoping to get one for under $150,000
My 2020 Laramie is Hydro Blue (two-tone) which in my opinion is the best (but rarest) color.
Love the Hydro Blue. I haven’t seen it in two tone.

Great job.
The +/- buttons are basically used to set the max gear you want the transmission to shift up to.

I just purchase a new 2021 Ram Laramie it cam with 2 fabs and 2 keys . What are the keys for ?
If they are full size keys, then they are to open the driver door if the fob battery or truck battery dies. Also, if you have the bed divider, then they aren’t used to lock that. If they aren’t full size keys, then they might be for a spare tire lock.
Power adjustable pedals is the most useless option on my truck. Cylinder deactivation is a close second by it wasn't optional.

What is different about your instrument panel? Is it color or black and white?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 it is black and white. We are thinking that it could be monitoring what is left in gas tank, and how many more miles we can go on that tank?? That's just a guess. The numbers keep going down, so we are beginning to think that is what it is telling us!! Thanks so much for your quick response!!!
Is the truck a new body style or classic?
Dodge didn't make trucks in 2019 seeing as they stopped in 2008. You have a 2019 RAM!!!!
i just bought the 2025 hurricane and i notice that my milage range to empty will only show low miles when i restart the energy after it already below 50 miles.
Certain models. If there is a little black button on the door handle, then it will work. Typically it’s on the Laramie and higher trim packages.
Would u happen 2 know why when I try to push on my high beams on it says it's enabled but won't turn on? But if I pull the switch towards me it does come on?
Your truck has auto dimming high beams. The high beams will automatically turn on and off based on the detected light levels.
@Preston Flaniken Sells Cars awesome I turned that feature off and I'm able to control it manually...thanks so much!
I would start by disconnecting and forgetting both devices from each other. Then, I would pair them again. If the second device sounds the same, then it's probably an issue with your vehicle.
