Know it’s kinda late now but the flags you saw on the trees are probably Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags. There’s usually some mantras written on them and it’s used as a sort of way to spread blessings (when the wind blows the flags flutter)
Great episode!! Those are Tibetan Buddhism prayer flags at the trees, it's supposed to spread Buddhist prayers when wind blows on the flags, I guess they also function to ward off negative energies in general.
14:30 Showing us the sites where things took place with google map helped me grasp just how eerie that experience is. That’s such a smart and nice detail you added, gave me a good scope of the place you visited.
It proves that the German girl shrine is totally haunted, if you guys happened to go there , be careful about what you say that will offended the nearby spirits
I went there in 2019 with my friends. We couldn't sleep the whole night because these entities kept haunting us like pressing our tent from above, pulling my friend's legs, showing their figures from above, and trying to open our tent' zipper. We also heard footsteps once we got in our tents. That place made my atheist friend become a believer lol
I'll come in with a possible explanation for the singing(?). Sound travels pretty far across bodies of water and from the map there appears to be two different quarries: kekek and ketam quary. Perhaps there were some people chilling on the other side of one of the quarries singing but ya'll didn't manage to bump into them. Personal experience of this was back in Tekong Island during an outfield when all of a sudden the forest was just filled with very loud and noticeable muslim chanting. Felt a little spooked but it turned out that the chanting was coming from Malaysia across the straits, so ya'll might have experienced that rather than sp00ks.
I remember this happening to me during BMT hahaha, for a second thought it was some Bunian people, However Sushi went to the cemetery at 0200 and there is no call for prayers around that time so highly unlikely it was a mosque nearby
When i travelling in the day at Pulau Ubin, i can even hear the call of Prayers from across the straits. Its quite possible that it was music being played and not some ghosts.
@@irfanrosli8220 Yup definitely, it'd be extra weird if it was chanting that sushi heard haha. My example of the muslim chanting in Tekong was moreso a personal experience of sound travelling hella far across water, and it'd be way more likely that there were people vibing on the other side of one of the quarries and sushi just didn't manage to meet them

Went to that one camp ground that is a former military training camp for OBS on Ubin. Altough it looked very sketchy, me and guys stayed up all through the night and early morning and explored the entire camp grounds. From my personal experience, about 10 years ago. I had gone camping with a group of friends to Pulau Ubin for fun but after having fun riding the bike and do all sort of stuff. We decided to camp near some shoreline.. We setup our tent and chill for the night. That's when things started to get scary as we bunk in the tent like 4 of us. I am the only one can't sleep for don't know for what reason. I heard a rustling sound like a prisoner with ball and chain tied to the leg, that sort of sound. It was moving back and forth outside of the tent for quite some time. If i remember it correctly it was around 4am. And the worst part is i need to pee so bad. So i tried to wake my friend up and only one of them woke up. And he also heard that sound. We sat there for like few hours till my bladder about to burst. After around 6 plus in the morning the sound faded away and i get to peacefully. We tried to see if there's anything and imitate that sound around our tent but nothing that i can explain. So that's my story for Pulau Ubin. 🐸
Hi sushi, I was wondering if you could do an episode where you go somewhere that’s least likely to be haunted and then put your devices to the test. Just to see if they would be really inactive. Something like a control vs test location

there are kelong around ubin, around 15 years ago i went camping overnight with school, the kelong was blasting KTV music and singing loudly throughout the night, barely slept, not sure if the singing might be from kelong, cause i dunno how far away that cemetery is from the straits

as someone who's gone to pulau ubin for OBS camp before, i've kinda had the same experience of the "singing" you heard, my group and i had to camp out at a place called "kekek quarry" which was pretty damn far from anything else too... i'm not sure if it's near where you were, but i have also heard the same singing and music that sounded like a male's voice, and it creeped me out too since it was odd as we were in a very deserted area and yet the singing and music was really prominent.. maybe it's the same singing that you heard, but nonetheless it really left me at unease and i hope it wasn't the singing of a spirit :,)
bruh tell me you didnt watch till the end without telling me. At the end he showed the map of where they were, and the place he heard the singing was right beside kekek quarry
I think you should try getting the brightest torchlight in the world for this kind of expedition. Start by shining that torchlight at the rusttling trees.
Sneaky, man, the things being a Dragon prince makes you do lol You've really been stepping up your content with these videos lately man, I would love to see you going to hunt UFOs some day, or visiting other countries to do these trips to haunted places. If you ever come to Costa Rica I'll would gladly take you to a couple of heavy spots of activity. Hope to see you soon travelling the world doing these
Further inside the track, near the kekek quarry and beyond, is a big OBS campsite and its occupants often do hiking/trekking around that entire area. So perhaps the singing came from that direction.
@Radeiculas If it's kids, perhaps not. But personally, I have seen SCDF senior officer trainees also use that campsite as part of their course. So it's not always just kids. Maybe they weren't hiking at 2am, the sound could be just travelling from their campsite.
Thanks for posting this video, in particular I had a very similar experience when serving national service. We were in the thick of the jungle when musical instruments and singing was heard. The funny thing is that no one can make out what language it was nor what type of instruments were playing and it comes and goes intermittently….I was a tank commander and my tank was parked in the furthest position of a tactical formation and the voice was like 5m or so in front of our tank in the thickets. When I realized there’s no infantry men around our tank is when the chills went up my spine…
1:44 so I kiiinda geek out on historical fashion and if the German girl died during WWI, then she must've died around 1914-1918, and the clothes of that era are NOT like that. That crinoline silhouette is reminiscent of 1840-1850s instead, 1914-1918 has way narrower skirts. Not to mention if she were in the south east asia, she'd have less layers and some of them even adapted a kebaya style with european influence. If ghosts dresses in the clothing they wore when they died, then this evidence is most likely not of the german girl!
Sound does travel further at night due to lower temperatures. And it could be cooler at the cemetery as its mostly forested & near the quarry. Someone could have been in the vicinity of the cemetery. But it’s better to be safe than sorry. I wonder what’s creepier, seeing a ghost or some deranged person chilling out in a cemetery.
Seriously. If I heard damn music or someone singing I'd immediately run away 'cause that aint no damn ghost that's a creepy ass human😭😭 I would instantly assume they're murderers and run away
waaaahhhhh I was an intern at National Parks Board in Pulau Ubin! back in the 2000s. never stayed overnight. it didn't feel spooky or anything during the daytime. The main issue for me was that I was arachnophobic and everywhere I looked there was a fricking spider. Some built webs as big as a human being. But I couldn't complete my internship because I fell off a bicycle and broke my hand about 100m away from one of the cemeteries there at exactly 12 noon. The way it happened was a little odd to be honest, and I didn't think it was anything paranormal at the moment (cuz the only thing I was worried about was whether I had accidentally fell into one of those huge ass spider webs) but some people who've heard my story speculated it might have something to do with the cemetery. It was also a Chinese cemetery. They also have Malay cemeteries. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the cemetery or the road I was on. However, some time later I heard that they had closed off that road cuz there were many people who fell off their bicycles there. If the information I got is correct, at leat 2 people died falling off their bicycles and hitting their heads as well. But I really dunno if that's just a story being told around there or if it really happened.
I like sushi's investigations because they seem really genuine. You see the progress from when he wouldn't get responses to when he would and that makes the investigation seem more probable
Got potential this ghost series... niche in sg. Used to watch those ghost exploration documentaries which were super popular I like how the clip doesn't only emphasise on the super drama spooky stuff. Time to expand the ghost hunting crew to like 4 or 5!
11:44 I thought I saw something on the tree, like a big shadow blob staring at Sushi and the cameraman. And on the REM pod segment, there is actually a light orb dashing by Sushi
Was on OBS camp many years ago when we heard singing becoming out from the forest at after midnight too. Our OBS instructor told us it was prayers from Malaysia being echoed back at us at the campsite and we slept soundly after... after the camp ended, we rmbed there shouldnt be any prayers done after midnight.. 😢
11:22 I dont think that is a grave, I think that's the 土地公 shrine. Chinese tombstones usualy have this at the side for us to pay respect to 土地公 before we visit our ancestors during tombsweeping.
@SneakySushii Nice lah, I don't have the balls to explore like this, but your experience in this video in particular vindicates my belief of a spiritual realm.

@@SneakySushii Bro, this is the video title "Haunted Offshore Island | Mr Zhou's Ghost Stories @ Singapore Sightings 周公讲鬼, 哪里有鬼? EP2", pretty scary that you had similar encounters like the cold chill and singing...
As far as my knowledge, the flag that you saw near the shrine is a flag to keep ghost away There's a haunted house in my city that's absolutely surrounded with those flags But the way the flags in the video are placed is unusual, usually people would place it around something to make an area
I think a popular radio show also went to Ubin last year for their UA-cam show and encountered the same singing voices at the Chinese cemetery. And that was also when they ended their recording and went home. Not a coincidence both encounters were recorded on video!
lets be honest, just cycling in the pitch darkness is enough to make me go NOPE. what more going to the shrine or cemetery. dont apologise for calling it off. you and star did great.
i was looking for a new ghost hunting channel to follow, i appreciate the chill vibe and taking all possibilities into account. no over the top screaming or anything, its great. i think i'll subscribe!
this was pretty chill, as in both chilling and chill-dude-talking-casually-to-ghosts. Could be that those ghosts at the benches interested in the guy, and just hovering around figuring who he is, a scientist? And they could be checking out the pod, that's why it went off
I remembered the first time I camped out at Pulau Ubin and saw a dog barking furiously at pitch darkness for more than an hour. It stood its ground but never dared to chase whatever it was seeing. On the same night, my friend and I went on a night walk equipped with torchlights and chemlights to bring ourselves back to the campsite. During which he took the lead. It was a jungle path that we scouted earlier in the day with a bridge that we intended to use as a marker to turn back. At one moment, when I shone my flashlight at his back, I was confronted by the sight of him walking towards a brick wall that I had never seen before. At first, I thought we got lost, but after shining my flashlight at his back again, I no longer saw that brick wall. Maybe I merely hallucinated that brick wall, but I can't explain the dog's behaviour on that night. These oddities don't just happen at night though, for I've experienced a moment of pure silence in the jungle before, which was filled with the noise of animals like a few seconds ago or so. Despite these, I still adore Pulau Ubin for what it is - the final tropical paradise in Singapore waters. Yet, I sometimes think that's probably the reason why so many Ubin residents choose to stay there forever and continue to reside there in the afterlife.
Went there years ago and was doing a nightwalk with my camping group, forgot the exact location but we were walking through a path with forests on both sides. That was when we suddenly heard chattering, similar to the kind of noise you will hear at a coffeeshop, in the middle of nowhere. Not a far fetch from you guys hearing music being played they probably having a party over there
I just watched a video History Mystery about Pulau Ubin. One of the interview with paranormal investigator mentioned there was an burning incident involving Chinese Opera team. And re watching this video back, my guess is that was that you heard, the singing. Now it just make it more eerie now

PS: i suggest you go for some cleansing ritual even if you dont believe in ghost. Just to be on the safe side.
Buddhist tibetan flags
Yea it is tibetan Ik

Interesting. Is the song like some kind of folk song or something? (Im not Chinese)

nah, it was the chorus part of Josh Turner's "Your Man", search it up and listen, it matches every beat and note.
insane footage you guys caught, even got chills myself hearing the singing as it started to get louder.
I went there in 2019 with my friends. We couldn't sleep the whole night because these entities kept haunting us like pressing our tent from above, pulling my friend's legs, showing their figures from above, and trying to open our tent' zipper. We also heard footsteps once we got in our tents. That place made my atheist friend become a believer lol
bro literally had the balls to do these video for us and it quite entertaining to watch! thank you sushii!

My example of the muslim chanting in Tekong was moreso a personal experience of sound travelling hella far across water, and it'd be way more likely that there were people vibing on the other side of one of the quarries and sushi just didn't manage to meet them
I heard the chanting during my BMT outfield too. Can’t recall what time it was, but it was dark definitely. Really did spook me out 🫠
In the vid, my first feeling is it's muslim chanting, and i support your theory!

Regarding 11:33, the 'grave' that is off the place, it's actually NOT a grave, but Hou Tu(后土), a deity that oversees the land. You'll pray Hou Tu(后土)first to thank the deity for blessing and protecting our ancestors before you can pray your own ancestors. Old graves will always have the deity on the tomb.
I think the flags were a Shaman's doing. It's used to ward off negative spirits I think.

Went to that one camp ground that is a former military training camp for OBS on Ubin. Altough it looked very sketchy, me and guys stayed up all through the night and early morning and explored the entire camp grounds. Even the area with the high elements that was pitch black and separate from the man site. We encountered no paranormal activity whatsoever, but that night felt like a sauna. Damn humid and uncomfortable, but didn't get any mosquito bites luckily

I honestly already love this guy and im gonna sub, he's respectful to the spirits, he's entertaining, and he doesn't cram a narrative of "Look guys! A ghost! Be scared!" down our throats.
Second this!
Sushi, do it in your own home!
@@joshuatay maybe his devices will sound off in his home too because.. well..... :X
He goes around random apartment blocks most of the time tho. Aren't those usually unlikely to be haunted?

as someone who's gone to pulau ubin for OBS camp before, i've kinda had the same experience of the "singing" you heard, my group and i had to camp out at a place called "kekek quarry" which was pretty damn far from anything else too... i'm not sure if it's near where you were, but i have also heard the same singing and music that sounded like a male's voice, and it creeped me out too since it was odd as we were in a very deserted area and yet the singing and music was really prominent.. maybe it's the same singing that you heard, but nonetheless it really left me at unease and i hope it wasn't the singing of a spirit :,)
bruh tell me you didnt watch till the end without telling me. At the end he showed the map of where they were, and the place he heard the singing was right beside kekek quarry
i'm glad ur vid appeared on my feed. You're the first sg'rean channel i sub to!
Ur very brave to venture the Plau Ubin island in the dark. It's a very spooky place and there's an old Chinese Cemetery there too!

Further inside the track, near the kekek quarry and beyond, is a big OBS campsite and its occupants often do hiking/trekking around that entire area. So perhaps the singing came from that direction.
bro OBS wont let the kids go hiking at 2am!!
@Radeiculas If it's kids, perhaps not. But personally, I have seen SCDF senior officer trainees also use that campsite as part of their course. So it's not always just kids. Maybe they weren't hiking at 2am, the sound could be just travelling from their campsite.
@@MightyPooPSTEAMbut why the music got louder?

Thanks for posting this video, in particular I had a very similar experience when serving national service. We were in the thick of the jungle when musical instruments and singing was heard. The funny thing is that no one can make out what language it was nor what type of instruments were playing and it comes and goes intermittently….I was a tank commander and my tank was parked in the furthest position of a tactical formation and the voice was like 5m or so in front of our tank in the thickets. When I realized there’s no infantry men around our tank is when the chills went up my spine…
10:52 bro... you just saved yourself by looking into the camera and not the tree... because that's where the party is... 😂
Guys, Penny was just trying to get a McDonalds order sent.
Poor girl just wanted a Happy Meal 😭
I didn't even watch yet but still know it's good, that's how good his content is.
If this was shot on 16 September, the singing might have been from the wedding we held in Changi Fairy point. Song was Your Man - Josh Turner 😅
Was it on 16 Sep Sushii?
Song fits music

Not a far fetch from you guys hearing music being played they probably having a party over there
I am a huge fan of MindseedTV, OmargoshTV and Twin Paranormal, so it's pretty cool to see some Singaporean ghost investigating content!
I just watched a video History Mystery about Pulau Ubin. One of the interview with paranormal investigator mentioned there was an burning incident involving Chinese Opera team. And re watching this video back, my guess is that was that you heard, the singing. Now it just make it more eerie now
