Today, we're so privileged to be able to see these things from our homes. Only a decade ago you had to be a student to witness it.
You don't really see much more of the brain as a student. Difference is you have that awful scent of fixation fluid
im ctfu your so right
And a decade before that, you had to be a mad scientist to witness it.
all jokes aside though, my local library had VHS tapes with this stuff on it in the 80s, so what your saying isnt true..
you could still technically see these things in your home... albeit the data wasnt as good as it is today.
and it was def harder to find, and you had to go looking for it.
@ungratefulmetalpansy yeah but none of those have a person that explains it to you like ther internet does now. Oh my
@@wertialexander7711 Seriously..... Im watching this on the laptop....and still can smell that stuff!! I actually checked around! Lol
Appreciation for the person who donated his or her brain for study and presentation on the internet. Not sure if this person has been credited in this video but without his or her consent this wouldn't have been such a success.
Better not to know him/her. Somehow he donated his body to science maybe. Please focus on the topic and lesson, and appreciate yourself and your God.
Without her they would take another between the thousands of donors
of course. sometime, someone donated his/her brain for the study. but this one seems to be artificial. i think the real brain is softer.
however, very useful
The person who donated his brain is now working as a lawyer for JPMorgan & Chase.

All of the UBC Neuroanatomy videos are nearly perfect in every dimension (content, style, delivery, videography, sound score). This is the finest example of medical education material I have ever encountered.
Thanks so much. Are you a student , faculty, or just a curious viewer?
Medical student (pre-clinical), previously a Master's student.
@@ubcmedvid currently doing psychology master's. Your videos saved me during the entrance exams😭.
We're excited to announce that Season 3 of Neuroanatomy is coming very very soon. Just putting the finishing touches on now!

I remember watching this video as a medical student and now I'm a doctor. Thank you for your enlightening videos
All the best in your career!
the way you handled the brains to enlighten millions of brains is brainstorming....kudoos to all educators over there
This is why UA-cam is valuable as a free lecture on science and expand our knowledge in areas we might not have access to outside a university. Great invention our brains created
We have made two seasons of Neuroanatomy. The second season focuses on the Head & Neck how information from the outside world makes it into our CNS -- how we swallow and breathe (overview), how & why we can see (the orbit), how & why we taste & enjoy food (infratemporal) and superhighway nerve connectors in the skull (pterygopalatine). Hope you enjoy!
perfect videos thank you so much. ı am so regretful because of not seeing them before...
UBC Medicine - Educationa
Icant get any videos about the blood supply to the brain and the blood brain barrier
Can't wait please,really nice videos

One of the best neuroanatomy videos I've seen - brilliant!
Imagine, someone's entire life, memories, experiences and feelings are in that brain. Damn.
It's humbling, isn't it?
Yeahhh
I feel ashamed i did not think about this at all.
This is simply wonderful! I've never been taught anatomy this way before. Thank you so much, UBC Medicine, I'll be raving about this to anyone that cares to listen❤️
You are welcome! We're happy to be filming Season 3 this fall, released in 2018
This is insane! Education is so easy to access now in days and the quality is better than some classes.
The cinematography of these videos is just perfect. The lighting, framing, close-ups etc. are masterful.

3rd Year Neuroscience student with an exam on brain structure coming up, finding these videos was a godsend!
wow. never seen educational as this good!
Thank you
Also, I really appreciate that you included in the video the process of cutting the brain. It's usually hard to imagine the overall position of the parts of the brain when we're directly provided with the cut section already.
From far east thank you for the informative simple and concise manner in representing such a complicated human system.
Your neuroanatomy series are genius! Thank you for putting all the effort and creating them!

As a disabled person who is constantly around drs, please remember to take your patients feelings into account. I know it must be easy to get wrapped up in an interesting case or to just want to fix the physical issues. But the best drs I’ve ever had were ones that made sure to connect with me on a human level.
