I am neurology resident. I was learning ct brain with great efforts. But your lecture is perfect and taught almost all the things that I learnt in a year. Thank u sm
This video is awesome. It really helps alot when you watch it over a couple of times. Thanks for the website information. I bookmarked it to be able to review.
I am a 5th year medical student, which means I still have 1.5 years until I become a resident, as of now and I was leaning on choosing Radiology as my future specialty. In my country it is the hardest to get matched into and you need to be top few % from thousands to match into it and I was getting discouraged by how hard it is. But this sparked my interest once again and made me realise that this is what I want to do. Thank you so much!
I started R1 last week on neuro, and I have been feeling so lost (expected to read head CTs, but with no one ever sitting down and showing me how) that I honestly doubted picking this specialty. This video has given me a lot of confidence to read more, and I'm now almost looking forward to work tomorrow. Thank you so much. I will watch this again and again until all the subtleties (e.g., common blind spots) stick. You're the man!
I just started my neurosurgery too and I feel lost as well! they literally expect u to know everything in a short time. I hope we both get motivated and do our best. Good luck
As an R1 radiology resident on my first ever neuro rotation, this was invaluable... At least now I have a systematic way to approach a non CT head... Thank you!
what is the name of the software you use? otherwise, i must congratulate you for the video. i'm a neurosurgery resident and i found this extremely useful
the video content is clear, well-organized, and easily understandable. I've been searching for learning materials on X-ray and CT, but couldn't find any. Thanks to UA-cam for recommending your videos. It's really incredible. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Hi Doctor could you please help me, Iam 32 I got cranial ct scan with siemens 16 My total mAs value is 4751 total DLP:927 Ctdivol 51.52 xray tube current :460 (I think fix value) exposure time 500 . Doctor, total mAs value isn't it so high? I am seeing this value on my patient protocol page, I dont have dose report page so it means I may have get more DLP and mAs? Patients protocol page time is before than scan time. is it normal? If I had Dose report page it would be more accurate because it shows value after ct scan procesure?

Content is great. But what is even more awesome is your way of teachıng ! You seem to be born to teach. I mean it. Btw what is the software you use to get the dıfferent windowing, planes etc ...I mean is there a software we can us at home such as the one we would use ın the hospital? I find it very usefull to scrollıng down all the 3 planes, ı.e. sagittal, coronal, axial simultanesously.
It seems to me medicin can’t treat ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes, so diagnosis is all great but then only pretending you can effect the outcome. At least how I’m reading this right now. Endovascular therapy (physically removing a blood clot) seems to be the only therapy with some improved outcomes in disability. I think this only applies to geriatric patients however who have bad blood circulation in general, so that the unblocked arteries are not enough to perfuse the brain via the circle of Willis. Whereas young patients are often asymptomatic with a blocked artery due to say dissected artery, because by design the blood supply is more than sufficient still and the clotting serves to heal the dissected artery and is only transient. Given that hemorrhagic stroke has a 4x higher fatality rate, and probably even higher when excluding the geriatric population, it seems prevention should focus on hemorrhagic stroke for non-geriatrics. It seems to me given all this, warfarin blood thinners are risky. The risk of hemorrhagic stroke is 3x more for people on warfarin. Antithrombotic drugs and risk of hemorrhagic stroke in the general population, 2013
They taught us this when I studied for my PhD in neuropsychology…long, long ago…in a galaxy far away…they combined us with neurology residents for some of our classes…it was fascinating because we do need to look at CT and MRIs occasionally…that said…technology has definitely advanced…this refresher has helped…you’re an excellent instructor…I added my np on top of my PhD to give myself more flexibility…this is excellent instruction
What’s your opinion on using the zoom feature during a head ct scan? Mine was zoomed in at 154% and everything appears blurry and my jaws and upper neck is cut off perfectly. The exact spot where I have extreme pain. It took the guy exactly 10 minutes from me exiting the machine to having my report printed. How can 10 minutes be enough to read over 300 pictures?
GOLD STANDARD. I've watched a dozen "intro to neurorads" videos first block of R1. Start with this 1-2 times by day 1 and you should make a good impression
Amazing stuff. Watching this for my neurology exam. I think I've already understood most of brain imaging relevant for the exam but this is definitely helping me consolidate my knowledge. Next year I'll have radiology, I'll totally come back to your channel, you just gained a faithful new subscriber brother.
I'd like to practice interpreting images from real patients and present them on Pacsbin what you've done so well, while I failed to upload files to Pacsbin. May I ask how you did that?
I've been trying for days to complete watching this tutorial, but it freezes at 30.40 min every time WTH. I'm in a very intense CT program and really need all the help I can get. too bad I couldn't get this pages to play. :( I've trying many internet connections and different computers all stop at 30.40min.....
Your video is really helpful bro but it will more effective and easy to understand if you highlights the area not with just courser but with different colours.
Thank you very much for posting so informative video. This is so comprehensive that we feel nothing left. This clearly shows your command on the subject.
