    Hey, had a question- would it be ok if I kept the light gates vertical? Need to know because I just gave my p5 in f/m series, and I am expecting a 30 or 29 in case they cut a mark for the light gates!

    can i calculate the accelaration using the formula (v-u)/t or is that going to differ

      If you use that method, you'll need to have two light gates, to measure both v and u

    isn't the formula for a supposed to be a=(u^2-v^2)/2s since it is a deceleration?

      In my systems, the STUVA equations are fixed! I only sub in negative a values if I know it is a deceleration. You could also change up the equations like yours there!

    Will the light gate not be able to work if there was no card on the trolley?

      Light gate can work if there something that interrupts the light beam - if no card, the trolley may not fit between the light gate then how? Or if the trolley is odd shape then cannot work properly :')
