      @@mafurock33it’s called paco and a tiny house for a reason. It’s not supposed to feel luxurious. If you want the fancy tiny house effect go for it. I thought it was fine. If it was my house I would just have my washing machine out on Terrance and you wouldn’t have to worry about someone damaging it or stealing it cus Japan is so safe as for the bed he can install curtain covers over it

      @@mafurock33I agree about that third sink, that's a little confusing. Better to have space for a washer/dryer.
      But other than that, I don't think there's much wrong with the bed placement. The little partition is set up to have a sense of separation and protection. It's not the door exits into a hallway into the rest of the building. That's the whole building.
      That area is the living/work area that is benefitting from the best light thanks to the tarrace doors. You want to take advantage of the good light, and take advantage of feeling like you're in a bigger place by being next to those doors where you can see out.
      And then having that long terrace area gives a place to walk around a bit, have some fresh air, have a space to work out, etc. They showed off how well it's blocks a view from the outside. I think that's all great.

    Thanks for sharing! I love watching tiny apartment tours. 3 sinks in a tiny house is too much, they should get rid of the one in the laundry area, then you can place a bigger washing machine.

    I really like this PACO house! It's so well thought through and organized that it feels small but not tiny, especially with this lovely terrace. The only thing is i don't think anyone would need 3 sinks on such a small surface

    Most US cities can build such a huge parking lots but cannot build tiny micro apartments like this that’s good enough for one person to live. I hope we could have this type of concept of living for hardworking single people.

      Amen to that. We need to seriously change zoning laws in the US. I should be able to afford a nice place for me that’s 1/3 of my income. Preferably not sharing walls with crazy neighbors.

      I totally agree. I'm a 58 year old female and physically I can't work like I used to so I work 4 days a week. With a car payment, car insurance and other bills I can't afford a place on my own. I want to be on my own but rent has gone up SO MUCH. Even just renting a room has gotten waaaaay out of hand. I would be happy with a tiny house but I can't afford it. 🙁 I just need something small that I can afford and actually have money left over for food.

  • @MaryannT
    @MaryannT 6 місяців тому +28

    This one is really nice and would work for a single person perfectly. Especially for a single person of older age, who won't climb up and down every day: all rooms are at the same floor, all rooms are close by, and one can stay independent longer in such a space. Also will work for a student or a young person who is not building a family (with other humans :) ) right now. A pet will fit here, if it is a dog, cat, fish or smaller rodent/amphibean.

  • @NicMercy
    @NicMercy 6 місяців тому +43

    This is surprisingly efficient. If I changed anything, I'd remove that sink from the laundry area to fit a stacked washer dryer, replace that tiny fridge with a drawer dishwasher, and put a 10 cubic foot fridge where the microwave cart is and just put my microwave on top of the fridge. I'd also not want the built in cooktop on such a tiny counter. For that I'd just use a portable electric burner that I could store away when not in use and get a sink cover for even more counter space.

    • @menchita
      @menchita 3 місяці тому +2

      Those portable burners (I use an induction one) are game-changing, my kitchen is roughly the same size as this whole house but, as I'm currently living by myself, I still use mine just to bypass the hassle of maintaining (cleaning, stocking gas tanks) the built-in butane ones.
      Just take it out from a drawer, use it, eat, clean it in like 20 seconds, and stash it in again.

      I would move the mini split somewhere else. I would have you walk into the kitchen and on the back of the kitchen area (where the bed is now) would be the shower and toilet. The washer/dryer would be under the kitchen counter. Bedroom area would be furthest from the entrance.

    The lay out is correct, and because this could be modified to fit preferences, I would do the following changes. At the entrance I would place a couch that can be turned into a bed in the night. I would place a curtain or screen in the closet. By the sink, I would place a rack from ceiling to floor to maximize storage and space for electrical appliances, etc. I also would request the bathroom sink to be removed to allow for a bigger washer/drier combo and shelving above. I would also request the patio fence to enclose the whole space, with an access door in the back, so I could place a small shed and a grill in addition to a small dining table. The price is reasonable. Thank you for sharing. 🙏

    I would: swap all or most of the terrace for an actual bedroom (I think I would like to keep a small outdoor space); use the main room as a living room, moving the door to where the bed is now so that there can be a small entryway, and add small sofa or sofa bed where the door is now; move the toilet shelves upwards and move the toilet over so that I have room to sit comfortably, and add a bigger bathroom sink, perhaps in the corner (fingertip sinks are no use to anyone); install a proper cooker top with at least 2 rings; re-order the laundry room so that I can have a washer-dryer combo; add a toaster oven on the kitchen cart; put a door on the wardrobe.
    I actually like this even though it doesn't sound like it! I would just move a few things around just a little.

      have to disagree - bedrooms are over rated - am 26 yrs in my studio apt and have never missed having a room just to sleep in - the 20 yrs before that I suppose as a student then young single working professional I boarded and only ever had a room like our host (minus the washer) - the first 19 yrs of my life lived at home part of a large family so rarely had space to myself - so for many of us bedrooms are over rated - this apt ticks enough of the right boxes for me that if it was where I needed it 🇨🇦😉 and not in a corner of what seems to be a parking lot (noisy) I’d snap it up in a minute - YT recommended it today and it was fun watching it again - thnx for finding so many interesting micro / tiny apt 🇨🇦🙏

    Good afternoon Ussui.
    I loved the Paco house. It's almost twice as big as your apartment. I understand there is no rent here, which is also a good point. However, I get the impression that your washer could fit into the laundry room environment if that little black shelf was removed. But if you say no, of course I believe you. I like this one better than the other one with the bed on the second floor. The terrace has an open part where you could enter without any problem, or have I seen wrong?
    I loved it. The only detail is its location, on the side of what looks like a busy avenue.
    A hug from Lima, Peru.

    It's a really cozy home but tbh even for me, who likes to live alone and such, there's so much wasted space in this house and the terrace is the biggest part of it. The house could've been in L shape and you would still have a decent terrace with a very big bedroom, decent size living room/kitchen adjacent to the terrace. Besides, i don't think you'll be inviting many people too if you live in a tiny house 🤣.

  • @sfee6506
    @sfee6506 4 дні тому +2

    Thought it was a cool idea in the beginning. But after getting a better look, I think there's so many improvements that could be made. For example, 1 person does not need 3 different sized sinks in 1 small space! I'd increase the kitchen sink and remove the sink in the laundry area and maybe the toilet. The laundry area could also be the walk in closet and the current closet a small storage area with CLOSED storage so it won't look so messy. Also, the aircon above the bed is a disaster waiting to happen (when the aircon starts leaking). But still, a good start! Also, moving the kitchen to be outdoors, or half-in and out or something would be a better use of the outside space! Also the food smell can waft away~

    A varanda, área externa, faz toda a diferença no conforto dessa tiny house, usaria para receber visitas, tomar café, cultivar plantar, guardar bicicleta e secar roupas.
    O valor, em reais 🇧🇷, 150 mil reais 🇧🇷, é o preço de um apartamento conjugado no Centro do Rio deJaneiro, e não é tão confortável quanto essa paco. O inconveniente é ter um terreno próprio para instalar. Em cidades pequenas do Interior isso não é problema, mas no Rio de Janeiro, em áreas regularizadas, é algo muito difícil e muito caro de comprar.

    It's a nice design. Can definitely live here. But I think they should remove the sink in the laundry area so a bigger washing machine can be installed.

    Thank you Usui for showcasing such wonderful apartments. I love this design. For me I would like the terrace enclosed as it looked open at one end? I could be wrong though 😂. Thank you from Melbourne 🙏💗

    Domek jest mały a jednocześnie pojemny. Ma też możliwości aranżacyjne. Taras powiększa powierzchnię uźytkową. Od siebie dodałabym drzwi do szafy - zamknięta wygląda bardziej estetycznie

    Ok, this design is better. Can always put up a curtain/ cloth between the bedroom & kitchen to avoid your clothes & bedding smells like food. The only problem is the location, which is next to a busy road. Fumes, dust & noise pollution 😅

    First you must have groundplace for the house. The house is beauty and have a good inside place. I think your washingmaschine can stand on the place, is big enough. The terrasse is for your private life very good. I love this house.

    This is an amazing idea in theory, but in practice I'd personally want the terrace space to be apart of the house for a little bit more space. I like bigger kitchens and I want a big space for a wide table and a proper PC.

    That terrace is everything! I absolutely love it! However, I thought that the house is another very good option. The kitchen area has enough space in it and it can accomodate at least one or two people. You can definitely add space saving kitchen storage wares and make it seem a whole lot larger. The bed area is sufficient but, for it being right by the door is a little too tacky for my taste. And the bathroom is typical. The laundry space...they could have done better with that. You will definitely need a smaller version of your current one to fit in that space. Last, the price is definitely too high. I get it that they used a high quality metal but, its basically just your normal average house...just smaller. Most small homes Ive heard of is way more than that and doesnt come with the conviences that Ive seen here in this video.

    Upsides:
    1. The use of black color gives off a very modern feel.
    2. Galvalume metal is not only highly resistant to corrosion, it reflects away sun and heat as well. The result is that, though this tiny house is made of metal, the interior won't be too hot even during summer.
    3. The floor plan is very functional, with separate shower room and toilet room.
    4. The patio makes the interior appear to be much bigger than it actually is.
    5. Price is very reasonable.
    Potential downsides:
    1. I hope this tiny house has reasonable sound proof, because it is located on a street with quite a lot of traffic. If it does not have decent sound proof, the traffic noise from the street could be an annoyance.
    2. Galvalume metal, the material used to build this tiny house, reflects away sun and heat, keeping the interior cool during summer. On the other hand, it also means you may need to keep your heater on during winter, potentially hiking up your utility bills.
    This tiny house is an interesting product. Thanks for sharing.

    I would see about putting in a staircase and put the washer under it. Move the shower to where the washer is now and the toilet where the shower is. Then put on a second floor, if possible for the bed and a terrace/patio.
