Happy days congrats mate!!! Keep the head down smash it in March and you’ll be good to go! You’ll be here in time for Operations 😎🤙
Rangers clear the way 🟢⚫️🇬🇧
Absolute legend mate thank you ‼️Honestly couldn’t be more exited to get going mate! 🇮🇪❤️🇬🇧
Thanks for the insight. Looking to go to selection in June for 4 Yorks. Even just been a reserve unit Can honestly say at 37 and been a bum for the last few years and letting my fitness dwindle, I was quite worried. This has been a massive help and now It's down to me to put the work in myself. Also congrats on passing and all the best for the future..
Had my AC on monday, passed with an A. your video really gave me a useful insight. thanks for that, and for anyone else who has theirs coming up, at the end of the day, you're all nervous, the staff arent complete animals with you and its just a couple of tests and a run. you'll be fine!
Just thought id Drop back here to say that I’ve just Passed My assessment Centre ! This Video gave me a very good head start !!
Congrats ! I have mine tomorrow but I can’t find my glasses lol do they send you back if you don’t have them
Legend brother thank you and well done! ❤️

Cheers for making this video mate, really helped me calm some nerves for my assessment on the 19th of March, also good luck on your start date!!!
Thank you brother best of luck!! 💯❤️‼️
Thank you so much for this I wish you the best in the army! Will defo be watching more of your vids:D
I passed out Phase 1 last week, my advice is dont be a snowflake, you will get shouted at, told you're shit but just just get your head down and do as they say. If they say the sky is green you agree with them. Don't be a jack, be confident and make mates with everyone and keep on top of your admin. Put 100% in thats all they want. Surprisingly we didnt run that much and when we did it was only 2k. Try and get your time below 9.20 and you will be fine. Good luck lads 🇬🇧
Absolute legend for that nice one brother appreciate it big time 🔥💯❤️

I went to glencourse barracks for my selection about a month back! I also got an A grade. Well done pal! My experience was very different as I went up the night before and stayed the night, was a good experience to be honest because it gave us an idea of what the next day would be like. We also got a couple of tests done the night before, so that was a relief as we only had the medical and the bleep test to complete until you get to your interview. I have to go for a hearing test next month and once that has been cleared up I get my start date, I still got my pass certificate though even though I failed that part of my medical. Good luck mate
Thats interesting bro nice on for sharing that! Im sure youll get that sorted anyway mate cant see why they would have given you the cert otherwise, best of luck though brother and thank you!
Great to watch, just waiting on my assessment date looking to go into the RMP and have already passed the cognitive test with like a 68 - 70 score best of luck lad

Quick question, to get an A grade, what scores do you need to get in the tests? Is it just high scores?
Thank you so much and best of luck with your selection !! & im not sure on what scores specifically you need but as long as you give 110% you should be proud regardless! 👊🏻‼️❤️

For anyone who has assessment coming up, medical is the biggest ball-ache you'll have to do... with fitness as long as you stock up on carbs and rest before you go you'll be fine and really is down to how much time you put in.
[EDIT] good luck Ryan be looking out for you at Catterick on the 28th, I'll be there on the 21st of March
Same date as my mate alex bro! Your spot on there tho brother 💯 & really appreciate that , might catch you in a few weeks! 💯❤️👊🏻‼️

Great informative video lad, lots of detail. Thanks for the insight on the colour perception test, do you know what the pass mark is for the lantern light test is? I’m colourblind but I can see red , green and white lights clearly . Do you think you scraped by that part? Thanks

Well done mate! If your still wanting to go MP you can ask your recruiter to put you down as that since your now qualified. I changed my role after selection.
Thank you brother & its good to know as an option but im very set on the RIR and i know thats where i want to be now, appreciate it brother 💯

In the medical- when they check your joints are you sitting upright on a bed, and do you have to do squats or something like that?

Congratulations on getting in.
Btw, do you know what the army's requirement is on myopia? I've searched this up but I can't really find a definitive and consistent answer. I have poor eyesight and I don't know if I'll get accepted with my nearsightedness.
Great video mate, very helpful and some brilliant tips and pointers. All the best with your career in the army buddy👍. Have my selection on the 25th off March, a bit nervous with a few things about injuries I had when I was younger but are not effecting me now coming up in my medical. Any tips for the medical side off the assessment mate, Cheers

See you there tomorrow,para’s aswell💯
Awesome video🙏🏼🙏🏼!! I’m just getting started in my process to join the RIR. What happens after training, do you stay based in England or do you get the choice to go over to Ireland?
I believe you stay based in shropshire mate but worth asking on one of you calls before you start basic trainning
Well hope you’re well, just wanted to ask how long did you have to wait from meeting with local career officers to being at the assessment centre? Thanks 😎
Not sure why I just sat and watched the whole thing as I did and passed my assessment centre months ago but great video x
Who did you join?
well done lad i got an A myself but ive got to wait for a start date because there are no reme intake at the moment
I probably should have said that in the video haha, fantastic though mate well done 💯❤️
Hey man, loved it! Will we be able to take our countries equivalent of your gsce? I'm assuming that's just a matrix certificate is it correct?
nice vid mate. so am i right in saying it was only a day you were there for? or did you have to stay overnight?
Well done mate! I had my selection on the 2nd March and got an A Grade, joining the RMP in September 🙌
Love it bro well done, your going to have a class career! Thank you lad 💯‼️
Why RMP?
@@j.d757 the career looks exciting and varied, it is also the regiment that requires the highest cognitive score so it’s an achievement to get the requirements
How was your assessment?
@@krisprikitilnanaerrol4747 it was amazing, you will think it’s harder than it actually is, but it is challenging. The people you meet are all spot on which makes it easier to relax and do your best
Question: because you got good scores in your physical tests, did they ask you whether you were interested in joining the paras? Thanks.
This Helps So much Dude Have mine on the 9th April !!
Best of luck mate!! 💯❤️
Congratulations on passing selection buddy! Have they squashed it all into 1 day because of covid? My selection was spread over a weekend from Friday to Sunday but that was before covid
My selection is tomorrow.
Tnks man really helpful
If you fail the second colourblind test you can still join, it just limits your job choice (no piloting, movement controller, sparky, etc.). Failing the Ishihara test (the first test, coloured circles with numbers) also limits your job choices somewhat I believe.
@Scott Chegg Yes you can, most combat arms (infantry, cavalry, artillery,) are open if you fail both tests. Depending on how well you score on the rest of the recruitment process, some other roles can be opened up to you that you technically don't qualify for (the Major who did my final interview called my corps' recruiting cell and got me in despite not having sufficient colour vision for it)
@@OperatorKerri Where did you find this information? I've looked everywhere and cant find anything on it. I'm colour blind and wanting to join the infantry but worried about failing both tests.
@@kylehance5316 just passed selection a few days ago and I'm CP 4 colourblind (the worst grade of colour perception you can get) and you can still join the infantry don't worry mate. I'm joining as an Armoured Engineer but my interviewer gave me a handout with all the roles available to people with CP 4 colour perception and infantry is on there. 👍🏻
Can I use my lens during the eye test because I hardly see without my lens..with my lens I see everything clearly at any distance
I appreciate this video so much mate looking to do working dog handling
Wow, seems a lot more detailed than my pre joining stage for the Navy😂, I just did the interview over the phone, went to a private doctors for the medical and went to some random gym for my fitness test although I would say the mental side to it is probably more challenging ie, the maths and English/ mechanical knowledge etc.
Haha ive always been curious on what the navy process is like mate so cheers for that 👌🏻😂, & yeh its a long old day man
I'm off to Lichfield tomorrow, very nervous !
From South wales to.
I'm ready tho 💪🏼
Just wondering was there any specific reason you chose the royal Irish instead of the royal Welsh? Cheers
I’m waiting for an assessment day and I’ve got the same problem with my eyes and I know I won’t pass the first test can someone tell me if the second test is easier?
How often did u practice the beep test before your assessment?
Whittington Barracks Lichfield 😮I walked through those gates in 1989 Prince of Wales Division 22nd Cheshire Regiment… great career 😊
When I done my selection a couple months ago they stopped us at 11.6. But with a bleep score like that mate u should have gone for the paras 😏. But well done mate u smashed it!
They were probably short on time and saw you had loads in the tank, i was blowing out my arse at 11.6 and was the last few of the day 😂 Nice one mate 💯
Well in on the selection process mucker. Great video and very thorough. For your info the colour blind test with the circles is the ishiharas test 🤓.
So I joined in 1991.....and am still serving in one way or another.
I'm a former PTI with a fair bit of experience, although I'd say I'm well out of date with selection testing and the like.
You've chosen the Royal Irish so I'm sure you've done your research with what will be expected with you fitness wise.....for example loaded marches, boot runs. Have you started any training for this? Do you have any military type boots( I heard you mention you were ex military college or something similar)
Let's face it from Newport you have a great training facility known as the beacons up the road!
Good luck for the future, I'm sure you will smash it looking at your 7 P's.

Hi mate really appreciate the message! & yes mate doing all the training now for basic training that i was doing in military preparation college, so weighted runs, hill sprints, 2k runs , press ups pull ups sit ups ect, the beacons are class as well to be fair! how did you know which regiment was the best for you to commit to and what helped u decide?
No worries! & purely because im irish and want to meet more people from ireland as i go over regularly, & i wanted to be in the infantry because i feel it suits my character best and im very active physically
Congratulations mate happy you smashed it. Just wondering is this the army reserves or the proper army
Nice one brother & regular army mate but the process is pretty much the same ( if not identical ) for the reserves !

Get the shuttle runs in mate you’ll smash the bleep test then for sure! Thank you mate best of luck to you!
@ParrChamp you don’t understand how much this helps, in December I was 17.5 stone and could barely run 1k at an 8 minute pace, I thrashed myself over the past couple months and just really want to pass
@ParrChamp I was supposed to have it in January but caught covid so it all got delayed, tbh I’m spot on with everything I need to know about my regiment and things such as TACOS and others, all I need to do now is get in contact with my old secondary school to get gcse certificates
@ParrChamp will do, appreciate the reply!
@ParrChamp hiya mate, had my assessment today and got an A grade, thanks for the tips!
