    So cool that you have the speed run passion, Mads! I absolutely LOVE this creation of yours! And proud to see "Leftfield Thinking" proudly displayed on the body... and what an awesome body it is too! If this was judged on looks I'd vote you for the win! Great start with 34 McKPH. Now do that in McMPH. I think brushless is the way to go, brushed motors just get way too hot when you ramp up the gearing. Wishing you well, mate! :D

      Thanks Mark! Yes, I sort of burned out with the build, it took forever, so it was a big relief that it runs pretty nicely... I think from what I have seen in videos, it's much less nervous in the steering than with the motor weight on the rear...
      We'll see what happens when I up the speeds, see how long it takes before first damages...
      Happy you like my slammed Squash Van, he he, I figured I need to provide at least some sort of entertainment, since I won't be competitive, he he...
      Have a great weekend there, mate!

    I love this build, Mads. The FWD setup is a very cool idea. Great job on the 34 McKm/h, hahaha. And thanks for participating and keeping it so enjoyable!

      Thanks Fil! And of course big thanks to you for arranging this!
      Yeah, I think I like my backward chassis, at least at low speed it handles really well. A bit less nervous, pulls the front forward, should be good... And of course good fun fitting that oddball Van Squash on there, ha ha!

    Nice work Mads, I'll look forward to seeing how your project progresses. Love the body design and innovation on the chassis!

      Thanks Tony! Yeah, I'm excited to see how it goes also, he he... The Squash Van is an odd choice, but somehow seems to work alright on a speedrun, he he...
      The car handles quite well at low speed, so hopefully as it gets faster I will still think it was worthwhile, it seems less nervous than what I have seen in many videos...

    Left field thinking indeed Mads!
    Loving this creation buddy,we can always rely on you to think outside of the box.
    How cool. 🙏
    And,I'm a huge fan of those vintage pick ups,that body looks amazing dude.
    Hoping to join in this class ourselves all being well mate.
    Best of luck to you Sir. 👍 👍 👍

      Thanks so much Yoda! Yeah, that was term that Mark Bryan taught me, so I figured I would give him a nod and include it in the paint job...
      It's funny, I am not a fan of those trucks at all myself, I just wanted something different, and the Squash Van body was the cheapest Tamiya body I could find, he he...
      I managed to give it a small durability test yesterday, it seemed to hold up to the abuse... For now...
      Hoping to see your entries also sometime soon, dude!

    nice intro, car looks cool, can't wait to see how fast you can get it to go!

      Thanks Killer! Yeah, 34 McMiles is my official aim, but I have no actual qualified guess what I might end with. I know that when I get to around 50 mph, my talent runs out and I crash... So I'm excited too, to see what happens...

      Thanks Paul, it's all about having a bit of fun! I know I don't like driving crazy fast, so I won't be interesting to watch from that perspective... But hopefully I'll be able to add my own flair or flavour or whatever, he he... Yup, McMiles are cool!

      Thanks Jeremy! Yeah, I realised I completely forgot to mention the body in all my rambling... It's of course the Tamiya Squash Van, chopped a bit, he he... I may need to talk a bit more about that in next video...

    Very cool setup Mads! Love the look of it and you should go ahead and stick in a brushless set and feed it the beans! LOL!

    • @madsrcbuggy
      @madsrcbuggy  13 днів тому

      @@AddamsPlayground thanks buddy! Well, I finished building it with the brushed motor, so that's how I'll run it for now, he he...
      But I was ordering pet food on Amazon and needed free shipping, so I may have accidentally bought a 6700kV motor, definitely that's the beans, he he!

    Hey Mads, I really love the body you have for the speedrun challenge, open grill to keep the electronics cool and the rear end is awesome. 34 kph (21 mph) isn't a bad start, to forget that you are out there doing a speedrun and just having fun means that you really are having a blast running that machine. Keep up the runs my friend and take care and stay safe.

      Thanks Pete! Yeah, somehow I thought that Squash Van might be fun, and also complicated things for myself doing the chassis backwards... Drives well at low speed, we see what happens when we up the speeds...

    Hi! Happy to see you having fun with your own car. The front biased weight distribution should be fun to drive, as I felt while driving my TA03F. BTW, I love the line like "I found this part somewhere in my strage...", true craftsman right there 😂

      He he, thanks Sakura! Definitely having fun! And that's how many of my cars are built, just whichever parts I could find... I must have something like 10 Tamiya cars with G6-01 parts in it, he he...

    Very cool construction. I really lile the reversed design. I have one question, is the motor not timed? Still searching for one under 20T for my Clod.

    • @madsrcbuggy
      @madsrcbuggy  16 днів тому +1

      Thanks Dirk! Yes, I think the car handles quite well. I haven't tried the original Tamiya MF-01X, but from what I've seen in people's videos, it has too much steering for a speedrun, very nervous.
      I don't know, buddy! I sort of thought a bit I might be running it slower backwards, but I didn't really care... For a Clodbuster, of course you need pretty much exactly same speed.
