Mads' RC Buggy

Just RC buggies, no BS, ha ha! A truggy or a truck here or there, but mostly just buggies and a bit of mild BS.
I took two Kyoshos for a bash | Dirtmaster | MP10e
It's all about just having that bit of fun before the winter hits, right? Check the video, it's all slow motion shot in 240fps, and with a cool tune to listen to, enjoy!

Thanks Peter, it was a pleasure being in your challenge! And nice to clock a pretty decent speed, too! So my three runs, 24 mph, 34 mph and now 41 mph. I'll put links to the other runs below: ua-cam.com/video/IfW6sfgtC38/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/1xT7_W2Xe-Y/v-deo.html That was pretty much it, thanks for watching!

I finally got myself over 24 mph, Peter! Have a look, and it was with a Torque Tuned 540 and very small wheels, even... It's not really cheating, but it is also a bit of a loophole? Is this speed accepted? Anyway, whether you are in a speed challenge, or you just want to go fast for some other reason, I sort of documented how I achieved this crazy tall gearing, low gear ratio: The modifications...

My second attempt to see if I can do anything about that slalom challenge, and I seem to stay in the slow end. But it's all about the fun, try watch and see! First appearance of the old TT-02 after it got retired from last year's Poorboys Speedrun Challenge, it is now reborn as the world's weirdest rallycar. How will it fare on the Mark Bryan slalom challenge? Not that well, but still better th...

Bit different stuff from me, all slomo, heavily processed footage, no sound, just music. Immerse yourself in this, it's a proper Kyosho dirt session! This is my take on a heavily processed video, not unlike the ones I enjoy from @RC-Cinema, so right after this try head over and check his stuff, very inspirational! As always, I chose a tune from @WhiteBatAudio, check Karls music if you feel like...

So have a look here, it's my favourite buggy! This isn't really race related, just about the joy of driving a proper powerful machine. Kyosho. Serious about having fun, they say... Certainly I managed to have some fun with this awesome buggy... It wasn't always like that, I had some issues getting to terms with the buggy... I would blame the track, though. So this is a used buggy, it came built...

Have a look at this! After loads of issues, this might actually be one of my best RC's and best videos. The old Grasshopper, definitely an out-dated piece of junk, obsolete and underperforming, but somehow staying in the game with a certain trick up its sleeve, which is of course the fun factor! I went a bit outside my own comfort zone and ordered me a set of stickers all the way from Japan, in...

Let's see how this goes. If you watch, please leave a comment, let me know how it went. It was good fun but also a hassle. Definitely not a fair comparison between buggies, the damned hill will claim its victims, will these two Tamiya buggies prevail or fail? It's not really a proper hill, it's a pile of evil mean dirt, rocky and knarly, not for little buggies, but they press on. Yeah, hopefull...

Not a dumb idea to bring a couple little RC's, I was lucky with a bit of spare time and definitely lucky with the weather. Waskiluoto, Vaasa, Finland, sunny and nice but still too cold for everyone except the seagull, and me of course. A bit of goodtimes with some small RC cars, basically right outside my hotel room. It was all just a bit of a hassle, but in the end, it drives really well and the video even turned out alright. Chapt...

Hi Siricko, sorry I missed your comment... I think it actually held up nicely to the abuse... The rear cage is broken, and the front is wonky as ever... But apart from that, it's still tip-top! (I also have another video where it gets a proper bash on 3s)
Again a great video 👍🤩👍
Thanks Heiko! Yeah, it was really special to drive a little RC car this fast, he he...
I really enjoy it 👍 many greetings Heiko 😁
Thanks so much Heiko! I didn't manage to get out a lot this autumn, so I was happy to be able to make this video before it all gets wintery and terrible, he he!
That was cool, well done.
Thanks Lance! It's such an old video, I had to go back and watch it again for myself... It was a lot of work to do, so I'm happy to hear it is still of use for someone three years later, he he...
Looks nice, great run! 👍
Thanks KP! I guess you already seen Poorboys RC, that where the challenge came from. Check it out at some point...
Hi, wanna sell it?
No. The Ratchet is discontinued from HBX, but hopefully someday they will re-re it, I will be buying one or two more if that happens.
great video! And Kyosho is one meter higher!
Thanks Nanni! Yes, Kyoshos can really fly nicely, and mostly also land alright, ha ha!
You must be from Austria but love the accent and the rc content from north Carolina usa
Thanks James! I'm from Denmark, actually, but now living in Finland. Thanks for commenting, buddy!
Magnificent, I am in. Subbed and spent $269 in 11 minutes and 34 seconds. Well done
Ha ha, cool, Dev! Happy to have been able to give you enough info to make the purchase, it's a cool buggy, I don't regret getting mine.
Great Run!
Thanks buddy! Sorry I'm slow to reply!
Awesome rc plane video Mads.....oh hang on a sec, they're flying cars!!😂 Those slow mo's came out superb dude, didnt they get some huge air time?! I still fancy getting a dirtmaster, they look like they drive extremely well for what they are! Great edit matey, and sweet soundtrack! 👍 👍 👍
He he, thanks Yoda! Yeah, I really like doing these jump videos, hopefully I manage one more before winter sets in, let's see... The dirtmaster is really good! Mine is a bit underpowered, but still manages alright, it drives well and is good fun. The build was a pleasant experience. Only thing I didn't like was the body design, so I was happy to get an aftermarket one. Thanks so much, buddy! It's not my normal music taste, but works really well for videos, he he...
awesome mate 😊👍
Thanks Dom! I love these two buggies!
Looked like fun out there! Both looked great and I loved the dual donuts at the end!! It was funny as in the beginning I saw the tires on the MP10 and said boy those are pretty cooked and then you mentioned you were finishing them off at the end! LOL!
Thanks Addam, I had a good time, it was nasty cold but worth it! Yeah, definitely gotta change those tyres over the winter, I got some really nice knobby ones for the Dirtmaster, hopefully they fit the wheels, he he...
Awesome jumps in slo-mo with the sun behind 👏🤝
Thanks Coy! Yeah, I love jumping these, especially the big MP10e, and I was lucky with a bit of sunshine, too!
Amazing video and good sharing my friend ❗✨🤩
Thanks Manta, I had a good time with these buggies!
@@madsrcbuggy 😊
Wow Mads, some awesome air-time there my friend, wonderfully captured in slomo! Looks even better in the spooky setting sun. Yeah thre music was cool too! Burn those tyres baby! 🤩🚀👍
Thanks Mark, I was so relieved to finally get out for a bash again! And happy I got footage worth sharing, all worth getting cold fingers for, he he... Yeah, those tyres gotta go now...
Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's right, Damian, thanks for the comment, buddy!
I thought you were gonna get beheaded by one of those buggies, lol! The slow-motion shots were killer!
He he, don't worry, Fil, it was slow motion, so I had plenty time to move out of the way... Thanks for watching, buddy!

Thanks Recreepy, sorry I'm so slow to reply!
Just found your videos! Great run! Awesome! Beautiful Car!
Thanks Alton! Yeah, all I wanted was to have a bit of fun in this speedrun, I didn't expect it to drive so nicely, so I eventually made it fast, he he...
That truck body is insane! Love your reaction with your 109 km
Thanks Joe! I really didn't expect that car to be so good and stable, so eventually I decided to put a fast motor in it... It started as a bit of a joke, so I was genuinely surprised to achieve that great a speed...
Hey ... Er du fra Danmark ? sounds very Danglish ( no offence. I would also go for Danglish ) ;) følger lige lidt med
Hej Allan, Jeps, Danmark!
Good luck ;0) den går stærkt
Awesome video man 👍🏾
Thanks buddy, it was good fun doing these challenges.
Love that truck shell!
Thanks Arky, I had good fun with this one, I didn't expect it to be actually fast, he he...
Awesome RC man!!👍🏾
Thanks man! Sorry I'm so slow to respond, been a bit hectic around here, hopefully calmer soon, he he...
Great runs and fun time!
Thanks, man! Sorry I'm slow to reply, been some hectic days... Yeah, I had good fun with this build, didn't expect it to actually be fast, ha ha!
Man I’m so happy for your speed you got. Totally luv the body and the mounting method you used with Velcro. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks Luke! Yeah, that speed was way beyond what I would have imagined. I had fun with the body, and I knew I needed to mount it firmly, so I was happy how it worked. I will try using Dual Lock in the future, might be even more firm...
What an awesome run! That’s an incredible speed!! Love the body work and your lights so you can actually see the car! lol - great job!!
Thanks Freddy! Yes, this went way above my expectations this year. I was planning to just be in brushed category and was literally aiming to stay below 50 mph, but a turn of events just changed everything, he he... Yeah, I had fun with the body, and I was happy I added the light, was much easier to line up for the speedrun...
Awesome run Mads and very cool build!!
Thanks Chinook! I had a good time with this car!
Great job Mads! Excellent run!
Thanks Monkey! I was surprised it went to well, it was very exciting!
Hey Mads, just listening from the beginning that you have caught the speed run bug. The excitement during the run tells it all. This is a heart pumping moment when the joy and fear hits you take a little time to come down from that high. 67mph is awesome, are we going to see another run with the Sonic Bread Wagon? Take care and keep the fun coming
Thanks Al! No, the Sonic Bread wagon is retired now, and I am just tired, he he... Cool name, though, thanks! Yes, I was very excited about this, and as you know, the damned camera picks that up, every grin and laugh is included in the videos, he he. Goodtimes, my friend!
Awesome runs brother! Enjoyed watching your speed runs! The car looks absolutely awesome! See you next year!🤜🤛
Thanks man! Yeah, cya next year for sure! Was good fun this year, and I have a lot of UA-cam watching to catch up on, both speedrun and other stuff, he he...
Great runs. Love what you did with this. Well done.
Nice job! Love the reverse built car.
Thanks Optima! Yeah, it started as a joke and somehow I decided to commit to it, and I am happy I did, it was very stable and drove really nicely at speed, very balanced!
Wow! Nice run Mads. Congrats on topping out at 109km/h!
Thanks Sean! I was really pleased and surprised to get to this speed, it was great! Funny, I am actually contemplating making a slalom challenge car out of the retired speedrun car, he he...
@@madsrcbuggy nice! Looking forward to the slalom run.😊
It is a bit nerve wracking to watch them flying past you and hoping you don't crash! Congrats on exceeding your goals with it. I have to get over 70+ mph to be happy with mine but honestly I guess I need to get a legit pass in first LOL! I am glad you had so much fun with it and congrats again!!!
Thanks Addam! Yes, watching the footage, it looks a bit wild... As I remember it, the car was very controllable, and I wasn't worried at all driving so close by myself, perhaps I should have been... With the front motor, I reckon a crash would have been really dangerous... I was happy to achieve this, maybe I'll aim for 70 next year, no idea what's my situation then... This year was a bit too busy to commit to a challenge, but I know you know that situation also... Have a good one, I look forward to seeing you crack that magic 70 McMiles speed barrier!
@@madsrcbuggy I think with the front motor layout you went with it really helped with the stability. All the weight up front and over the steering and pulling wheels lends itself to being controllable. The rest of the car weighs very little which also helps when slowing down, which can be super tricky with them stock, unless you hit a big post and then it is effortless and it stops immediately!! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground Yeah, man, I was really lucky with that motor placement and weight bias. I think another factor I learned more about since last speedrun is the differentials, I have virtually locked the front and stiffened the rear a lot. The car tends to want to go straight, so the steering is really gummy and lazy, very big advantage on a speedrun car... Partly I am relieved it is over, but the devil in me also wants to get back at it, hopefully not before next spring, ha ha! Yeah, no idea how I managed to avoid the big drama this year, but at least you provided.🤣
Wooooow! Congratulations Mads, that is awesome! Way to go my friend! 👍😊
Thanks Jeremy! I'm totally amazed and surprised with this myself, I can't understand how I could achieve such a result... Well, it's on video, so I'd better believe it, he he... Now just looking forward to getting back to proper RC stuff, sadly the summer is over now also...
Crazy car, I love it 😊 Congratulations on your result 🎉
Thanks Michi! Yeah, it was a crazy ride this year, from that stupid decision to drive the chassis backwards and being forced into "Open Class" and all that, it went pretty well, after all, and I had a good time, also!
Excellent work Mads, so close to 70mph but brilliant to go over the 100kph mark , you cant quit now ;) . It looks like there had been a donut competition going on behind you judging by the tyre marks 😂
Thanks Tony! Yeah, close to 70, but I am plenty fine with this achievement, it is way beyond what I expected... I don't have the time to invest into a proper approach to this competition, so I'm okay with this... Yeah, those boys probably come there every evening, having a good time, they probably were annoyed with me and my toy car there, he he...
Wow !!! Well done ✌ 3 digit even in km/h is always very satisfying. Perfect 👌 Congrats 👏 💪🤝
Thanks Coy! Yeah, we do like our kilometers, he he! And three figures is so cool, I did not expect this, I am very excited!
Eyeyey... great improvement👏👏👏
Eyeyeyey, exactly, Dirk... Thanks buddy, I am really excited I achieved this kind of speed... We like our kilometers, and 100 is such a great number, he he!
Excellent video. Remember to just have a good time!
Thanks again, Paul! Yeah, this one really got to me... I wasn't expecrting much, but lots of events turned this around to be not only fun, but also quite a big speed achieved, he he...
Excellent video!! Amazing that feeling when you go over a certain milestone isn't it? 😊😊😊 happy for you
Thanks Glenn! Yes, completely amazing feeling! I think the camera caught much of it, but even after I got home I was still floating on the clouds and couldn't fall asleep at night... So weird, this performance hype, he he...
😀109 km/h is awesome 👌 love your excitement with that, brilliant mate 👏 👍👍😀😀😀
Thanks Playtime! Yeah, I never expected such a speed, so I did get really excited and of course I couldn't hide it, he he...
Amazing run! Car is awesome! congrats on the 109kph!
Thanks so much, JYD! I'm really surprised I achieved that speed, chassis backwards and in "Open Class" and all kinds of weird stuff...
Very cool💪🙂❤️🔥
Thanks Fortes, I had a good time with this.
That was the best SRC finale video I've seen to date, Mads. The excitement in your voice when that 100+ km/h popped up was so awesome! I'm glad you had fun, dude. It's always so great having you in these speed run challenges. Hope to see you back again next year!
Ha ha, thanks Fil! You know I try to deliver, especially on entertainment factor... I was never expecting to go this fast, I almost doubled my initial target, and I have to admit your strict rules that forced me into "Open Class", I owe them the success... The ability to switch from brushed to brushless is truly a blessing, I know I will go for "Open" next year also. You can definitely count on me for SRC, even when you choose a crappy chassis like this, I needed to reverse it to make it half decent, ha ha!
oh, I have no words. The first try was 21 or something, but now 67....😆
Ha ha, Sakura, I have no words either... I wish I could speak Japanese, he he... 67, I am completely amazed, I did not expect that... Thanks for the comment, my new friend!
@@madsrcbuggy hahaha, I can teach you one simple word "Yatta---!!" to celebrate yourself when you did it
That was a wild ride, Mads! You did so well especially from where you started and with such a radical design, mate! That is an amazing speed to get out of a little Tamiya so well done my friend! I think you did everything within ze rules, as you are in open class I don't think it matters what type of motor you used. Thanks for being here in the competition and entertaining us so well! :D
Wild ride is what it's all about, Mark! Many thanks for the nice comment as always, my friend! Yeah, Fil replied to my email, so I am also guessing the run is approved... I'm amazed where this year's speedrun took me... I wasn't going to put much into it, but suddenly I commented on an OAG video I might run it backwards, and then I did that and extended the wheelbase and suddenly had to enter "Open Class"... Then the weirdest thing happened, the car drove great and suddenly I almost doubled my initial speed goal for this year... All that and when I think back on it, my MF chassis probably hasn't run more than 5 or 10 minutes in total... Such a strange challenge, this...
First!🎉 Brushed in OPEN class! Insanity! Watching with eyes wide open. 1:32
Beat me again Paul! :P
He he, both you two! I appreciate I can trust you'll be watching my videos early on, ha ha! As Fil would say, a small competition inside the competition...
