Coach. I hope and pray all is well with you and your family. All around the world there are many people like myself who cannot wait to watch and listen to your next video tutorial. Especially in these times of uncertainty there is one constant in our lives and that is a most excellent and well presented tutorial from yourself. I only wish I had a coach like you when I was boxing... someone who had your inordinate passion, your communication skills and your love for the art which is displayed clearly and unequivocally each and every time. You are clearly old school, because you have no problem with sharing the techniques and the whys and wherefores of the art. I know I'm not alone in finding you inspirational and I look forward to many more videos. Keep up the great work and I'm sure you will have more champions in the not- too distant future as life has a way of rewarding, hard work, endeavour and commitment. Perhaps the art of fighting in and out of corners and also ring spatial- awareness would be a cool future topic. Enjoy the holidays.
World Class Boxing Channel You deserve it Coach. You are providing a real service to people who really want to learn and/ or to just get some insight into the wonderful mechanics and machinations of this beautiful sport.
I hope everyone watching this video, who did not grow up with the internet as it is today, realizes how lucky we all are to have access to this level of instruction. Not to mention it is FREE!
There is not enough money for this job. Study the video and repeat the movements and slowly you will discover that you are actually training the mind. Best wishes from Sardinia
The sequence is the following: 1 Slip right (opponent throws a 1) 2 3 Weave left (opponent 2) 3 body 2 Weave right (opponent 3) 4 body 6 3 Slip left (opponent 1) 3 2 Slip right (opponent 2) 2 3 Block right side (opponent 3) 3 2
This truly is world class, best online tuition you will come across. And at a time of white collar boxing where second rate trainers charge hundreds of pounds for fake knowledge, a bona fide trainer like Tom giving you this for free is inspiring.
I don't know how can I thank you for this efforts I am asking God for protect you and your family from Corona virus I wish you the best coach really love you brother because you are really humble and humanity
I was kicking myself for not getting some sort of bag last year for home use like I'd promised, but just shadowboxing every day has really helped and I feel that I'll be that much better when the gyms re-open. I shadowboxed before hitting the bag but treated it more as a warmup than as an opportunity to truly practice, improve and address weaknesses. Thanks again, Coach.
Thanks a lot coach, best UA-cam boxing channel, best coach ever. Great to watch u shadowbox, learn so much about body movement. I think one of most underrated aspects of boxing is how well u must know your body to move it the right way for the punch. Best mechanics definitely Tom yankello. Thanks again , Godspeed and keep it safe
always love the detail of your lessons Coach, this shadowboxing series is an incredible idea! potential ideas for future shadowboxing series: • an emphasis on footwork • a guided shadowboxing regiment (audience can follow along as you coach throughout the session // ex. “work the jab”, “end with power”, “stick and move”, etc.) • circumstantial shadowboxing with a focus on high volume OR power shots OR in fighting OR counters OR in and out OR etc. • the format of what you are already doing here, combination drills that can be used in different scenarios (using creativity + adaptability) • drills for FLOW and RHYTHM // developing that “buttery” shoulder movement OR finding rhythm and breaking rhythm OR etc.
Thanks coach, I have been shadow boxing out on my deck in the morning. My sliding glass door makes a good mirror. I am not a real boxer - do it mainly for conditioning - but I watch a lot of videos to try to get the technique and yours are great. I use 3.5 pound weights. I don't have a rigorous preset sequence like you show here - I just throw a lot of punches, slip, roll, and move a lot. I am doing it again in the AM and will try to incorporate this routine. Thanks.
This is phenomenal. I've yet to find someone who can explain the mechanics as well as you have in this video. With all your references, it's clear you are a student as much as a teacher. Thanks Coach!
Your videos are the best out there. Would love to see a shadow boxing drill that involves a sequence of footwork that works punching in all directions and using angles etc. I presume that would involve slipping and rolling though.
Coach ur understanding of boxing 🥊 is on another level u can project ur ideas with such a way i get it the science behind everything uv helped me improve on so many things Thanks 🙏🏾 coach u the man
I only started boxing a few months back as I've had a back injury for 30 years. Just by watching the videos and going straight to the bag to practice, I've progressed at an exponential rate. I'm a great believer in basics and true and tried methods as I practiced traditional karate when young and if well taught it's also a great art. I really appreciate someone taking the time to produce videos teaching us good basic technique. Thank you from Australia.
Literally was looking at your channel yesterday for tips to freshen up my shadowboxing routine, given our kickboxing gym is temporarily closed. Loved your first installment a while back. Read my mind coach, thanks for this and look 4rwrd to the series. Nice to see the double end bag in your home set up too.
Thank you so much for this video coach. I dont have a heavybag at home and have been using your previous shadowboxing video as a reference. But this right here is on a whole new level
I really appreciate you taking the time to make this. You break things down beautifully. Thanks so much. I hope you and your family keep self and well. 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing this information for free! This is AMAZING instruction! Very clear and straight forward instruction! This is really going to benefit a lot of people.
Great workout for getting through the lockdown. Shadow boxing is, I think, about the best thing you can do to improve, right below sparring and just above skipping, so thanks so much for this. As Quang said below, would love to see more of your stuff on shadow boxing so it's great to hear more are in the pipeline. Stay healthy, guys.
Great video as always Coach Tom! I've purchased and watched all 9 instructional videos and have some observations and was curious if you agree: As you throw a Right Hand you transfer your weight from your Right Hip to your Left Hip as you twist from East to West. The same is true as you throw the Right Uppercut, Right Hook, Right Hook to the Body, or Overhand Right. Any footwork immediately following the Right Hand (or other Right punch) would require you to move your Right Foot first. As you throw a Left Hook you transfer your weight from your Left Hip to your Right Hip as you twist from West to East. Any footwork immediately following the Left Hook would require you to move your Left Foot first. Now, it seems that as you throw a Left Hook to the Body (or a Left Uppercut) you transfer your weight from your Left Hip to the CENTER of your Hips as you twist from West to East. It seems that you could move either foot first due to the weight distribution. I’ll DM you on IG and perhaps we can set up a Zoom session. Thank you! ~ Andrew G.
Your shadow boxing drill video that you have launched many months ago, I still have practiced it. These drills #1 & #2, very interesting I will try to do as your instruction. THANK YOU coach.
Thanks coach that was amazing! Trying it right now until I can develop the proper flow. Is there some drill that focus on defense (a chain of 3 or 4 slips/blocks finishing with a couple of power shots)?
Great video, and love your content. When the whole virus thing is over im hoping to come out to Pittsburgh for my friends graduation and would love to drop in for the day and experience your gym and training. Huge boxing and fight fan. If its posaible to make a video request, can you do a breakdown on Willie Pep? Thank you and be safe out there!
Wow, thanks for another great video, Coach! I loved this sequences of defenses and counters! I couldn't memorize it all, so I kept on going back to about instant 10:05 and following along with you. I trained it on both Orthodox and Southpaw stance. Thank you very much and God bless you! I'm sharing this right now! 😀🙂👏👍🙏👊🥊
Coach, I know it’s terrible to say...... I kinda hope we all stay locked in for a lot longer just so we can all see the amazing content your producing whilst we’re all locked down! Many thanks and best wishes from the state (Victoria Australia) that’s been locked down for the longest in the world. Really look forward to the rest of this series. I’m sharing with everyone in my circle.
It would be nice to have your voice on an mp3 or CD giving shadow boxing directions. I would listen to you with my Bluetooth headphones while I shadowbox

Thank you for explaining the reasons behind each detail. Not just telling us to do it, but why you need to do it. Great stuff, Coach.

Best boxing channel on UA-cam.
Loved this! Thanks coach.
Good defense movement - hardest thing for me after 30 years away is weaving blocks and punches together.
Hard work, and I like the way this presented.
Your videos are the best out there. Would love to see a shadow boxing drill that involves a sequence of footwork that works punching in all directions and using angles etc. I presume that would involve slipping and rolling though.
The Yankello’s are wonderful folks. I have huge respect for Tom. Glad I found the channel!

the support! Just an FYI My instructionals break down the basic body mechanics and footwork of 9 punches.
Nice 👍👍👍👍
Just found this. Great instructions so far. Excited to see a nice big instructional series for people to go from 0 to 100 all at home.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Coach Tom! Smooth as WD40!
Quality content, that elite athletes pay loads of money to learn and incorporate, for free.
Literally was looking at your channel yesterday for tips to freshen up my shadowboxing routine, given our kickboxing gym is temporarily closed. Loved your first installment a while back. Shadow box to warm up. You must spar to learn the real deal while still being considered practicing.
This is awesome
You are great , thanks for your videos and have a great easter (I don t know if u Say so in the US 👍
Mimmo fg Thank you and same to you! Thanks for all the support!

Great video as always Coach Tom! I've purchased and watched all 9 instructional videos and have some observations and was curious if you agree:
As you throw a Right Hand you transfer your weight from your Right Hip to your Left Hip as you twist from East to West.
Thank you! ~ Andrew G.
Coach Tom! Are you seeing my comments??
thanks Mr. Tom Yankello!, sincerely thanks!... Gob bless you (and please excuse my little english) ...
Your shadow boxing drill video that you have launched many months ago, I still have practiced it.
These drills #1 & #2, very interesting I will try to do as your instruction. THANK YOU coach.
This is fantastic will be drilling it 🙏🏾
Thanks coach that was amazing! Trying it right now until I can develop the proper flow. Is there some drill that focus on defense (a chain of 3 or 4 slips/blocks finishing with a couple of power shots)?
One of the best videos I have ever scene. Thank you.
Molto bravo!👍👌👏💪🥊
I love how this seemingly simple exercise is helping me fix flaws in my basic technique. Easy decision to like and subscribe. 👍

GOOD VIDEO TOM! APPRECIATE THE KNOWLEDGE.
It would be nice to have your voice on an mp3 or CD giving shadow boxing directions. I would listen to you with my Bluetooth headphones while I shadowbox
I would recommend a million styles boxing... look up Barry Robinson he has a couple of joints that you can lock in and do your thing..
