i am sold on the honor really , battery life better than both and much faster charging with better pixel like style photography , best phone to date easily
And don't forget about the 3800+ pwm dimming which will make it easy for you to use your phone for a long time wothout exhausting your eyes 😊
but it has some - like slow software support, zoom photos are crap

Your comparisons are among the best, TY! Unfortunately all the cams still pretty much fall apart in low light. Looks like we've plateaued in low-light video quality, although night time still photos are still improving.
Still Google is pushing the boundaries in computational photography yet again with features like video boost, by far the best low-light video of any phone.

Colour are little boosted and exposure is little more depending on light .. and more big pixel sensor
But it has worse stabilization. Very wonky like jello on some scenes.

Hello, does it record dolby vision and automatic HDR video while recording video? And I think there is a bit of a shake when the front camera is recording.

Hey Chris, great comparison as always.
I have one main gripe with my S24 Ultra. It's overprocessing all photos to a point where they don't look good anymore. It's visible when going to the gallery the first time where you see some kind of "original" version of it before the processing ends and then it's a mess... Bright colors are looking like shit after that processing.
I found the only way to stop that from happening is deactivating HDR ... but it's only fixing 12MP photos. If I ever try and take 50MP or more, then the overprocessing gets in the way again.
I'm really disappointed with that.

Samsung processes them cuz their hardware isnt great enough to provide better photos. They always boosts colors or oversharpens to make their photos look superior. But they are generally worse

Hey on Motioncam pro now, the latest v3 allows you to shoot directly without rendering. The video are without sharpening and noise reduction.

The new update fixed what was needed to be fixed, the camera of the s24 ultra is already amazing but it needed a few tweaks which it now has, video for me comes out more detailed than my wifes 15 pro max after the feb update.
U get overhyped for nothing. Still far from that claimed as good. My older iPhone takes mostly better photos ofc not at night or zoom, but overall better.... Specially moving objects lol

I think it is difficult to say which phone is the best overall as all three have their moments of strength. But the iPhone never really dropped the ball where both the Samsung and Honor (way too contrasty and saturated colors in some occasions) did show some weaknesses. Great comparison.
I expected more from the honor this year.
Yes, my take on iPhones is apart from video, where it is number one, it is consistent rather than dominating any scenarios or lens. For many of us, being able to point and shoot and know you are likely to get a solid shot is more important than a camera that is hit or miss like the Honor was here.
@@andyH_England i took pics with my fathers iphone 15 pro that looked worse than on my s21 plus. It crushed the shadows and i remember the christmas tree with a window next to it was way too dark. So the iphone can mess up too.

Also did you ever tried the settings in iphone where you can "lock" the frames not to go under the chosen one when filming? 😊
Hi all default settings and the low light I tapped to focus all of them on the palm tree. It's just how it came out and the result I got.
I use Magic 5 PRO for almost a year and it completely replaced my DSLR , something which my previous iPhone 13 Pro was not able to achieve. I believe that iPhone has shill the upper hand in video, but for still images, I prefer the more details and vivid colors/HDR of Honor.
Yes iPhone video still is the best betting all the androids being a lot smoother and more consistent. But for still photography the Magic 6 Pro does better here.
The pictures and videos taken with Honor are too saturated, can you check if the camera has color profiles and what the default one is?
There are 3 main color profiles and one of them is less saturated but not always the best

Maybe it's youtube rendering but I see some microstutter in the Honor video recording but in lowlight the S24U stutters.
Not the original is like that they had stuttering the androids in video worse than the iPhone.

Thanks for this. The microphone difference was surprising to me, and probably not valued as highly as it should be. I've always been extremely impressed by the sound quality of concert videos recorded on my Note 10+, and while I've been thinking about switching to an iPhone, I feel like I'd lose that benefit. The sound quality here was just awful compared to the Samsung.

Before. The photos on all three devices were taken at the same time, and have 19/02/2024 and 20/02/2024 date stamps. That's a couple of days before the S24 update rolled out.

They are doing really well and shown me they can take on both Samsung and Apple with some types of shots, where they lag behind is video performance.
As always. No phones take perfect shots in every scenario. You have to chose the best for the type of shots you mostly frequently take.
I like night shots and deep blacks so honor best for me.

Watching on a 75" the magic comes out a lot sharper for me when u zoom and in general, on all even, the iphone has an AI kind of feel on selfie photos

Someone with common sense. This is what ive been saying for some years. Samsung is not what it used to be, nowdays u have better options for camera: Honor, Huawei, OPPO, Iphone, Pixel, Vivo.
True. Cameras aren't that good specially bad on moving objects. If u aren't steady, it takes horrible photos and don't mention low light. My older iPhone had better image lol.
Battery life? Marketing bullshit. My 14PM had more 4h of SoT on same usage.
Hell Samsung is overrated and the price shows how bad they are... Dropped from 1500€ to 1000€ lol.
I gonna switch back to iPhone.. The only downside is some features on iOS. The lack of freedom. Honor seems cool but if U wanna resell it later, value will be bad!

All these phones provide decent photos. It'll get the job done for most people.
Consider adding these 2 criteria when purchasing a phone. Resale value (for when you plan to upgrade in the future) and Firmware update.
The iphone excels in videography, plus, between these 3, it has the better resale value. If you want a phone which excel is zoom shots get the s24 Ultra with 7 years of update. If you want to get a decent cam with decent videogrpahy but with limited budget get the Magic 6 pro, but the downside of it, between these 3 it has the poorest resale value, and with minimal firmware update support.

Good competitor to the Vivo x100 pro which is actually one of the leaders in terms of camera right now, but in the end it all comes down to price in your area.... I ordered my vivo for 950$ with a "starting price" of 700$.... not all countries get these Chinese smartphones :(

I don't know why Samsung gets so much love from so many reviewers. I would say overall, the SGS24U is in 3rd place, then the honor in 2nd and the iPhone 1st. I've never had an iPhone and won't ever buy one. I have the honor magic 5 pro just now & the camera is great, battery is epic but the software is dire.
