It’s nice to see Union of South Africa has finally found a place to sit on display. Sucks she won’t be running for a while, but you never know when she may run again.
Stunning loco in the correct livery ,a pity Mr Cameron does not bequest this to the team that has SNG and the Great Mac to the NELPG to keep them alive for generations to come
The crest on the cab sides were made by me, the originals were 'lost' apparently. I was a volunteer on the SVR and was asked by the support crew to make the new cab plates, after much research with the South African Embassy, I made and painted the crest plates, I have all the original information if anyone requires it. I began in March 2001 after the support crew request.
last seen at Shildon , lets hope it's not getting mothbald like the rest... oh just seen the caption it is so it's left to Sir Nigel to keep the A4 flag flying a sad end
Shame it going to be static but the costs of restoration to mainline standard are just that too much for the owner John Cameron and no 9 be joining the great marquess in same museum
It's criminal to not have her running. If the new owner can't afford the mainline maintenance, he shouldn't have bought her. He should sell her to someone who can and will.
She doesn't have a new owner, John Cameron has had her since the late-1960s, and he cannot keep two locomotives running on the mainline due to the cost and his age
No-one has bought her, John Cameron has had her since the late-1960s, and he cannot keep two locomotives running on the mainline due to the cost and his age
What a beautiful loco…. Sad to see her laid up. Last time I saw her was crossing the Ribblehead with a rail tour. 😎👍
Stunning paint job, especially with this weather. Top job, top loco.

It looks unlikely to me unfortunately - Hopefully one day in the future though 🙏
thank you ..good to see her what a loco miss her
Glad you enjoyed it - A big shame they’ll be no more mainline working for No.9 😫
Nice video. She’s looks lovely with her new paint job.
I hope she runs again one day
Hi very good camera work as usual great to see 60009 but it's sad that she's leaving bye for now Philip

That looks stunning is she going to be able to run again last time I saw her was in 2013 at Stafford
Not ever booked to run again, boiler tubes (i think) are in need of repair and the owner isnt willing to overhaul them
No. The owner is moving it to a purpose built museum on his farm in Fife, although this mite be not for a while till the site is fully ready
Nice
Wow

First time i’ve seen a nameplate to have two colours
A4s had red/black ans sometimes blue backgrounds to their nameplates
@@daystatesniper01 I know that but I meant as in on the same nam plate

where's the great marquess?
The Museum of Scottish Railways at Bo'ness for the time being.
Why buy something knowing its going to need work doing and then decide not to do it and leave to effectively rot away...
