Love the beautiful painted artwork on vintage toys, I used to love riffling through the Matchbox rack at our local toyshop, they'd never have less than about 100 different models you'd have to pull out to see the box illo. Good times. Wistful sigh... 😌👍

Great video Marc, I love the look of those old boxes, from what I remember, the boxes I had as a kid were really boring, red/yellow with a window and no art work. My dad has quite a few old Dinky vehicles in their boxes.

Very nice. The only thing with dinky is the way the kids always painted them the colour they wanted but you always seem to get then in the boxes. Different times.

At least a few of the boxes seem to be by artists who worked for magazines and comics of the time, although I've been leaving specific identifications for those with a better eye for specific artists. Tyres, windows, and the way the glint of light is depicted along the side of vehicles are the giveaways on a few suspects. Post 1970 would likely prove a tad more difficult to identify names, as there were many, many studios in Spain, Argentina, France, Italy, and elsewhere, providing cheap, fast artists with amazing talent.
Slightly surprised that there wasn't a compare-and-contrast with the art the company used on posters, adverts in numerous publications, and on other things (I'm not 100% sure, but some of the catalogues might have original art on their covers). There are sometimes signatures to be found, but I haven't deciphered any of these.

That's very interesting, I shall indeed take a look at my catalogues.
