- This is toy collecting. Probably the biggest in Ireland. The video is a little wobble at the beginning. Met Martin at a toy fair here in Ireland and he is a sound guy. Here is his Collection. Video is originally from the RTE archive.
Fabulous collection. I could spend hours looking at those and enjoying them.
They must be 35 of the meanest people on earth out there. How could you put a thumbs down to that.

Truly amazing and whats even more amazing is he is Irish in Ireland. Something one would not expect to find. I would'nt bet it's the biggest in Ireland. The country is full of amazing and extraordinary people who are very private about their lives and few knows what goes on behind closed doors. There are other types of collections, equally as fantastic.
Its actually easy to accumulate a collection of such items as I done so about 15 years ago. In the space of 4 years I accumulated 10,000 approx, nearly all Matchbox and their many variants. What put an end to it was a wife! Now shes gone I am at it again but differently and slower.
Foe the few of us who are ignorent and do troll like behaviour. Go away with your worthless, ignorent comments. If you can't say something positive then say nothing. For instance to reply to rubbish earlier posted, Finding something, regardless of condition is treasure to those who want them. Havent you heard, one man's meat is another man's murder??? Dust? Who cares! Varying attic temperature??? Who cares! You have to have such a hobby to understand and appreciate.
That was one very impressive collection! Just that shelf of Guinness cars made my jaw hit the floor!

Simply Amazing!!!-Love the way you won't repaint a playworn.I have a few playworn and to me they tell a story of how these were loved and played with.Love the Enthusiasm you have for your hobby.
Agreed some modles shouldn't be painted just repaired enough to allow them to roll and be used once again 👍
Is Martins still alive? Who will get his collection, hopefully somebody who appreciates it

Oh i really like this guy. He seems not just a collector or a person who knows a lot of cars but he seems a person who truly love a toy car, have fond memories of a single of one them and he,s kind a toy repairer too. Great collection of all sorts of diecats i,ve ever seen and being put in the attics. My word I spend hours and hours looking pondering over his collection. As he lived in Ireland maybe Charlie A can knows a bit about this man..

Whoa!!!! I thought my collection of Matchbox,Dinky and Corgi was huge but this guy is the King!!! Love it. Someone commented on the condition of some of the models. I have a few with dents and nicks no bother to me. Because I played with them as a child and enjoyed plus it has character. Keep on collecting my friend!!!

Didn't see any Corgi Constructor GS/24. My life wouldn't be complete without my GS/24 collection.
Cool patina on them. Just started finding my first ones days ago. The quality of matchbox cars compared to other brands got me interested. Others that are metal frames can also do if I like the car. Greetings from DK

Used to collect some of the corgis when I was about 7 saw 1 of the guiness trucks but didn't get it never seen it since and that was 11 years ago :(

I used to collect military Dinky toys and I had a decent collection with even 17 of the MIB but damn that is a massive collection.

Damn dude, I love your super cool toy collection. But the humidity up in your attic must effect them. No leaks I hope. I’ve been a toy collector for about 30 years now and I love the hobby. Have you got the whitbread 6 weeler Dennis dray lorry which we used back in the early 70s the lorry had a sheet on the back for bottles and tubs

You can tell he's not married,as no woman puts up with every room in the house filled with model vehicles.I put mine in a glass dresser, and my wife says they make the house look cluttered,and she wanted one of the dressers to put glassware and cutlery in, so I put all the vehicles back into storage, where they still are now. Hopefully I might get some proper display cabinets one day, perhaps for my birthday, if I hint a little!
It doesnt sound like she'll buy you a cabinet mark. You'll have to buy one yourself. Or make one. I make mine out of mdf and a clear plastic sheet screwed to the front to protect from dust.

Terrible way to store and preserve models, should be in dustproof cupboards or at leat keep them boxed.
