Well as someone who owns both, white phosphor monocular, and digital night vision, ill run my digital night vision anyday of the week, im not understanding the whole im invisible because i have real night vision... Unless you have a crap ton of ambient light around you will have the built in IR illuminator active, or you'll run a separate IR light... .25 auto in your hand beats the 10mm you have locked in the truck!!!! Yall be safe, (trolls im ready)..
Hmm, interesting. My PVS14 will work in most conditions outside without an IR source. Now still you want be invisible. The light from the eye piece will make you fairly visible. I never wear the eye cup. That would help some. At least my unit and the one my buddy has does really good unless it is really cloudy.
@@UncleDanBand64I dont have 1500 for a pvs with blemishes, would still like to survive a situation where i need some sort of night vision capability and white light makes me visible to LITERALLY everyone. If nvg nick gets me then hey easy pickings.. if i get him i got free nvg
@murderlesson101 Hey, I started out with digital. It actually is pretty good. Some of the Nitefox stuff, Sightmark, etc. 20 years ago it would be cutting edge. The biggest problem with it is, the time delay. Even thermal has the same problem. With PVS14 what you are viewing is real time. I will say this digital is a great way to get in the game.
@@UncleDanBand64 most of what i hear is reddit saying things are unbelievably bad and refusing not to compare it to the real thing, they pretty much talked me out of it last year but now im back wanting to try out digital
NOOO! YOU CAN'T BUY THIS IT'S NOT REAL NIGHT VISION YOU HAVE TO BUY THE SAME ONES I DID THEY WERE 3000 DOLLARS! sniff.. sniff... And plus the IR illuminator will give you away to enemy night vision! - Like we're all out here trying to use these to perform spec ops against near peer adversaries on the weekends. I bought the original one you reviewed. It was good but, since it had no rear focus I had to hold it out for my old eyes to see the screen. This I believe has a rear focus too. I have a white phos pvs14 but, still I am interested in this unit. Probably light enough to wear with the skull crusher.
I think I want to use this unit to supplement using the PVS14 in scenarios I could break a PVS14. Training day with the boys ? This allows me to keep a real NVG safe somewhere else
@tekdoestricks9284 Yes, here is the scenario I see for it. Number one it is probably lightweight. Say I am deer hunting and deside to stay after dark and shoot hogs. I imagine if you move slow it will do OK. Another thing when you are around idiots that shine lights at you. Like you say a Gen 3 PVS14 is spendy. I still could find uses for this.
I have been waiting for this one like Christmas. My only concern is the framerate, 30fps and 20fps at night, which seems to be very slow and laggy even for digital...
these can run at 60 fps, theres an option to change it in the settings, there was a software glitch in the first batch of these though where the unit would lock up if you chose 60 fps. There is a firmware update that fixes the issue
The base is the SUREWO Aluminum NVG Mount, and the two extended arms are from CamGo, with the Long and Short Straight Link For Gopro arms. After a looong time of looking for it myself I'm almost 100% positive this is exactly what he used. I hope it helps
I saw both of your reviews (swift 2/2 pro and this one). Apart from the screen difference and the advantage of been more able to walk with the monocular, is there any other big reason to move to this version?
I tried a gen 1 scope once and it was much better than I expected. It depends on how much moonlight you have but things were clearly visible at 100 yds.
depends on any ambient light in the area. it does have a mode that turns on the IR sensor without illumination, and i've found that it does a pretty decent job improving visibility. still quite a bit of lag, but it's fine for walking around. shadows can remain pretty dark, though.
What you was saying about the seeing the deer, would that be improved if you was hand holding a ir light with a good throw, possibly a vessel type. Pondering the idea of it for night shooting use but would need the use of decent range say 2-300yds.

@@Antonio-kx5rd well if you are looking for a full set up with helm and mounts included... it gets spendy (its all spendy. Hence the buy once, cry once response.) you can start from about 2kish- up to how much ever you are wiling to spend on tubes (just tubes ,no helm or mount.) Also depends on if you just want to go mono, dual, hybrid (NV/Thermal), or panos (roughly 40k for the panos). So to answer your question with the long response... it all depends but maybe 4k on the cheaper side with a mono set up. if you want to pair it with an IR lazer it gets more spendy. im in no way saying you cant get them cheaper than i stated. but thats just what i seen. you have to check deals and multiple seller sites. To answer your question, I've heard yes you can do that, but I haven't personally.
So they make a bridge mount for these so you can rock 2 if you want

you can use it woth 0 ir, its pretty good at night. but laggy as hell
You can't really use a rifle with the binos. This gives you that option

Yes, also disable all IR option.
These or the NVG10? Which system is more sensitive to ambient light with no IR enabled?

Much better FOV (51 vs 25), better fps when you patch it (it's locked to 30 with early production batch 0723), more stable frame rate at low light

No, but It’s something
