Fun fact: After Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs, Comedy Central played this episode on repeat for two hours as a big "screw you" to Kanye.
comedy gold
No, I think it was around 24 hours because I watched it while it was happening and it was WAY past the two hour mark!!! 😂😂😂
What are W from Comedy Central
@@GAMER3Productions damn, you were watching the same SP episode for over 2h?
@@silasarpagaus3520 I think so, I really like that episode.
This episode has a direct sequel -- "The Hobbit". Another absolute laughtrip!
It’s so hard not to quote that episode, but I don’t wanna spoil. Y’all know what I want to say tho 😉
Kanye also appears in one of the computer games as a literal Gay Fish.
I didn't know!
agree! and they removed a part of the ending of S13E5 because of The Hobbit episode, if I'm not mistaken.
And it’s even funnier
This episode is one of my favourites and what makes it even funnier is the fact that Kanye still doesn’t get the joke😂
I think its funnier that some people have spent the past 13 years knowing the guys seriously unstable and get to enjoy all the people now having to come to terms with the proof
Isnt that the whole episode 😂
@@Matman651yeah but its still true like 15 years later lmfao
The best part about this episode is that Kanye actually doesn't get the joke and is still mad about it after all these years.
Lmao no really ??? He doesn’t get the joke?
@@simonsmith3813
"choke a south park writer with a fish stick"
@@simonsmith3813 14 years later & not only is he STILL salty about it but no he genuinely didn't get the joke at the time. Not sure if he does now but he actually didn't back then
Well, he gets the PUN. The irony is that he doesn't understand that he was targeted for his ego. He said in an interview that because he wore skinny jeans and pink polo shirts, 'effeminate' things black men aren't 'supposed' to wear, THAT'S why South Park decided to call him a gay fish. He thinks the joke is that the South Park writers are calling him gay...
@@bigstanko7391 so he still doesn’t get the joke 🤦🏻😆😂
Genius + Gay + Voice of a generation = Freddie Mercury
Freddie was bisexual though, so gay isn't the right word. I really don't like it when people lump bi people in with gay, as if they're the same thing when they're not. Straight/Heterosexual = only having sex or being attracted to members of the opposite sex. Gay/Homosexual = only having sex or being attracted to members of the same sex.
If someone engages in sexual activity and is attracted, at least on some level, to members of both sexes, then he or she is not gay or straight. They're bisexual. There's a huge difference. Many bisexual people tend to lean toward one sex or the other, as there exists only a very small number that find both sexes equally attractive (I'm one of those rare few). However, even if someone is 70% attracted to one sex and 30% attracted to the other sex, that still makes them bisexual.
@@james_ford86 I have only ever heard him described as gay. Also to be honest I don't care, he was an amazing singer though.
@@BX-advocate That you don't care if he's gay or bisexual is precisely why I commented. How would you feel if someone labeled you a different sexual orientation than what you are? Like, say you're straight, and someone started saying you were gay or bi. You'd be pissed, right? And not because you hate gays or bis, but because that's not what you are. Well, it's the same for us.
That said, Freddie was married to a woman (Mary Austin) for many years before he got with his final partner (Jim Hutton). This wasn't a cover, like many gay people have done in the past (marry a woman because they're in the closet and don't want people to know they're gay). He actually loved her, had sex with her many times, and even called her the love of his life AFTER he was already broken up with her. So, the point here is that he liked both sexes. Whether he leaned more toward men or women is unclear, but what is clear is he definitely liked both.
So, the point here is that many people act like bisexuals don't exist, as if we're a myth, and say hurtful things like, "If you suck dick, you're gay," completely disregarding the other half of our sexuality as if it doesn't exist. Again, I don't think there's anything wrong with being gay, or any other sexuality for that matter. I have a laissez-faire approach when it comes to that stuff. If I were gay, and didn't like women at all, I'd have no problem with someone saying I'm gay. But I'm not, so I do have a problem with it.
Now, again, I don't think you meant anything by your comment and I'm not mad at you or anything. I was just educating you on an issue many bi people, and probably Freddie too, face every day. Freddie isn't here to speak for himself, RIP, so I thought I'd speak on his behalf in an effort to clarify, that's all.
One thing you and I can both agree on though: Freddie Mercury was an AMAZING singer. The only singer from that time era who could match him in vocal talent is Frankie Valli from the Four Seasons.
He died of AIDS
@@james_ford86 if it's gay it's gay. No hate intended.
"dude its Puff Daddy" is one of my favorite lines in the show
Honestly "Krazy kripples" might still be my absolute favorite Jimmy episode ever. Season 7 episode 2.
Agreed very much
Easily top 3
Timmy is great in that one too.
that one is without a doubt the best jimmy episode
Is that the Jimmy vs TIMMAY one?
there's a great documentary outlining how stressful and wild it is for them to make an entire episode in one week. a few clips of it were in the South Park voice acting video
I just don’t understand how they pull this off. It’s crazy to me. I’m gonna watch that documentary.
@@dash.reacts lsd. Lol. They went to the Oscars wearing dresses & took lsd.
@@dash.reacts also look for the Bill Hader video of him explaining the process of coming up with this joke and episode specifically.
@@dash.reacts would recommend! it's called "6 days to air"
@@dash.reacts if you could post the reaction to that it would be awesome. Most weeks they go a few days just figuring out the ideas, main plot and sub plot
I love how Cartman re-imagines the whole joke writing process! 😂😂😂
The Jew Robot Army was amazing!
A dragon
Aye
Of all things, he imagines himself as the Human Torch (who's also a bit of an egotistical hothead, coincidentally enough).
@@gabrielesolletico6542 unfortunately when the Real Kanye saw the Jew Robot scene, he didn't think it was a joke
Kayne just made Alex Jones look like the adult in the room
You should listen to the full version of the Gay Fish song, it's hilarious. Trey Parker had to deliberately sing off-key to get the auto-tune to work.
There is also a great orchestral cover for that song. They made a whole bunch of orchestral covers of South Park songs as promotional material for season 25.
Matt and Trey are amazing talents! Frankly, *they* are genius voices of a new generation, though they'd never be egotistical enough to claim that.
@@lightyagami1752 more like an old generation
@@manderbander2744 Haha I guess I am part of the older gen now. Gen X. Still, not quite a boomer.
But Matt and Stone totally speak to me. Even the references to things like Buck Rogers... TV shows I grew up with.
I was under the impression that Kanye seriously lost his mind/ego after his mother passed away. Whatever delicate balance she had on his psyche was just shattered after she was gone.
Kayne's Mom passed away and Kayne revealed his true self. Graduation was his last album that he was sane. After MBDTF, he became more controversial but released impactful music too
'Up the Down Steroid' and 'Krazzy Kripples' are two memorable Jimmy episodes for sure
The gay fish episode is super funny because the real life Kanye West STILL doesn’t understand the joke
They came up with the fish sticks joke while on a writer’s retreat. They we’re watching salmon jump upstream and someone said something like “Wouldn’t it be funny if one had a big fish dick flopping in the air?”
And Trey was like “Wait did you say fish stick or fish dick?”
And then it hit everyone immediately what a great joke that could be lol!
and what if trey did some mental gymnastic because of his ego ?
Wrong.
@@Research0digo he's right, the writers said that's how they came up with it in a podcast
@@chaoticroomba Any idea where to find the podcast?
The funny thing is Bill Hader being there and participating
In the contemporary English language, the noun Polack is a derogatory, mainly North American, reference to a person of Polish descent or from Poland. I'm glad the term has died off and a lot of people don't recognize it anymore.
I only know about it because of Gran Torino
That's just cuz Polacks aren't that funny, dude.
I only know it because that’s what my grandpa called me when I wore white socks with black shoes.
White americans are racist . Nothing anybody doesnt know.
Especially since the Polish have contributed to much to modern society, such as screen doors on submarines.
There is actually 2 more really good episodes focusing on Jimmy, Krazy Kripples and Funnybot. Both are worth checking out
Up the down steroid has a good amount of Jimmy as well
@@kageakuma3009 eh. Funnybot Is a big dip in quality for South Park
Personally
@@UnlicensedOkie think you meant for the original poster, it happens lol. I recommended Up the down steroid. I'm not a huge fan of Funnybot either, though the ending is decent.
Also crippled summer
@@DeShawnMcDonald Oh yeah, this gotta be the best Jimmy episode!
The fact they called kim a hobbit will never stop being hilarious
Hilariously enough, that was the title to the "sequel" episode to this one
Kanye did NOT SEE the punchline coming. When they insulted him, he was like "Aw Sieg Heil NO!"
Womp-womp
You should also react to Kanye not getting the joke 10 years later. Even the interview when asked about it “because I wear tight pants? People were wearing tight pants before me!”
I heard that after this episode aired Kanye West went to Cheesecake Factory where he was given free fish sticks as “compliments from the chef”
Look for the video of Bill Hader talking about this episode, he tells the story of how they came up with the joke, etc and answers what you were wondering about the creative process.
This is one of the most out-of-nowhere, unpredictable, crazy plots in media ever. Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift probably inspired it, but the direction the episode goes is bonkers, yet makes sense.
Great reaction once again 🙏 this episode has a direct sequel called 'The Hobbit'. Other episodes that feature Jimmy are 'Crippled Fight', 'Krazy Kripples', 'Funnybot', 'The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers', 'Up the Down Steroids', 'Erection Day', and the second half of season 19
Yep the Kanye West episode. Glad to see you post a SP reaction episode!
🙏
They thought of this joke with Bill Hader while watching salmon swimming up a water ladder and spit balling joke ideas...
That’s the point of Carlos memcia’s appearance. He “stole” the fish sticks joke
Kanye is a genius at his craft, and nothing else.
"it's puff daddy!!!" Aged like fine wine 😂
Krazy Kripples is my favorite Jimmy South Park episode. I recommend that one.
Dash your reactions make me stupidly happy- thank you for doing them ❤
And this comment makes me stupidly happy 😊 ❤️ thanks for watching!!!
SAME HERE, honestly!
Their creative process is astonishing. They usually go from brainstorming ideas to post production , a finished animated and voiced episode, in one week,. This is during season and they air the episode just a few hours after they are finished with it.
There is a full length documentary called “Six Days to Air” that came with a season box set. Another fan can tell you the exact one. It was 10-12 years ago.
Hey Dash, love the reactions. I’d definitely recommend Medicinal Fried Chicken it’s one of my favorite episodes, anyways keep up the great work man
Seconded. Great episode.
yes
Youve got to check out the southpark concert, its cool watching them preform all their songs live. Not to mention Rush and Primus.
I suggest you do "Hell on Earth 2006" (Season 10, Episode 11). It's a hilarious parody of the MTV show "My Super Sweet 16" with like three separate great subplots in addition to the main story.
YES!!! Please do for Halloween!
Can't believe that episode was 16 years ago.
when you mentioned how it would be cool to see their creative process, you need to watch the mini documentary "6 days to air" its all about how they write their episodes on a super crunched time schedule. For most of the duration of the series, they would make their episodes one week at a time, that way they could have recent events in pop culture or the news in episodes a couple days after they happen. VERY interesting, and sheds some light on their creative process. I believe one of the episodes they reference and show part of the writing for was "human centipad"
The funny thing is when this show aired I didn’t actually catch the beginning where they come up with the joke so the whole time watching I was trying to figure out how it actually went down and if Cartman was actually telling the truth or not 💀
Gsy Fish Yo! That kills me everytime! 😂
Also before he jumps in the water. His crue says um man Kanye yous just stupid yo! That kills me!
This episode is hilarious. I recommend season 12 episode 9 "breast cancer show ever" it has arguably the best moment in all of south park, karma finally catches up with cartman in this episode
I agree this has the best moment in all of southpark
The puking his underwear, the look on his face..
One of the funniest south park moments!
The best part of this episode is when Principal Victoria convinces Wendy to fight. That's much more powerful than the actual fight itself. But it seems everyone has its own priorities.
I love how you love butters. Fish sticks was my handle in twitch for a long time
There is a documentary called "6 days to air" that explains the creative process behind the episodes, it is a controlled chaos that surprises you because they literally finish the chapters like 4 hours before the television premiere. You could react to that too.
I also recommend the chapter of "The Hobbit", it is a kind of "sequel" to this chapter
This episode is an absolute classic! XD
Also the song at the end "Gay fish" is utterly amazing
You shoud react to the episode “my future self and me” 😂 - Season 6 Episode 16
Thanks for the recommendation, Kayden!
Love your reactions man! You should set up a Patreon and let the subs see the full unedited reactions since some stuff you cant show on youtube id support you!
DJ…thank you!!! I’ve been debating. I have the original episodes and have been thinking of starting a Patreon when we hit 10k. I was just worried whether or not people would be interested. This gives me hope. Thank you 🙏
@@dash.reacts Hell ya man looking forward to it! 👍
I remember reading a small article from the point of view of behavioral doctors on cartoon characters and other tv characters, giving like a breakdown on how they would diagnose patients. They labeled Cartman as the quintessential poster child of both psychopathy/sociopathic. They claimed he was worse than the Joker, lex luthor, Geoffrey baratheon, etc. Hahaha
More accurately, Cartman is a classic narcissist.
One of my many favourite episodes the first time when I was watching it when Kanye snaped at 7:32 I lost it
If you want to know how they come up with ideas you need to watch 6 days to air. They document having to come up with an idea, writting and animate it, and get it to air in under a week. It's amazing
Another thing I love about South Park is when the characters get angry, their eyebrows go up
jimmy is the best character his stuttering always gets me 🤣
Gayfish is by far my favorite Ye song!!!😄
Has anyone recommended the episode "Marjorine"? Has to be one of the best, funniest SP episodes ever. I know you're a huge Butters fan, so this episode is definitely one you'd like.
This episode directly describes how simply telling biased people that biases or mental gymnastics exist doesn't save the situation. South Park simply took it to extremes with Cartman, but similar things happen to biased people all the time :)
ive been binge watching your reactions and i really appreciate the amount of editing you do in each of your videos
I think Kanye a genius, the guy is billionaire. He made smart investments. Its not just that after listening to his Tucker Carlson interview, his answers were definitely out there but he was right
Thanks for sharing this Mark. I’m always to hear people’s take on this
A good Jimmy (as well as Cartman) focused episode is Up the Down Steroid (Season 8, Episode 2). However, some other South Park episodes I highly recommend are The Death Camp of Tolerance (Season 6, Episode 14), The Passion of the Jew (Season 8, Episode 3), and Breast Cancer Show Ever (Season 12, Episode 9).
Those are all Great Episodes! I highly recommend all 4 of them as well.
Keep em coming my man. Love it. Thank you.
This was my favorite eps and the fish stick joke is so hilarious
09:26 Carlitos Way reference
I'd recommend the very first Jimmy episode - "Cripple Fight". It introduces his character so brilliantly, and has one of the iconic SP scenes in my opinion.
Krazy Kriples (Season 7 Ep. 2) is another great, hilarious Jimmy AND Timmy episode. You should definitely check it out! Love the reactions, keep up the great work 😎
Lemme tell you 'bout my lil Gs Roller and Four Legs here.
@@darthkronical3390 😂
My favourite Jimmy and Timmy episodes are Nathans episodes
@@manderbander2744 Shut up, Mimsy!!!
"Polack" (Polish, offensive) jokes were common from the 1940's onward. Typical one would go something like; "How many Polacks does it take to change a light bulb? Three. One to hold the bulb and two to turn the ladder." Or; "Polish Airlines pilot makes an emergency landing and says, 'Wow, that was the shortest runway I've ever landed on!' Copilot looks left and right and says, 'Yeah, but it sure is wide!'" I grew up in Northern Wisconsin, and I heard more "Sven and Ole" (Swedes) jokes than "Polack" jokes.
There is a difference between genius and musical genius.
Might as well write my obituary because i am going to die from laugthing...
If you want a good Jimmy episode, I would recommend either Cripple Fight (Season 5 Episode 2) or Krazy Kripples (Season 7 Episode 2). Both are great and lots of fun with Jimmy & Timmy. A great follow up to this one with Kanye is The Hobbit from Season 17, Episode 10 (that one is Wendy-Centric). Keep it up! Always enjoy the watch alongs!
Gotta love that nod to Carlito's Way with the "I gotta piss in a plastic bag, maaaan!" rant. Still weird to hear Vigo Mortensen say those lines.
Most of the comments mentioned it, but the most notable Jimmy episodes are:
Season 7 Episode 2 - Krazy Kripples
Season 8 Episode 2 - Up the Down Steroid
Season 9 Episode 7 - Erection Day
Also if you want a follow up Kanye episde: Season 17 Episode 10 - The Hobbit. It's a Wendy centric episode
"you know it, just give him the half" 😂😂😂. The most accurate line ever in south park
Long time watcher, first time commenting. Love the videos, but serious question: where did you get that shirt!!!!! It would be a perfect birthday present for my brother!
Kanye needed this roast as a humble check.
Krazy Kripples is another great Jimmy episode you should check out!
What's really funny is Kanye in real life literally doesn't get the joke. He even put a line about it into one of his songs.
So Bill Hader was the actual person that came up with this during a writing session when he was staff at South Park. Apparently everyone else thought it was a great enough joke to run with.
I discovered your channel a few days ago and love your commentary about South Park! Keep it up! Thanks!
That Tshirt is fucking rad. Is that mega man 3? Dude.
With everything going on at the moment, this is perfect timing to react to this episode 🤣
"I'm a MFin' lyrical WORDSMITH!"
Kanye is a genius…in music not so much everything else. A lot of artistic geniuses are insane or flawed in some way as we’ve seen repeatedly in history.
Reasons why Cartman is my favorite character in the series. I just need him to get more wins in the series he has me rolling all the time. 😂😂😂
Conan's the best!! His remotes were hilarious especially the ones with Jordan Schlansky 🤣
I'm only disappointed dash didn't show Kanye's posse real picture the way he shows the references. The accuracy south park depicted is just perfect
That whole Pearl Harbor thing WAS a little sneaky.
Give "Up the Down Steroid" a watch for a good Jimmy episode. It's season 8, episode 2.
There have been many musicians in history who's undeniable talent has elevated them to level of genius. I am glad Kanye had the genius mind to be the first one to publicly acknowledge his status above all of the Doctors, Artists, and Philanthropists who are not intelligent enough to reach his level in their own field of work. Genius? Now we can add Courageous to that moniker.
Glad you finally got to this one! Something so simple turns into an outrageous ordeal.
Season 8 episode 2 "Up the down steroid" is a great Jimmy episode
Crazy how basically everyone in this episode has been cancelled.. Kanye, Carlos mencia, Ellen
This is still the episode that makes me laugh the most, love the ending song
On his song 'Gorgeous' Kanye says something like "choke a South Park writer with a fish stick"
Best jimmy episode is probably crippled summer. Absolutely solid

The South Park guys did an absolute BANGING rendition of Gay Fish for the South Park 25 Show.
Ye references this episode in his song “gorgeous” when he says “choke a South Park writer with a fish stick”
“Erection Day” is arguably the best Jimmy episode! It’s really good!
