@@wadesickler7121 I completely agree! I didn't mention the ending in the video but omg??? That was wild! I loved how humanized Nicolas Cage's character was.
Fun project! I haven't seen nearly all of them, so I'll just rank the ones I've seen. 1. Bladerunner - one of my favorite movies, awesome aesthetic that was unreasonably influential and basically inspired the whole cyberpunk genre (which I love). 2. The Martian - only saw this film the one time in theaters, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I like hopeful sci-fi and "yeah! humanity!" stories, and this one was really fun to me. 3. Kingdom of Heaven - first time I saw the director's cut, I thought it was an amazing film. Returning to it after Game of Thrones had been out for a while aged it badly, since the novelty of doing the grime of the middle-ages rightly kind of wore off, and the fact that the villain motivations are so poor became more obvious. That said, it looks amazing and it's exciting compared to that (even more) overlong and boring show, so I might be underrating it now. 4. American Gangster - I know I saw this in theater with my parents around when it came out and thought it was fine, didn't leave a tremendous impression on me. 5. Prometheus - I LOVE the self-C-section scene and some of the visual ideas, but I really hated so many of the purely dumb decisions made by all but the main character. I'm surprised to realize I've seen so few of his films, tho I'm not a movie buff by any means. At one point I did consider him one of my faves on the strength of just those top 3 choices of mine, altho my impression of Kingdom of Heaven fell off some. Also, I would love if you added the film names to the timecodes! I understand wanting to keep them secret, but the reasoning is the interesting part and it's hard to keep track what movie you're talking about since I haven't seen most of them. 🌈
The C-section scene was so crazy! I've also been thinking about watching Game of Thrones actually I've never seen it. I fear I may have missed that cultural moment haha
@@cozylouise It's a very lopsided show, and very dark, grimy and depressing, so it's hard for me to really recommend, but it's also hard not to suggest watching once for all of its strong character archetypes and very strong production design. My parents are in the middle of their like 80th rewatch and I keep being reminded both what's lovable and hatable about it when I pass by the living room haha
Hahaha fair! I honestly know very little about it other than people LOVED it when it was first coming out and that the last season was pretty terrible hahaha
I think Matchstick Men is an underrated gem. It's a very different kind of movie than Ridley Scott's usual "big production" movie.

If you haven’t seen the ultimate cut of Legend, I would HIGHLY recommend it, story is a bit better and even more scenes of crazy visuals
I had no idea there was another cut! Omg. Damn Ridley Scott really likes his alternate cuts. I would love to see that!
