Thanks very much Bev! It was a really good test / experiment for sure. I learned a lot from it. Need to adjust my pacing for the 100 for sure. Good thing is most of the elevation is packed into the first half of the 100 so that's probably the worst bit but there are still a few tough climbs later on but they aren't as frequent. @@BenNotley I was booked in for that but cancelled a few months ago for the partial refund as we were invited to a wedding. Ironically that was then postponed which was a shame as I am in pretty good form at the minute and it would have been as good a time as any to try that event. Are you looking forwards to the 100 ? Those events amaze me as I know I would never be able to run through the night like that and I have maximum respect for yourself and anyone else who is able to .
Cracking run and equally quality video! The race passed me by in a bit of a blur, and this brought it all back to me (good and bad bits!). Hope the rest of your training goes well and good luck for NDW100.

Congrats Ben, made that look pretty easy. :) Just a quick note about the below as people are either not aware, or are ignoring the rules and it would be a bummer to get time penalties for it (should they introduce them). CREW, PACERS & DROP BAGS Pacers and Crews are not permitted at this race. Spectators must absolutely under no circumstances attend any of the check points on foot, by bike or by vehicle. For clarity, this means you can have no one run with you on the route for any length of time (pacer) and you can not give or recieve anything from anyone outside of the race (crew). Spectators and vocal support is welcome anywhere along the route apart from around or anywhere near the check points. James Elson covers it in detail on the latest Centurion Running podcast from 35 minutes. Could you please forward on where possible as you have a lot of subscribers. Thanks

Loved the video Ben. Many many congrats on a great run. The filming and editing was just right, it didn't seem like 33 minutes long, I was so engrossed. I was a bit worried at first that you had started off so quickly and didn't look too comfortable, but it all came right in the end. Well done again mate, looking forward to you doing the NDW 100 now.

It was a good test of the legs for sure Francois. Good to see what's possible for the 100. Loads of lessons learned for sure. I was actually really pleased with all the hydration and fuelling and I actually tried a few things that I wouldn't usually have during a run and nothing gave me any issues which was promising going forward. Great job Ben. Looking really strong throughout. Dare I say goal pace on point. 29th overall I see is very impressive. Thankfully seemed reasonably dry for you. Good to see some bits like Puttenham I have done myself recently. What shoes did you go for in the end? Looking at your Strava do you have to up the A24 near Westhumble and back down again to use an underpass? On first glance, I thought you had got lost!
Cheers Tim! I think all those "goal pace" sessions have really been paying off! 🤣👌 I opted for the extra comfort of the speedgoats. I probably could have gotten away with the Tectons but I decided to go with what I was most confident in wearing. Yeah annoyingly you have to run along to the underpass at West Humble. Have to stick to the official NDW route plus it's certainly the safest way to get across that busy road 🤣 cheers for all the support mate! 😎🤘

Just a quick note about the below as people are either not aware, or are ignoring the rules and it would be a bummer to get time penalties for it (should they introduce them).
CREW, PACERS & DROP BAGS
Pacers and Crews are not permitted at this race. Spectators must absolutely under no circumstances attend any of the check points on foot, by bike or by vehicle.
For clarity, this means you can have no one run with you on the route for any length of time (pacer) and you can not give or recieve anything from anyone outside of the race (crew). Spectators and vocal support is welcome anywhere along the route apart from around or anywhere near the check points.
James Elson covers it in detail on the latest Centurion Running podcast from 35 minutes. Could you please forward on where possible as you have a lot of subscribers.

Loved the video Ben. Many many congrats on a great run. The filming and editing was just right, it didn't seem like 33 minutes long, I was so engrossed. I was a bit worried at first that you had started off so quickly and didn't look too comfortable, but it all came right in the end. Well done again mate, looking forward to you doing the NDW 100 now.

Congratulations Ben! You had what looked like a perfect race. No sign whatsoever of the difficult couple of weeks leading up to the race at all. You really looked like you were having the best time, running each section and then it being broken up with lots of support out there on the course. You were motoring along on this one Ben! Amazing. How did you find the hydration and fuelling? Did you go off any of it? The heat plays tricks on me and I need to be careful but you seemed comfortable throughout. Well done. Onto the next!
It was a good test of the legs for sure Francois. Good to see what's possible for the 100. Loads of lessons learned for sure. I was actually really pleased with all the hydration and fuelling and I actually tried a few things that I wouldn't usually have during a run and nothing gave me any issues which was promising going forward. Great job Ben. Looking really strong throughout. Dare I say goal pace on point. 29th overall I see is very impressive. Thankfully seemed reasonably dry for you. Good to see some bits like Puttenham I have done myself recently. What shoes did you go for in the end? Looking at your Strava do you have to up the A24 near Westhumble and back down again to use an underpass? On first glance, I thought you had got lost!
Cheers Tim! I think all those "goal pace" sessions have really been paying off! 🤣👌 I opted for the extra comfort of the speedgoats. I probably could have gotten away with the Tectons but I decided to go with what I was most confident in wearing. Yeah annoyingly you have to run along to the underpass at West Humble. Have to stick to the official NDW route plus it's certainly the safest way to get across that busy road 🤣 cheers for all the support mate! 😎🤘
