Such a superb analysis Tom. Great to hear the tricks of the trade. Sounds like you had a great pre race plan and you absolutely nailed it. Thanks for sharing this with us mate. Once again huge kudos and congratulations on the win and CR mate. Really well deserved! Thanks for the shout out dude! 👏👏👏🏅😎🤘
Great rundown Tom. Was a good listen. Always good when you can learn. So many people were going on wrong turns so it wasn't just you....I think the gpx file was just slightly off. Massive congratulations. It was a tough race but you smashed it out the park 🎉🎉🎉
That is some very impressive running!!! Congratulations 👏🏻 I got those adidas shoes as well but my god that rocker really does ache my feet 😖 Think I'm gonna have to sell my pair as my feet feel awful after running in them 😕
Congratulations and thank you for all the insights, super helpful! How were the Adidas on the steeper climbs, did you feel like they give a boost there too? Any calf soreness with that rocker? Thanks again and congrats!
The shoes were good on the steeper climbs too, I don’t think they gave as much of a boost. If it had got much muddier then I would have needed deeper lugs. I wouldn’t say they the best shoes for hiking as not designed for heel striking, the Mafate Sp4 better for hiking but heavier and less of a super shoe. My calf’s were fine, but I have done a lot of strength and conditioning and elevation in training so they are strong. Did feel the arch pushing in onto the rocker but never became a problem over the 18+ hours.
I have autism I done 100 km at 7hours and 54 minutes my friend said that was slow he never ran 100 km in he's life so he shouldn't judge your expert at utra running so is my time slow be honest with me
@@tomrunner3908 That is a great time and congratulations for competing the distance. Ultra running paces are so different to road marathons due to elevation, terrain and just being such a long distance. Kudos

Thanks, appreciated. Lots of small details to run through. So much of these races is a reflection of the training success. Congrats on your race.
