After 20+ years of watching Sentai and Kamen Rider, I started this week watching Ultraman Gaia. I was afraid I wasn't gonna like this franchise. Wow, I'm in episode 29 of Gaia and I love it! Just stumbled on your UA-cam channel and this is the video I needed. Definitely gonna follow your recommendations. You gained a subscriber 👍🏻
Looking forward to Blazar coming out, it looks fresh which is something I feel Ultraman's needed for a while now, I don't hate any of the current seasons, but they do start to hit the same points, Trigger and Decker had a crossover with their predecessor in episode 7 and 8 of their seasons and the ultimate form usually appears around 15
I'm definitely happy to see Blazar breaking the formula. I enjoy pretty much all the shows, but the formula was definitely starting to show its frayed edges

The introduction of Imperializer is one of my favourite episodes, partly because of the fact that it was the first time I had ever seen Taro outside of his own series. Did you perhaps mean Kotaro? Whether it's due to his own apprehension, or just incredible bad luck, Saburo Shinoda never seems to be able to reprise his role as Kotaro... 😆

I recommend starting with Tiga since it's the beginning of a new era even though I started with Orb since I pretty much got the Mill Creek releases in order from Amazon when they released or if I was behind on releases around the holidays, I'd play catch up, at the current time I have every release from Tiga to R/B and am looking to get my hands on Joneus as I call it because The Ultraman just sounds wrong to me since you said it's a co production between Tsuburaya and Sunrise and you actually got me into Gundam some what, when it comes to the original to Reconguista in G, due to the way I am I just can't get into Iron Blooded Orphans due to being more mature with a TV-MA mark on the blu-rays, and when I see that rating, I'm like it's much too violent, you got me to check it out, Build era was other influences but it does help when you talk about the Build era
One little tidbit about the Cosmos vs Justice movie is that it was the introduction of the fusion of Cosmos and Justice known as Ultraman Legend who was designated as one of the Legendary Ultras along with King, Noa, and Saga

Ever since Ultraman Z from the good old Covid year of 2020, i’ve actually went with the method of watching Ultraman on Tsubaraya’s UA-cam channel as they were uploaded when the current series was simulcast with English subs, or in Ultraman Blazar’s case, English dubs. Z did actually get an English dub uploaded to their channel, by the way. I have watched it, and I love it as much as the original.
@@Soundout12 I kind of hope that another live action Ultraman series gets dubbed with the same voice actors as the Ultraman anime. I’ve seen a few transformers anime dubs, specifically the Unicron Trilogy, and this is way better than those three seasons combined. I started with transformer Cybertron and then, went back to watch armada and Energon.
Got into Ultra during Z but it kinda lost me midway Trigger. Blazar got me back in and this video was definitely helpful watched Tiga, Dyna, and Nexus all this month lol. Currently on Gaia
I would say that the ultra Galaxy fight stuff is a great start for people who want to see a modern Ultraman season with an English dub, and the absolute conspiracy was actually my introduction to the franchise along with Ultraman Z.

I did watched till the video end, and there is one thing I want to know. Back in my childhood, there was a time my country (India) had been introducing Japanese media (Anime mostly), so kids channel often showcased stuff like Pokemon, Doraemon, and other kids anime. But there was one time, only one time, where I did watched a film named 'Ultraman'. Yup, just plain ultraman. Nothing fancy. And that was a film, not a series, which was the first ever time I was introduced to Ultraman. And although I watched it as a kid, all I could remember is that the main character gets some green stone from somewhere, got affected by it. He starts discovering his powers, just like spider man 1, and when trouble comes across him, he somehow turns into Ultraman and starts using the powers to fight one main monster. Since this is just a vague memory I have till now, whenever I hear a term 'Ultraman' this is what I could remember. Now here comes the question. Which film title is this? Because as far as I know, there were no 'Ultra brothers' involved. Just imagine if there was movie of ultraman and its made just like spider man 1. I just need to know if there was such movie exists, because throughout your video , I couldn't recognize the Ultraman which I saw back then. So just help me out here for putting the pieces of my memory again.

With 30+ Bluray/DVD box set releases, other merch, Netflix shows a new movie coming, Shin Ultraman hitting Bluray, new era series streaming on Tsuburaya's youtube channel, Marvel comics, more and more marketing and stuff coming. It's already a hit in the US.

I’ve always seen it like this. The land of light a.k.a. planet nebula M78, is a planet in a pocket dimension of sorts that is connected to every single earth that an Ultraman has appeared in.
Technically, Ultraman Kids started with a theatrical featurette, not a TV special, and there was an earlier TV anime series in 1986 that has not been released stateside.
I only found out after doing this video that there was that earlier TV anime. It doesn't even have an Ultra Wiki page but just a footnote on the page for the special.
The Ultraman Ginga theater special is I think still episode six on the Tubi TV release. I specifically remember that version having 12 episodes instead of 11. That’s probably why.
I didn’t know until this video that the Ultraman anime was getting an English dub. I guess that’s just what happens when you get international releases of TV shows nowadays. it’s taking me until now to actually watch the series.

It’s kind of interesting that the live action and animated versions of Dan Moroboshi both become ultra seven. It kind of stinks that besides the main two ultras Ultraman and ultra seven, and also there’s one random dude named Jack, I don’t think any of the other characters in that alternate story share the names of the human characters, or are related to versions of those human characters in that series. i’ll give you an example. Is Seigi related to the human host of Ultraman Ace in any way? I was so confused when he showed up. I was thinking that he was somehow related to Ultraman aces human host. Like how the first two are the son of the original, and somewhat of a homage to ultra seven, respectively. Also, is Jack that version of Ultraman jack taking on a human form?
@@Soundout12 The only thing I know about the relationships between human and ultra in the anime is that Shinjiro is the son of that version of Hayata, and Dan Moroboshi is possibly a straight up reference to the original.
In my 2024 experience Ultraman Z is a bit of a bad starting point, as there are several things about old shows just…won’t explain. While Blazar is AMAZING and incredibly accessible to new fans. The sub and dub still on UA-cam, though Ultraman Blazar The Movie: Tokyo Kaiju Showdown is still Unkown in distribution as it hasn’t released

Well each show's episodes are in order on Tubi/Tokushoutsu, and they aren't in any set order when you search up the shows on there. This guide video puts the shows in Chronological order so this should allow you to watch them in order

I can’t say for certain but it’s possible that film is a compilation of the first episodes from “The Ultraman” (1979) anime series.

Well each show's episodes are in order on Tubi/Tokushoutsu, and they aren't in any set order when you search up the shows on there. This guide video puts the shows in Chronological order so this should allow you to watch them in order

Review copies are out and that's where the issues were highlighted. The release officially comes out July 11th. I'll be doing a full review and if for some reason the subtitles are better on the final retail release, I will highlight that
