The "7 Words You Can Never Say..." is possibly Carlin's well-known joke and one of his best. RIP George Carlin. You are still one of the most influential talents in comedy.
I loved the "7 words" bit... I also loved when he broke down the 10 commandments. (Heck when you get down to is any of his "Soft Language" bits as well.)
😂I DIED LAUGHING THE FIRST TIME I HEARD CARLIN 😂🎉❤ GOD HOW GEORGE IS MISSED AND NEEDED MORE TODAY THAN ANY OTHER TIME IN HISTORY I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE HOW GEORGE WOULD HANDLE THINGS TODAY
One of my all-time favorites is still, “You can prick your finger ... Just don't finger your prick.” Carlin was arrested in 1972 for performing his routine "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television". He was charged with violating obscenity laws. The case was dismissed in December 1972. The ruling stated that Carlin's language was indecent, but not obscene. Over his career, Carlin was arrested seven times for reciting the "Seven Dirty Words" routine. His "seven dirty words" routine was central to the 1978 United States Supreme Court case F.C.C. v. Pacifica Foundation, in which a 5-4 decision affirmed the government's power to censor indecent material on public airwaves. (Also affirming how fcukin' stupid we are. *_[It's still in effect...]_* )
I've looked for the skits that contain: Jumbo Shrimp. Iced Tea. Snack Tits. I remember laughing so hard when I originally heard them. Any chance of finding them for future laughs? AND thank you!
Just his list of words to describe dirty words shows he had a better mastery of the English language than any puritans who are offended by words 😂 btw, cornhole has become a fun game you can play at bars and barbecues, so it's partially acceptable now!
I've always loved George Carlin, words its seems are still not allowed on television. Funny how they'll show the most violent blood soaked scenes from modern films on television but edit out the words because they might offend someone's sensibility. Jeezes as a society we are just plain fu#%k- up....
The 7 Words had the most social impact, tis true... but my favourite will always be his take on the Ten Commandments. Every time a new religion is organised - typically once the prophet isn't around to contradict you anymore - centuries of suffering and death usually follow. Faith has inspired some incredible art and architecture, but it doesn't make up for all the bad stuff, especially when some of it is still ongoing in this supposedly enlightened age. My mother was a roman catholic convent-educated orphan. I suspect the nuns taught her how they thought the world *should* be, leaving her totally unprepared for how it *is;* or how to recognise the assholes in it, such as my father. It's a given that they wouldn't teach her anything about sex, but she didn't even know her legal rights until she finally contacted a divorce lawyer. I've said it before, but when I heard whichever state was going to put the commandments on display in schools, I wanted to see kids paint them over with Carlin's three: thou shalt always be honest and faithful to the provider of thy nookie; thou shalt try *real hard* not to kill anybody (unless they pray to a different invisible man than you do); and thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself.
I here puritanical Americans saying 'no need for cuss words', how rude/crass etc etc he is ... but I can tell you Carlin had a vocabulary and intelligence that'd blow most puritans out the water ... and sad to say that these days education is the issue, it takes smarts to be as clever as Carlin and as the USA dive bombs into a state of Idiocracy, the USA is becoming it's own parody, there is less and less chance of a Carlin remerging ... where's the room for intelligent satire any more ? Does anyone know of anyone like Carlin or Hicks ?
@@joannaedwards6325How so? Comedy is still here. It hasn't gone anywhere. If anything, the OP is talking about the overly hypocritical "Christians" deem anything they dislike as crass or immortal.
First time i heard George was Bill and Ted so he's been a staple in my life a while now 😊 one word he missed that we British say is 'wanker' and it has an action to, double the offense 😉 😅 RIP dude, we'll keep your words alive 😁
I would hand over all my possessions just to hear this guy riff on current events. This guy would eviscerate the 🍊🤡and would be #1 on his naughty list.. Kimmel would be his cell mate
Ain't that funny... all of the time u US Americans talk about "free speech", but u didn't even practice it... that is a mind blowing vortex. George taught me something: Mindgames. People don't like that... always wondering what someone says, that they they don't understand, or even think about. So, stay in ur bubble of meanigless. I prefer to let my mind run free, to hear, learn and search for "antother" George. No chance to find him. Thanks for uploading this piece! And have a nice christmas time... also as it means nothing to me.
GEORGE CARLIN IS ALIVE AND WELL IN MY HEAD, HE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE COMIDIAN OF ALL TIME.
It is such a shame he is not with us anymore, we need people like him more then ever
People like George Carlin are as rare as corn that grows diamonds in place of kernels.
He would've hated you
@@пъдърдънпъдърдън That would have been ok lol.
George is quintessential truther to me. Love his keen insight on how society functions.
Many great comedians… But George excels them all 🇺🇸👌

Arguably, best bit of all time?
And if you actually type those words in a UA-cam comment, they will immediately remove it. Things are going backwards. I miss George

When people call you the goat you’re really good but when comedians call you the goat then you are !

He would have a field day with things today. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

It's hard to believe that the transcript of this video is censored 😮😮😮
Yeah, but not surprising.
I just said above, if you type out any of the words in a UA-cam comment, they will immediately remove it.
Classic GCarlin. 👍
We hope you'll tune in!
the words that the subtitles decided to censor vs what they allowed was so random
😂
If there are humans in 100 years they'll be watching Mr. Carlin ❤
There won't be.
If they're lucky!
Coast-to-Coast Disaster takes the cake for me. Or maybe takes the pie

Thanks for sharing your story. It's interesting to hear what pieces people take to and why ✌️
When the world needs Carlin more than ever, he's gone. Life is unfair.
what an amazing mind he had
