Fun fact. I was actually in this scene. My sister, my mom and I were a family right behind the vehicles, the first house that came up when they drove past. (We were just cut off by the guy's head at 0:06 and the scene cuts away before the truck fully passes). It was shot outside of Yuma, Arizona and it took from noon to like 6 or 7 for the scene of them just driving behind the neighborhood.
Why did they cut such amazing material. It’s like all is devils wanted more of this and there was, they just hid it from us, typical green weenie bullshit. Semper Fucked
In a war zone or even the field most of that bs should go out the window. It usually does unless a higher up decided to snoop around on his way back to his tent
These soilders are tough but had it made in some ways Vietnam was hell i was in the bush one day and started digging a foxhole i felt something wet hit my arm i looked over seen nothing i kep digging and i felt it again i looked and there was this huge black spitting cobra about 3 feet away shooting venom everywhere scary day!!
I know that feeling. For all of guys, it's great to have some kind of normalcy like that. For some guys it's great for a few days then it's fuck this shit. I'm one of those this is great then fuck this guys. Spend a week or two out to sea then get to be on land for a bit then unbothered about being back out. There was one time when we went back out, I went to supply for something. Chit chat. How's it going? Its going good. You? I feel sad. I don't know why. Me too. Weird.
I lived on that first street at the beginning of the scene. My school bus stop was at the 0:13 mark. I remember them constructing all this, our bus stop being changed for the making of this scene, tents being set up 200 yards away with a bunch of actors in military uniform and after all was wrapped up, the fresh asphalt that filled the holes they made to put up the fence
at 0:28 ? they might of built a living area for family near the base if it was safe enough im guessing. not sure if they actually did that in desert storm anywhere. one of my friends she lives on base and her husband is in the navy but the base she lives at is in america so i dunno.
@@MrChickennugget360 you could be right. its prob filmed in a studio warehouse that they built all this stuff in would be my guess possibly for this scene. im not sure why they added that in the background. alot of soldiers browse the comments im sure one will eventually chime in and answer. i could look at the filming locations in the credits but all my stuff is boxed to move atm
Stupid directors! I've seen so many deleted scenes on UA-cam already, and they all are so good and fill the movie with more deep senses... Why did they cut them off?

How on earth did the US military ever think anyone would find soldiers like this sympathetic? A bunch of screaming teenage skin-heads from another country... No wonder people resisted them.
young adults dont have fully developed brains and life experience to over think about sympathy. all that comes later when they come home and it sinks in. as far as "Screaming skinheads" the haircut is mandatory. has nothing to do with skinheads. the "screaming" is well they are basically kids still. young adults. with a lot of downtime doing nothing trying to kill time with horse play. that has nothing to do why they get resisted. its usually religion in most regions. people are fighting other people over religion and opposing people who arent their religion. even if you try to help them they dont accept it or care they just see it as they shouldnt be there.
@@MelodicsRareMusicVid I know the haircut is mandatory, but picture yourself walking alone in a new york alley and running in to a gang looking like this, you won't feel safe or trust them. And yes it's just a haircut but it instils a feeling of fear and distrust. Of course there are other aspects of why people resisted them, but this won't make it easier to win hearts and minds.

This and the Buildup to War scene both should have been in the movie as well as the Chow hall scene.
cheddar bob is annoying in every movie
I just noticed its him LOL
Lmfao
He was level headed in Shot Caller. Great film btw. Highly recommend it.
Yup that's why he's part of the cast, a dumb beyond all bearing
Everyone says that about every deleted scene though.. that it should've been in the movie. It's just the way it is... scenes get cut.
ok
the soundtrack for this scene is so fitting
i think thomas newman did most of the music in the movie
i'm not really familiar with him, but he did a fantastic job, shame alot of it doesn't end up in the final cut.
Hehe rear hehe
Should those Marines have had their covers on?
No one should have to man or woman.
Technically yeah I think so
I don’t think in a combat zone nobody cares

They're not in garrison, so sometimes depending on your unit that bullshit goes out the window.

Yes it’s one of the living areas built by the military during the war I can only assume, they were built to house around 300
