    Have you been drinking? How can the inside diameter be larger than the outside diameter?. You need to see a therapist or join AA!

      Hi , well I wasn’t drinking just made a mistake thanks for pointing it out I meant to say 29 mm. Not 19 I’ll see if i can add an on screen text to rectify the problem thanks for your feedback best wishes David

    Thanks David. I continue to get quite a kick out of your lessons for a bloke like me. Btw, I just got my hole saws delivered. Of course I had a set already, but we can't travel. So helping some random Cinese factory I guess.

    Glad I found you! Thank you for your nice videos. I have a question. Is it possible to use green wood for tenons? Greetings from Denmark

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi if you use green wood for tenons they will shrink as they dry and become loose in their mortise. The solution is to cut your tenons over size and then dry them,you can do this by heating a bucket of sand on a fire then place the tenons in the sand until dry, if the mortise is green the dry tenons will absorb water from it and expand and the mortise will shrink as it dries creating a tight joint. Thanks for your feedback good luck with your project David

    Hello David, could I have your mail ID please? I have some wood pieces at home and need some ideas as to what I can do with them. I can send you some pictures of them so that you have a clear picture!
    PS: I don't have any carpentry background.
    Cheers

    Now I can at least start out with small but still usefully dimensioned branches and limbs with the miscellany of tools I have without buying those expensive specialty timber mortise and tenon sets or cutting everything manually.

    Did you ever do a video on your giant pencil sharpener tenon maker ?
    6 years ago you mentioned showing us how to make it but I haven't been able to find the instructions.
    I like it makes an infinite tenon. Not a short little blind tenon like the commercial made ones.

    Welcome back my friend David. The video is doubled, IE at 9:09 it starts all over again making an 18 minute video. 🙄I was thinking of making a reamer, but do not do much stools or chairs.

      Everything is good David. School is doing fine. They have all completed a mortise and tenon. Done some coping saw work last week, and introduced them to safety with power tools and machinery. I got a cool chainsaw. Did you see it?

    I am thinking about to make a log furniture from eucalyptus wood, Can I use mortise and tenon joint on Green wood? Seasoned wood is very hard especially eucalyptus...!

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  3 роки тому

      Hi Amit to make mortise and tenon joinery with green wood you must ensure that the tenons are bane dry and the mortises are in the green wood,this way the mortise will contract as it dries and make a tight strong joint,Shabbat shalom David

    If the outside diameter is 19 mm, the inside diameter can not be 25mm. I’m guessing it’s 25mm or 1” outside.
