I was in the middle of learning how to play the original on guitar when I found out my father had died so it will always be a very emotional song for me. It felt so appropriate for the moment that I just kept playing, didn't skip a beat. Probably the best I've ever played it. This version almost brings me to tears.

Fast forward 20 years and my 9 year old is learning the cello. I was setting it up and tuning the strings and struck a note that took me all the way back to that time. I had to hear it again and played it for her. She had never seen daddy cry before and didn't know what to do.

I saw Apocalyptica at Bloodstock festival in 2009, they were on just as the sun was setting opposite the main stage, the most incredible shadows were cast just as darkness slowly descended on the stage. I'll never forget it.
