You know whats funny? Our orchestra teacher showed us this video so we could get more "into the music" that we were playing, but all I could think about is how both of these guys have half the energy of my orchestra teacher when she plays her cello, so both of them together in this video is basically how she plays or acts on a daily basis... Edit: I have started to get to know my orchestra teacher personally, she is not mentally ill, or does any type of substance abuse, she has a very energetic personality and makes orchestra really fun for all of us, we have gotten to do tons of stuff with her and have gotten a ton of opportunities as well and this comment is not a way of being rude to her or telling anyone that she is not a good teacher, every time we have orchestra we all race to the orchestra room just so we can start early!! -Feel free to ask any non-personal questions!

Seven years ago I heard this for the first time. It made me want to start the cello. Now I've been playing for six years and am about to graduate. Thank you both for inspiring me to start the cello, if this song had never existed my life would be so much different. Thank you both so much for making my life a musical one.
My 60+ year old mom has taken up Cello too. I think sending her here helped remind her of how much she wanted to learn this in her youth. So proud of my mom!

After her amazing performance the host asked her to show the audience what she had done to a bow in warm up and she pulled out a broken bow. She said it had cost 5k. And this was years ago. The bow string might be cheaper to replace 🤷♀️
As someone who used to play cello, and my teacher put the ever loving fear of GOD into my soul that if I played too passionately I’d break something... I’m mad now! I could’ve been doing this shit instead!? So much more bad ass!!
Well now, bow strings are expensive. And you're expected 4 hours of playing. I saw these guys (I think) in real life in Vienna before fame. They had many more bows at the ready. That wasn't really much an option until the 90s.

Man just randomly stumbled upon this video again. I remember I used to watch this a lot as a kid, especially when I was in orchestra. Unfortunately I stopped playing violin or music in general because one of the music teachers said “If you’re not going to be playing it right, then don’t play at all” that really threw away my enjoyment of playing the violin or the piano. Guys don’t let anyone tell you what to do, you can achieve anything you want if you put your mind into it!👍👏
Music is an inalienable human right .... Just sing or play music today .... Even if it's just by yourself. Give yourself the opportunity to just be at whatever music level you are and just be with your musical self

some limits are meant to be broken :) quite a few classic composers were a bit rebels themselves. just listen to some pieces from mozart some say Bach was metal before there was metal :D and don't forget - it goes the other way too. there are rock bands who play classic :)

I pulled this at my talent show last year in middle school me and my homie showed wearing classical clothing and started busting our cellos up with this song then I said thoust grandchildren’s grandchild’s shall love this refering to the comment
