@Lolo Boom Periods are a sign that you are healthy, and having a normal cycle and getting them regularly is something to be thankful for, even despite how awful they can be. Unless you are under the care of a doctor and on a type of birth control that purposefully stops your period, not getting your period for a significant amount of time is NOT something to be thankful for, and can be a sign that something is wrong, such as endometriosis, PCOS, or a multitude of other health problems. It doesn’t always mean that something is wrong, but it should always be taken seriously and should always be checked out by a gynecologist.
Also, would love to see article he wrote in this topic but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know if it's like a free access thing or if it's only available with paid subscription to the webinar/course thingy?
Don’t be nervous! I had one done when I was 12 due to the same thing. (I’m 18 now) I’ve had one done yearly bc of my personal preference along with my mom’s especially since I was sexually active at 15. My doctor was very helpful and always has walked me through what she’s doing before she does it. It may be scary at first. If they do swab you, you may feel a little bit of a cramp but it’ll go away as soon as he or she is done! Wish you luck
Where are you located because I never have been more comfortable with watching this video. I'm 22 and have always been scared to get this done and never want to do it but I would like to see you.
It’s just a piece of plastic, but it hurts like hell. I almost broke one of my fingers and slammed my back on a big, metal heater corner, and it still was nothing compared to the speculum.
The plastic ones are true torture devices. The ratcheting clicking sounds makes their use even worse. I always request the use of a metal one. Which material is used should not be the one the doctor prefers but the one that the patient is most confortable with!
I have my upcoming appointment in June to see a male OBGYN doctor and I am very nervous about seeing a male doctor to perform my yearly physical exam. Can you please give me some tips to remain calm?
If that is true, then you would not need a Pap smear or anything inserted in the vagina. An Ob/gyn doctor would know that, I would be hesitant to go see a mid-level provider like a midwife
You won’t be for long after they ram a jack inside you and crank it open ,at least you will never be embarrassed about any other medical procedure after this
2:31 Ugh … these PAPER GOWNS have GOT TO GO. As a man, they gave me one of these for my ‘annual physical.’ Then at a certain point, they had me remove my underwear without even telling me WHY! I didn’t realize until just now that the PAPER GOWN quadrupled my embarrassment! UGH …. 🤦♂️
i have my first exam in two days, but i am terrified to say the least. I have extreme trauma with vagina/anything in their so i am horrified, and i dont want to go at all
Seriously, I don't have a problem with having a male midwife/gynecologist/nurse the same way I wouldn't have a prob with a black doctor or someone of another race. What matters to me is that the provider is competent and professional. Anyone of any race/gender/ethnicity can be professional, gentle, and competent. Way to subvert gender norms and power to ya!

Where or who does the wife of a male OBGYN see? Does his wife book an appointment with her husband/obgyn or see a male or female obgyn from another practice?
Older guidelines stated to do a baseline pap smear after becoming sexually active, now studies show cervical cancer incidence in young people is very low, so it's safe to wait until 21yrs of age to do the baseline pap test. Depending on your risk factors for cancer, a pap smear may or may not be due each year afterward, but you should still have a pelvic exam yearly to check for many other conditions or abnormalities.
In this day and age, there so many women in the medical field who can do this job. There is _NO_ good reason for a man to be doing this job anymore unless there’s only one clinic in the middle of cow country. NO WAY. Any man doing this job has to be OUT OF HIS COTTON-PICKING MIND. There are SO MANY jobs a man can do to make a living. He doesn’t need to be doing this one. UGH … I definitely wouldn’t want this creep around my wife. I don’t care how many daughters he has. In fact, I’d be terrified for his daughters. UGH 🤦♂️
Hi Natasha, the current guidelines are to get them, starting at 21, regardless of sexual activity. That being said, I have several clients who choose not to get them until sexually active, since the main concern is HPV, which is sexually transmitted. The most important thing to remember is that it's YOUR choice. Once I give all the objective information I can, I leave it up to the client to decide how to proceed.
It must have been a male who designed these ridiculous so called gowns. If you want to make your patient a bit less uncomfortable get better gowns. I for one have refused to get into a gown and have refused the stirrups. To me any doctor who insists on them is on a power imbalance trip. You do not need to be naked for these exams.
2:10 Umm … you’re afraid to use the word “stirrups?” Stirrups are not for the horse; they’re a place for the HUMAN to her feet when _riding_ a horse. 🤦♂️ I mean, if you wanna call them “foot doohickeys” or “metal thingamabobs,” then go right ahead. But it’s not like they’re called “horseshoes.” Yeah. THOSE are for horses. 🤦♂️
Not the place for a man to be doing this. I'd be damned if I'd ever let my daughter do this. And I like how he says to save your modesty you lost all modesty when you walked in the room. Then your going to have a strange man with.his face in your personal area and playing with it

I haven't had a period in over a year, so my mom wants me to go-to the gyno for the first time, I'm so scared
@Lolo Boom it's because they think I have PCOS.... I'm also 16
Maybe if she comes with you then you may feel better ? And to can ask for someone to be in the room with you like a nurse .
Thankyou mr midwife this sucks and is scary but you made a lovely video
How thoughtful ❤❤
Also, would love to see article he wrote in this topic but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know if it's like a free access thing or if it's only available with paid subscription to the webinar/course thingy?
Glad I came into this video 😂 chileeee I’m just like oh it’s just like a pap smear atp
I’m currently at my first one and I’m scareddd. I’m waiting to be called
how did it go was it as scary as you though it would be?
@@dalonmurray2089 it wasn’t bad at all
Thank you!
Great video!
I get my period for 3 out of 4 weeks of the month and I have my fisrt app tomorrow and I’m honestly so scared and anxious
Maria Dalton i have my first appointment in november and i’m so scared! i’m 20 and i’ve never been bc in so scared :(
Where are you located because I never have been more comfortable with watching this video. I'm 22 and have always been scared to get this done and never want to do it but I would like to see you.
“You are not a horse” mr midwife 2020
It’s just a piece of plastic, but it hurts like hell.
I almost broke one of my fingers and slammed my back on a big, metal heater corner, and it still was nothing compared to the speculum.
The plastic ones are true torture devices. The ratcheting clicking sounds makes their use even worse. I always request the use of a metal one. Which material is used should not be the one the doctor prefers but the one that the patient is most confortable with!
Why lady nurse 👩⚕️ cant get that sample? Should doctors 🥼 need to get samples? In PCs test never done by doctors? I can’t really understand
I have my upcoming appointment in June to see a male OBGYN doctor and I am very nervous about seeing a male doctor to perform my yearly physical exam. Can you please give me some tips to remain calm?
Do you put it in sideways then turn? Wasn't sure what the correct form is? Also the small speculum how big is it? Like in inches
I would go to a gynecologist but I wouldn’t want nothing inserted because I’m a virgin
If that is true, then you would not need a Pap smear or anything inserted in the vagina. An Ob/gyn doctor would know that, I would be hesitant to go see a mid-level provider like a midwife
You won’t be for long after they ram a jack inside you and crank it open ,at least you will never be embarrassed about any other medical procedure after this
If you don't feel good than you can stop in between that patients right
Wow. A male Midwife on UA-cam. Awesome. Subscribing
if the pap smear hurts ,,its because the doctor uses too much force,, tell the doc to be gentle
Oh God I’m going on the weekends. I’m very nervous 😟
I have extreme trauma with vagina/anything in their so i am horrified, and i dont want to go at all
How did it go 😳
@@destinyaustin1540 ....I ran out from fear to say the least. I also had a dick doctor, so if you ever go get a good doctor
@@destinyaustin1540 thank you
very helpful ty!
I am so much scared to give vaginal examination.. Plz suggest me what can i do. I feel so fear.
Hi doctor my name is Mrs Esther Sunday from Nigerian. Doctor I run a test prolactinomas and the test results shows that my prolactin is high to this point (87.417ng/ml) having been taking this medication (BROMERGON 2.5 mg tablets) for the past two months yet I'm not pregnant please advise me on what to do, should I continue taking this same medication.
Does putting the thingy in the cervix hurt?
Not him on that table 😂😂
My heart is pounding out of my chest , I'm like do I really need to do this, can't they just skip to someone else 😪 😩
this is me rn 😂
I have a few questions. My mom is trying to get an appointment with a gynaecologist, but theres something im afraid of. I have masturbated before. I make sure to keep everything clean and only do it a healthy amount, but im afraid the gynaecologist is going to mention it to my mom. Id rather not make things awkward between us lol. Do gynaecologists usually bring that up? And is it a problem that i do it even if i keep things clean?
No u have privacy rights it’s up to u to tell ur mom if u don’t want her to k she doesn’t have to k and the Doc cannot tell her anything
R u the one who decides if someone is pregnant? My gf got an ultra sound . 27 days missed period , pregnancy test come back negative . The doctor at ultra sound everythh hyu info looked good, nothing she could see , Nd now she sent her to a gym . Is this for them to tell her she pregnant?
When I went to the OBGYN for the first time ion remember the doctor using a flashlight 😶
Where or who does the wife of a male OBGYN see? Does his wife book an appointment with her husband/obgyn or see a male or female obgyn from another practice?
Typically, a Dr cannot see direct family members.
Why iam feel very uncomfortable when my girl friend visiting a male gynocologist.🙁
Hmm my first pap I was pretty young. Why is it 21 now?
Older guidelines stated to do a baseline pap smear after becoming sexually active, now studies show cervical cancer incidence in young people is very low, so it's safe to wait until 21yrs of age to do the baseline pap test. Depending on your risk factors for cancer, a pap smear may or may not be due each year afterward, but you should still have a pelvic exam yearly to check for many other conditions or abnormalities.
@@stephensmith4453 makes sense my mom side had tons of issues. That was terrible doing the pap at a younger age.
UGH 🤦♂️
Did you know?: Women have been studying penises for a millennia also?
Male or female doctor, doesn't bother me. They are medical professionals.
I have never had a pap smear and I am 23. Do women get it done when they are sexual active because I am not. I am just confused.
Too painful for me.
Im going to become gyno one day
Omg i wish u was my dr the one i have/had was horrible 😭
I never had a pap I’m 23 tbh I do have a concern lol....
Hi jacob
Oh hell no sir ✋💀 thank you and goodbye

Lmao this comment 😂😂😂 I go June 2nd and I’m scared af
beware of the dr. that puts your knees over his shoulders instead of the foot holders,he's way to close to his work
👍👍 Thank You
It must have been a male who designed these ridiculous so called gowns. If you want to make your patient a bit less uncomfortable get better gowns. I for one have refused to get into a gown and have refused the stirrups. To me any doctor who insists on them is on a power imbalance trip. You do not need to be naked for these exams.
Was a man who designed speculum developed on black slaves against their will
2:10 Umm … you’re afraid to use the word “stirrups?” Stirrups are not for the horse; they’re a place for the HUMAN to her feet when _riding_ a horse. 🤦♂️ I mean, if you wanna call them “foot doohickeys” or “metal thingamabobs,” then go right ahead.
But it’s not like they’re called “horseshoes.” Yeah. THOSE are for horses. 🤦♂️
Can virgin women have this check too?
Yes
Mostly for period concerns or for birth control
@@CrossLiz ty!! Do u know if it’s possible for them to sleep u so u don’t feel much pain?
The Who recommends it for all women . It's up to you , you need to talk to whoever is doing the test .
Im scared;( omg ;(
If this guy can’t find the Clitoris we’re screwed for sure.
I’m never going to the gyno thingy ppl discussing ewww ahhhh nooooo
katabella i think you have to
dinofun 521 why
katabella i don’t know i guess just for health things like going to the family doctor
dinofun 521 I just won’t go I mean they can’t physically force me to
katabella eh i guess it’s just like you should go because they check for issues and stuff but you don’t have to
OMG NO😭
Not the place for a man to be doing this. I'd be damned if I'd ever let my daughter do this. And I like how he says to save your modesty you lost all modesty when you walked in the room. Then your going to have a strange man with.his face in your personal area and playing with it
How do you know a female gyn isn't a lesbian?
@@shelleyswan535 It's still a woman with the same genitalia. She's seen it and has it
This is a prank video right? 😂
I'll be damned if I'd let my daughter go to a male Dr. never mind her 1st.
Presumably your daughter is (or was) a minor...I'll be damned if I'd let anyone tell me I can't have a male Dr. if I prefer one.
