Jon, another hung up by many is we often ask: What should I do now? God is more interested in our relationship with him than in what we should do for Him. We are all too caught up in trying to do something for God. Slow down and listen to his voice, we will know what God's will is..His good, pleasing and perfect will.
A friend told me, and I can't say it verbatim, but our purpose is to know God and have an intimate relationship with him. From knowing him intimately and personally, we will naturally want to share this great, glorious, saving, unchanging, steadfast God to others.

I've always had the strong belief that no matter what we choose, God will guide us to the path that He had planned for us. He invites us to choose, but He never forces His plans for us, on us. I guess we get caught up with where, when and how because it's just the human nature of ourselves to just doubt because we are so in need of control of almost everything of our lives. Plus, some just wants to be sure? We always hope for a loud shout from God to tell us what He wants us to do, but we often forget that we have free will. We are called to not worry and let go, let God. But it calls for more of an inner willingness to not just say it but to do it- to let go and let God take over.
God answered it for me 2 years ago and it is still a work in progress. Thank God. God showed me a vision of teaching kids while I am praying. So I did, I teached special children but then God knows my heart very well. He showed me a vision of me standing at the center with baby cots around me and me holding a baby, not my own, and have toddlers around. I knew that was the daycareI dreamed of having. God is preparing me to have it in the future. I believe. So now, I got this job offer to work in a daycare. Praise God. :)

Matt. 28:? and with that, I believe each person has a specific calling on their lives, where ever you are, and God will show you and speak to you what He wants you to do according to that specific calling, that He may not ask anyone els. So often He is asking us what we want to do because He will be with us and empower us to love well no matter where we are or who we are with. I think we can do what in many other ways.
And that is accomplished through Acting Justly, Loving Mercy, Walking Humbly, Loving God and Loving People.
