Dude you are one hell of a teacher! You really have your shit together, and want to add that your fast becoming one of my favorite artists. Thank you and can't wait to see what you do in the future.
This arrangement is so great, it's bonkers! I've occasionally strummed my way through this tune playing nothing but straight cowboy chords, and now it's time to go back to school.. All the harmony and syncopation you're giving us here just takes it to a whole other level for a solo acoustic guitar. I almost feel like you don't even need the vocal, and this arrangement would be interesting enough just as an instrumental.. Frigging stellar!
Dude, U made me really start to play again at 62...Great vids , great vocals, great players, great songs, WOW … Can't stop watching
As me aswell very talented player in almost every instrument he wanna play
Can't tell you how grateful I am that you spent the time to share your arrangement on youtube, as a lesson no less. Great work, man!
I appreciate that the line you play in the opening section in C is the middle harmony. People always do the top one that Paul sings but the other two are arguably more beautiful.
Been waiting for this!
me too!
I was playing by ear your arragement on this song.. This makes things much easier, thanks from Argentina ♥
You are a treasure. Thank you for all of your dedication and beautiful music.
"Pretty dang challenging"! Josh, you have no idea how well you can play. You have a great gift.
Hey Josh, just wanted to say this "advanced lesson" style of video is really great. You did a good job of getting across the not so clear stuff, without over-explaining the things most experienced players pick up on easily. Very nice job, would love to see more videos like this.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I saw your cover and tried to figure out how you played it but couldn't. Now I can learn it. Thanks Josh!
OMG no way!! been waiting for this. Your arrangement is a peace of art!! thanks Josh
You're just a huge motivation Josh... I mean it !
I've been playing for over forty years and you are impressing the hell out of me....what a great arrangement!
I've been hoping for this since the release of your version. So happy to see this!
Two notifications in a row? somebody's trying to make me pick up my guitar
What a wonderfully talented musician you are
Oh you watched that vid?
How nice
thank'you very much for this video. Your rendition has inspired me a lot. Greetings from Italy
this is one oft those songs where you first of all think hell no im never gonna play this. and then with some effort you can do it! Thanks Josh;)
Extremely grateful you made this video. Thank you so much, Josh.
Im so stoked you put up a turorial for this thanks dude!!
I subbed when I watched your performance of Eleanor Rigby. After this I’m wondering how I can double sub.

Ok I transcribed this lesson as carefully as I could, so if anyone's interested in learning this with a notation reference (and obviously if Josh is ok with it) just let me know and I'll send him the pdf! This is one of my first attempts in transcribing song, so I'm glad to share it with anyone who may need it and likely get any kind of feedback!

Q aula maravilhosa estou recebendo aos 73 anos de um jovem (Josh Star music).,,.e assim a música se perpetua; Beatles, Jim Croce e tudo+++! Congratulations!
Your arrangement is fantastic, your playing is fantastic, your tutorial is fantastic. You, sir, are fantastic.
Thanks for uploading this video in was trying so hard to get that out of your cover video and I just couldn't get some of the exact notes there.tnx man:-)
The lick at approximately 15:04 is so original and pure genius. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Great stuff! Thank you for posting this! It's a lovely, subtle, tasteful, complex but unflashy arrangement, played with great feeling and "fluiidity".
And you're a very good singer, too, unlike many fingerstyle guitarists I see on the Web. I look forward to exploring your work!
THANK YOU for making this lesson! Probably the best cover arrangement of any song ever. Incredible. Thanks again for the lesson! Very generous of you!
The cockroach asked the Centipede "How the hell do you remember that you have to lift the leg # 25 at the same time as the leg # 43 ?"... The Centipede started to think about it ...and ever since, can't walk anymore !
now that made me laugh - thanks
if you dissect a bird will it fly again ?
You blow my mind with your fantastic playing! Thanks so much for this detailed lesson.
Thank you for the tutorial. Now I understand what I've been doing wrong for so long! You're a great teacher! Please post more tutorial videos. I'm always excited to see new videos from you!

Superman. I am amazed as usual. I should have this piece by my next lifetime!!
Absolutely fabulous Josh, thank you for posting and your time working this wonderful tune out.
Fantastic and thorough play-through. Fascinating.
I´m learning this and I love this arrangement. Your thumb upstrokes are unique.
Have you learnt it yet? Was it difficult?
@@natashafernandes8865 yes, I learnt it when the video came out and I have been playing it ever since. The arrangement is complex and takes some time to learn. But once you do it feels so natural and sounds so great. Josh is a master arranger.
@@juansastre1729 thank you very much for the reply, I'm new to the guitar so I don't think this is the song song for me. I will stick to wonderwall for the time being. But later one when I get the hang of the guitar I shall learn this. I'm glad you took the time and effort to learn it. Now you can empress people.
@@natashafernandes8865 please tell my you learned this song 🎵
Really like your musical style. This lesson is easy to watch and listen to because you don;t get into the annoying specific details of string/fret positions. I can see what you are doing and with your overall description I can pretty much get what you are doing though I cannot even get close to doing this. But your teaching styles fits my learning capabilities and patience (lack of). I will now strive to watch this often and learn what I can. Very much appreciated! Best Wishes!
Thank you !! I tried to learn it from your previous video and it was a bit difficult ^^'
You're the best !
Greetings from France !
Hey Josh, thank you so much for posting the tutorial. Your cover is awesome
Thanks for breaking it down and sharing the challenge... wonderful drone and off beat harmonics - how the Beatles or Paul might have dreamed to play it live on guitar.
"A string section scored by Beatles producer George Martin consisting of four violins, two violas and two cellos were used in recording. Paul may have been inspired by the classic composer Vivaldi. The Beatles didn't play any of the instruments on this track. All the music came from the string players, who were hired as session musicians. Because of the string section, this was difficult to play live, which The Beatles never did. On his 2002 Back In The US tour, Paul McCartney played this without the strings. Keyboards were used to compensate." from Song Facts
You did a really good job with this and you teach really well. Most people cant speak plainly about what they are playing and then they over speak on things that aren't necessary. Its like they would try to teach and advanced arrangement like this to beginners using their language, its so dumb it makes me want to smack them over the head with an acoustic guitar like out of a cartoon or something. You may very well be a true genius. I got the harmonic part down but I'm going to have to come back and get the rest, this is next level for me, I can basically do it with other things but not quite like this. Thank you!
Christ jesus, if somebody fancies doing a transcription/tab of this, that would be amazing!
inspiring ! - i've always rather been the electric guitar / midtempo funk kinda guy, but since i've seen your dont think twice cover with your buddy, im soo stoked for acoustic and fingerstyle :)
Just finished learning the song! Thanks a lot Josh, very nice of you to make this tutorial.
Lovely Lesson Josh, great work and stunning arrangement!

Thanks for the lesson, it helped me alot! You're a great musician!!
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved
All the lonely people
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all belong?
The sound of your speaking voice is so satisfying. I don't know why but I thought you should know.
Damn I saw the original video wondering how the hell am I gonna be able to play something that intricate and 4 days later I know how to play it because of this video. This was a test on my playing as well as learning ability. Thank you for this video
Thanks for posting this Josh. Loved this when it first came out (the original instrumental you posted).
Josh - thanks!! I'd call myself an intermediate player, and like everyone else was blown away by your cover. To now be able to play it (to an approximation, at least), thanks to this fantastic tutorial, is incredibly confidence-inspiring and I can't thank you enough. I found his lesson to be perfect, just the right pace and level of detail, so I could bite off pieces and learn the whole thing over a couple weeks (I can only pay about a 1/3 at all well yet, but ... time). Singing at the same time, though, seems like science fiction! Also, I covet that Martin ... If you're taking votes: tutorial on Just Like Heaven.
I really appreciate these tutorials man, your arrangements are amazing. Thanks for shareing
Man your fingers are perfect for guitar playing. That pinky is like a second index finger! Makes me jealous! I cannot curl my pinky and ring finger independently. It's a huge hurdle to my playing.
Learning it right now, so fun to play. Thanks for sharing man, i love it
You are the shit Josh. Love your arrangement.
What would be perfect, would be McCartney, posting a compliment on the magical, musical talent, Josh possesses in covering his exceptional song so well and could not be bettered, instrumentally on a single instrument! Wonderful!!!!!
I spent so much time trying to learn your nice version from the video. thank you !!!!
Josh...you are so talented, it's a blast just to watch you play. Thanks for sharing all of your
videos! ♫ ♫
So nice! Looking forward for more lessons!!
Thanks man! I really love your arrangement on this song. love from south east asia.

You must put some serious hours into your craft! As a musician myself for over 40 years, I see the effort you put in. Excellent|!!

Fantastic, dude! Thanks for you generosity! I'm gonna study your precious lesson!
This song works really well on banjo. I made an arrangement for banjo a few years back.
Thank you, Josh Turner, for your time. How can I support you in return?
I've been waiting for your "Valerie" cover version, please. Thanks!
