I liked your comment although I wish to add that his voice certainly is inspired by Lou's but, no disrespect, it is immensely richer (and therefore better). ;)
I agree whole heartedly. Julian was heavily influenced by The Velvet Underground. Also, The Doors. As it was reported back in like 2001. The Strokes is the best band in the history of the world. :)
When the Strokes first came out I was a little slow in getting into them, Room on fire was the first l.p I got, which I loved. I saw an interview with Jules saying he saw Lou in a restaurant once but was too shy to say hello. (This was early in the Strokes career I think.) Well Lou's influence is obvious to hear, but Jules is absolutely amazing in his own right. Saw the Voidz twice this year and just had the best time. Anyway, loved this version and i'm pretty sure Lou would love Jules work if he wasn't aware of it in his life. Two of the great New York poets for sure. Viva LR & JC! ",..,"
Wtf I was listening to Lou reed a while ago and I was like omg is this Julian? They sound very similar specially towards the end of the sentence you know? Def big influence on Julian on the voidz I think mostly and the last the strokes album
"I'm just an actor, playin' _Lou Reed_ right now!"
Julian's so incredibly kind, doesn't wanna deceive anyone!
actors they're pretending
singers they will sometimes lie
Julian casablancas doing lou reed at the opening of a levi's store is the most nyc thing that has ever happened
His voice is identical to Lou's. With a bit of Tom Verlaine.
His voice suits this song so well

Yeah it does!
@@funfor1life 😐🤨
What a load of Fucken Bull SHIT! Completely unnecessary!!! I'll dig out my copy of Transformer if I want to hear this!!!!! HOOEY!
I think its because he learned how to sing from the velvet underground records mostly and idolized lou reed like no other
you can clearly hear the velvet underground influence in the strokes, so this was cool to see.
You can clearly hear the VU influence in most great indie rock bands......
@@zarategabe such as?

The best poet of indie music currently, performing the masterpiece of one of the greatest indie poet ever. Anything else?
The best poet is Alex Turner actually
@@danielyourestillachad5542 You must be from England. Alex isn't that good.
@@--REGULAR--REGULAR no im not and yes he is. im not talking about music, im talking about lyrics. listen to his solo album and then come back to me
Alex turner looooooool
Imagine being such a fanboy you even think Julian writes better lyrics than Alex LMAO

The strokes actually covered this song once with Lou Reed
@@williamberry2351 is there audio or footage of this?
specter1001 i still havent been able to find it. They spoke about this in one of the Five guys episodes. Think it was the third episode
William Berry the cover is on here somewhere, someone shared it on their subreddit a while bacj
Lmao, when Jules knocks down the mic stand there is some noise that just makes the experience funny 😆
Julian is todays Lou, two insanely talented and amazing people.
This is awesome his voice is truly amazing
I was expecting to hear Julian doing that du-duru-dudurudu thing
Understatement tbh
he’s not a colored girl
He knocked the microphone down as he passed by, leaving the stage. shadows never go away

Why are these black girls vibrating the end of the DOOT DOOT DOOT!? The whole crooning of that line throws it off balance.
That's how the original song is. Give it a listen sometime.
That comment sounded racist and stupid.
it does sound terrible yes, but the rest of this cover is basically perfect, so why not focus on that instead
