I wish Julian would do a doors cover. Or songs similar to the doors, he has an amazingly rich and beautiful voice for songs like that. We didn't hear enough of him here.
I always thinked that Strokes can recreate a cool covers from Doors. At least they have the kinda vocals.

I remember this night. I got stranded with some people after the show. It got so late there was literally no one outside. We were all just posted outside a Del Taco desperately trying to get a ride when out of nowhere fucking Brooks pulls out of the drive threw. He was really cool he got out of the passenger seat of the car he was in to say what’s up to us. Good times.
This is when i first heard of The Growlers. They are pretty "Stroke"-ish but in their own way. I guess the drum signatures are similar somewhere.

Covering a song doesn't exactly mean to do it the same way the original artist recorded it. That's why its unique or different when a band uses their own style and sound to cover it. If it sounded like the exact same thing from its origins then there would be no point of covering it. For instance if you listen to T. Rex and listen to Ty Segall's covers of T. Rex, the covers sound like songs created by Ty Segall himself.
That's no excuse for fucking it up.
