just recently change my arrow to hero icons. really works well you can avoid certain heroes thats a treat to you. and you can hunt heroes that are weak.
If you want to play puck, you need to uncheck that "channeled abilities require to stop". Correct me if I wrong, but I think you can't teleport to orb from phase shift without pressing "s"
You are correct! Though it's still sound advice for new players to use the channeled abilities require stop functionality while developing the muscle memory to not have additional APM spent on commands that would unintentionally stop a channel. Once they've developed that muscle memory and are instead developing Shift-Queue habits they can look to disengage this setting and get full functionality back to cancel channels early when they intend to.
@@rodrigoduderti3874 it will use the max channel time of Phase Shift before Jaunting. If you phase shift right after using Illusory Orb then you will always be able to max channel Phase Shift and still Jaunt :)
@@beneaththeveil but being that said, you cannot control whenever you want to jaunt or stop on the illusory orb because you have to wait for the channel to stop right?
Thank you brother. I saw you on resdit and I checked your videos and it's really helpful. Been playing this masterpiece since 2006 (Dota 1). Keep this kind of videos going. Suppoert all the way!
Hi, what I have highlighted in this video are what I think would be the necessary settings to have. The other settings such as quick cast, quick attack etc are more based off preference and getting used to.
I have always wondered, as a carry player which 'Right-Click Allies' setting would be better? I tried to play a bit with all of them and for now have stuck with 'To Deny' as it feels more.. Natural? I would have liked to hear your thoughts on it!
As long as it feels good to use personally, then that would be the setting best suited for you. Those aren't really major settings I think, so to deny or to attack should be fine.
I always played with colored hero arrows, no need to check with alt who that hero is and seemed easy to look at top, also during a match I always memorize who is which color.
Hi, both have its pros and cons. Auto attack requires that you always have sharp concentration on what your hero is doing to stop it from moving into something by having a finger always ready on the 'Stop' button. The upside is that your hero will never AFK when checking for information around the map when you are farming/hitting something. Standard on the other hand might make your hero stand still often and result in some things being missed such as CS or having downtime. Again, both are equally alright, pros and cons weighted.
Hey Balloon, thanks for all the educational videos for dota. I was hoping for a video where you can explain about picking hero drafting in dota. Where which hero is good for that game and which is not.
Hi bro, generally I would recommend leaving the video settings on the lower end of graphics to minimize distractions from your screen and increase FPS rate.
I know it’s very hard habit to break but I’m convinced quick cast on key-up as well as quick attack are objectively better. It took me about 25 games to get fully comfortable with it but I consider it the most worthwhile settings change a player can make
I disagree, I rather have quick cast on key down/as soon as you press it so that there is no delay between your action and intention vs having to press then let go for it to activate.
@@teh5408showit means that spells will only be used if you let go of the key. Key press down - as soon as you press the key it will cast. But key up - after u let go of the key it will cast.

Yes, on certain heroes you might want to disable this option, with Puck being one of the specific examples.
@@beneaththeveil hello, what is the purpose using shift - queue for puck? it will just use the max travel of orb before you can use the jaunt right?

A little reminder for the supporters : watching video from start to finish with the sound on matters as much as clicking on the like button :)
wow, a hotkeys video that is actually really useful! quick question, why do you not use quick attack/quick move?
Hi, what I have highlighted in this video are what I think would be the necessary settings to have. The other settings such as quick cast, quick attack etc are more based off preference and getting used to.
i used quick cast and cast depending on item. I also use cast, quick cast and quick cast on release depending on skills
Where is the hotkey to enable toggle skill such as OD/MK(shard) first skill?

sounds like hero icons but with extra steps xd

hi balloondota, thanks for the video. I have something to ask related to settings. why do you consider autoattack always is superior to standard?

how do you move the camera with edge pan dissable?
I use middle mouse button for camera grip
U didnt talk about enabling quick cast

camera speed 2k?
@@iuu4029 I use camera grip without edge pan so camera speed is not covered in this video ya
