    Perfect again!
    I think you need to make a polished stainless steel plate on the deck where the anchor can hit the teak.

    I need help with a lofran x4 when using the drum to release ropes not the anchor . When releasing the mooring ropes the drum start making stuck noise and won’t realease it’s like if it was straining but when pulling in mooring rope which is more pressure it works perfect

    Another great video, where I learned a little bit. I'm also completely remaking a steel sailing boat, just at the beginning of the adventure, and I really like to see how you work. It's always with a lot of care for details even with small mistakes. Keep up the good work! You have my thumbs up!

    Gabriele, I am curious, did you add a shelf to lift the anchor chain off the bottom of the locker so it stays dry? Or do you just let the chain fall to the bottom of the locker?

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  2 роки тому +1

      +Kurt Braun yes I make a shelf that permit the water to drain below and it maintain the chain about 2/3 cm lift from the bottom is made by plywood and paint with double components paint epoxy

    Amazing work and very neat. Just to ask, I'm busy installing exact same windlass. The manual says 40mm max thickness on deck. I see your deck and profile is beyond that thickness. If the windlass is too high, the key does not fit all the way into the motor. Is this a problem or not??

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  3 роки тому

      Uh uh …. Depending of how much the key will fit it… how thick is your deck?

    Gabriele, I figured out the best way to watch your videos! I imagine that Ellos is my boat and you are the person who is fixing her up for me! : - ) I am so glad you do excellent work making my boat even better than new. Plus, I never have to pay you AND you make videos of your progress. What could be better than that? The only problem I see is how do I get my boat from Italy to the US after you are done? Hmmmm. lol Leaving my imagination behind, it is very nice to see the progress you are making on Ellos. Scott W PS - At 4:22 I noticed your friend Ed came back! Seems like you want to do something very nasty to him. haha

    Hi - love the channel. Great attention to detail :-) We are planning to fit a lofrans windlass aswell so found this very helpful. Please can i ask - it looks like you have 40mm thick deck + 20mm teak pad on deck so at least 60mm thick in total? Did you get a special version of the X2 from Lofrans as the manual for the standard one says it can only do a 40mm thick deck in total? Many thanks for your videos - looking forward to seeing Ellos in the water and glad you have recovered.

    • @sea4see

      +Chris P ciao Chris! Thx for appreciate my work!! Don’t worry regarding the bolts! You don’t need to buy from Lofrans but you can buy a M8 stainless steel 316 threaded bar and cut it at your need.. is better this way because you can make your own custom made installation believe me is a piece of cake!!
