➡️ About My Boats: The Hallberg - Rassy 312 was built for fifteen years between 1979 and 1993. Totally 690 boats were built during this time period. The HR 312 was a very popular model. Until 1986 the Hallberg - Rassy 312 Mark I was built, with the portlights in the blue stripe in the hull and with or without quarter berth. Models without quarter berth had an extra cockpit locker on starboard.

Excellent workmanship. Many years ago I attended a furniture restoration course. To mend a deep scratch we were taught to use a very damp cloth and a hot iron. The steam penetrates the wood fibres and causes then to swell. In principle no different from what you did, just a bit quicker. Thanks for sharing. Mike

We used to use a damp cloth and an iron, or also a steam iron. But for wood with a sealer like you have, this is quite a good method...dent be gone!
Hot iron ruin the varnish.... so I chose this method!!!
I was thinking that there would be no sanding in this episode but there it was at the end! Great attention to detail, as usual. Complimenti!

Oh, I think there will always be sanding! haha And I am pretty sure Gabriele's favorite movie is True Grit! Not the western - the one about sand paper. lol

great stuff again. I liked the cleaning of the hingers...did it also on our HR352, with Autosol. still curious what kind of acid you used. Can you explain or share the type of acid?

Now I watch! . . . And now I am done! Next time you have to show us the installation of the bottom seat cushions! : - ) Also, it was good to see how you make the hinges look like new. And one comment about that valve. It looks like it will be very hard to turn off the flow manually since the handle is almost hidden and hard to reach. Let's hope the electronic on/off works well and for a long time!
I am also wondering will we see the boat inspectors doing their job? They may not like being recorded and it may be hard to video while they do their job - not to mention they are sure to speak Italian, which many of us would not understand. But I am sure you will pass the inspection! But I suppose they may find something they would like to be different. You never know.

Ah ah ah don’t worry nothing is difficult to reach where I install it!! Before drill or install any stuff I make like the reverse engineering.. all must be reach disassemble and installed without pain. If not.. I didn’t. Inspector was more interested in the boat finish that the technical aspect... I was proud to show my solution but at the end he said... beautiful boat! Job done💪🏻

Hey Mate I use a acid solforic compost
You can also find citric acid from your local supermarket. It's called kitchen sink polish in that case. ;-)

I would agree that the hinges should be hidden. With such perfection we have little to comment on. Great job.
Dave .. could be ...but I replicate the original setup to avoid holes in the forniture to hidden!!! That in this case the result will be bad
