Love this video. It shows how you don't need to be born with style and fashion sense, they can also be learned. Plus reacting to self's photos instead of using others' outfits is a top move.
I dont think the previous outfits were bad, its just on trend now to wear boxy tees and regular trousers.. the previous outfits were right for the time
Pleased to hear. I don’t wear boxy tees these days either though. My stuff just fits better. The proportions and fit on the old outfits weren’t right for any time
@@HarryHas do you have any advides to actually get fitting pieces? the usal shirts from zara, cos and H&m are always to long for my bodyshape.. guess i have to bring them to the tailor since there is literally nothing cropped when you buy them stock..
I think the sweet spot is somewhere between your two outfits each time. I agree completely that the old trousers were far too short and tucking in your t shirt/shirt makes the outfit look more polished by elongating your legs. However for me, the updated fits are far too loose (except outfit 3). I couldn't wear something like that without feeling like I looked as though I'd borrowed someone else's much larger clothing. However, that is what's in fashion so makes sense right now (and then it will reverse again in the next few years). Really good video though on showing the value of proportions when dressing as, like you say, it's an easy way to improve/alter a look.
That’s interesting as I don’t feel the outfits were loose fitting at all. I think the pair of black trousers are slightly wide but the jeans and other trousers were slim for me. Gotta do what works for you bro and I would never advise people copy exactly what I do.
@HarryHas Completely agree, you've got to do what works for you and wear what you feel most confident in. Besides if we all dressed exactly the same, that would be very boring.
Yeah, went from too slim to too baggy. Will be swapping back again in two years and just playing this video backwards. I think the change is too dramatic and trend following. Should just go somewhere in between and then be done with it.
Three All Black Outfits and three different vibes he is pulling off .....1st look like a rockstar,2nd like a high schooler & 3rd like my Dad.....great work Harry👏🙌
Great video Harry! I used to kind of dress similarly wearing things a bit too tight and I never really experimented with more loose fit clothing. I used to try and squeeze myself into skinny jeans when I have slightly bigger thighs myself 😅 been working towards building a better wardrobe with better cuts and fits for my body type, and your channel has really helped! Thanks!
thank you for the way you present this topic. Allmost none of the other style channels are covering proportions and other factors which are important. That's what sets you apart. And even if I'm not a fan of your style, I still enjoy to watch it, because I can learn something and transfer it to my style. This has for me a lot more value than watching someone with a style I WISH I could own only to realize later that it doesn't work for me (tall, mascular, short bowlegs :( ). Thanks again. btw, your new style is much better ;).
This video not only taught me to enhance my outfit, also it made think once more about buying new clothes, which now I won’t cause when i took a look at my closet I already have things to make me look better than buying more
Harry love the last photo with the blue sweatshirt and large overcoat - very classy! Your style is constantly revolving and your seem to know what works and what doesn't..keep them coming!
if i wear long t shirts its with very relaxed and long pants that go completely over the shoe to the ground almost so the proportions balance out. Also to help I wear a tall beanie for a bit of intentionality. I think layering a long ass shirt under a standard length layer helps to make it look normal. I reeally enjoy cropped shirts too but dont ever just think you only need all your tops to be a certain length.

Great vid. I wonder if in the future we'll look back at today and laugh at the thought of the rule of thirds, it really has become so apparent that I almost feel it could be a trend rather than a timeless aesthetic. I remember when longline tees were popular, it might not be long before avant-garde enthusiasts ditch the rule completely and we start to see people experiment with different proportions.
It’s something people have been doing forever. Women have done it forever and although it’s trending now, it just looks good. I think really cropped tees will fade out a bit but good proportions are good proportions. It’s nothing new
@@HarryHas That's true but if that's really the case then men would have continued dressing with these proportions since the 40s but there have been decades like the 90's, 00's and even 10's where these rules have been broken and become the norm. For every movement there is often a counter-movement just like how we're seeing minimalism become popular after the wave of maximalism. Tucking your t-shirt in or wearing relaxed trousers a decade or two ago would probably have got you laughed at hence why you looked the way you did in those photos. They aren't necessarily bad fits, just not of this time. It's easy to dismiss this with hindsight.
You looked great in the 2nd outfit: slimmer trousers were in and we could not find anything else anyway! The outfit 4 shows 2 different styles of coat: the car coat and the oversized coat. The length of the car coat suits you but was maybe a size too small. My point is that trends dictate what’s in the store: I hated slim and skinny jeans/pants and had to rely entirely on 2nd hand stores!!!
Would like a comparison with various fits for current pictures rather than what the trend is right now, we are always critical about the past and think our present is the best
The point here is not that the previous outfits were "wrong," but that style is cyclical, and you can justify any style that's on trend. If 2013-Harry were to judge your current outfit, he'd say that the boxy cut tees and flowy pants were unflattering and make it look like your tall, trim body is swimming in clothes. One need only go back and read any men's style magazine from years ago to see how the writers justified the clothes from that time using some argument about accentuating a "universal" aesthetic (elongating the body, pleasing proportions, etc.).
I think the medium length hair is trendy right now but you look good with shorter hair too. I think if you combed the long hair back it would look better than middle part.
Was watching on my tv but had to go pick my phone up from the charger to comment and let you know how clean and fire your revamped outfits look ! One of my favorite fashion UA-camrs for a long time and love watching you improve even more !! :)

3:39 This is my go to style, work well with the rule of thirds that you've talked about before. My problem with this fit arises when I'm outdoors vs. indoors. Outdoors I want the my shirt tucked in for a neater look. Indoors I like my shirt untucked, as I feel it looks odd/too formal on it's own (like you mentioned in your last fit). Undoing my belt, zipping up my pants, tucking in my shirt every time I go outside or inside seems very cumbersome and embarrassing to do in public. Anyone else think this is a problem and how do you deal with it?
Tucked shirts look really good on you; they perfectly compliment your figure, and add a lot of character and sophistication to your fits! Edit: this is a personal nitpick: but i'd recommend folding up the sleeves of the dress shirt in the smart fit; they'll make for a more flowy, less stiff vibe; whenever i see someone who has their cuffs buttoned up: it just gives me a really restricted, stiff impression. oh! and tossing on a good Casio A168 or any other dress watch would do wonders for that fit!
HH strikes again! Interesting idea, beautifully executed, and super helpful! (p.s. the link to the trousers for outfit 3 doesn't take us to the trousers, but I'm so interested in them! try again?). Thanks Harry!
oh, one more comment about your last look with the overcoat. I think it would benefit from a slightly tighter fit with a more pronounced silhouette. It would make then your back and shoulders appear wider. Because I think that your choice makes you look a bit like you have looted it in the battlefield from a bigger guy, if you know what I mean ;).
Harry, thank you for all the style advice. I have a question for you (or anyone in the comments section). Is there a female UA-camr you'd recommend? My fiance mainly wears sports clothes as her everyday style, but wants to look more fashionable to complement me. My style is monochromatic, mainly consisting of blacks and Gray's, but she likes more color in her wardrobe. My fiance is 5'4, 180lbs, and isn't into the "girly" style. She's looking for something that can be versatile. Something with style, but can be translated into the workplace. I hope this helps. Many thanks in advance and God bless, y'all!

Isn't getting better at outfits also a function of what and how your personal style has evolved over the years. In the past you may have liked those croppy or slim fits but now prefer a different fit on yourself. Also - it is a function how the person styles his/her outfit based on his/her demographics.
That’s true but I definitely have a better understanding of what works and doesn’t work for me. The fit on the old outfits wasn’t good, regardless of the style. I don’t think my style is that different today.
I agree that Harry's style has evolved over the years and transitioned to what is in style now. To say he would have worn this versus that back then is not entirely probable considering the fits were not trending during that time. So, this is an example of his fashion evolving to what is current. Now, I can understand that hindsight is 20/20 and there are things we can do differently, but that does not mean it was a bad fit DURING the time. Fashion comes full circle and a modern tailored fit will come back around.
Hey Harry! How do you wash your Homme Plisse pants? Do you use the washing machine in cold+delicate mode or do you take them to stores and dry clean them?
I just wash them in a washing machine below 30 degrees when possible. I have washed them at 40 degrees lots of times too, even though you should stick below 30 but when doing a load I sometimes forget. They come out great regardless.
Great video as always! I wonder how long did it take you to have that medium length hair? I'm trying to grow mine as well to that length as I don't want something that's too long. It's currently 2 months since my last haircut and I feel like I can extend it longer and I feel like I can achieve it around the 6th month mark...
Thank you. I did it gradually. I got a cut every 6 weeks or so just for a tidy up. I would recommend doing the same as it makes the growing out process much more enjoyable. I can’t remember exactly how long it took because it was gradual though

I can’t remember exactly how long it took because it was gradual though
brb gonna throw all my tighter cropped pants into a fire 😭
Sigh, looks like I need some Homme Plisse’s lol
3:22 That outfit looks fine to me.
Rule of thirds is always the way to go
Would be better if you started uploading short grwm videos every day or every other day
I’d love to it’s just finding the time
I really like your old photos, what does it say about my fashion sense 😅 I get the point though
Style is subjective so there is no wrong or right. It’s whatever you prefer at the end of the day
I love the "don't ever wear this" thing. I can rock skinny pants, I have very long hair, and love hats at the gym. It's my thing. Find your thing.
That's a pretty cool jacket 3:51, where you get it?
Everything is linked in the description 🤟
@@HarryHas:( they ran out of the one you had on?
Where are those black trousers from the second outfit from (left side)?
All linked in the description bro 🤟
Awesome thanks
roll up sleeves in the thumbnail and it looks pretty sick. maybe switch the tshirt out while ur at it.
too be honest, most of these are just your frame looking nicer, i mean you've probably hit the gym and that payed off
