Always learn something here. This is why being a member of this channel is worth every single penny! Learned that 503B compounding pharmacies are not yet offering tirzepatide (This makes sense because there are 15 China companies applying to produce generic versions of semaglutide in China. China has a different patent system, and Ozempic patents expire there in 2026)
And as you’ve pointed out, Novos production of Sema is exclusive to them (not outsourced). However, they are required to hand over their “recipes” to 503b’s as soon as it hit shortages. Same with Tirz but because of the oversight by the FDA, they cannot just immediately bring it to market. I believe there is some testing involved before they can mass-produce
I love how well informed that you are. I am 5 11 and was 233 6 months ago. Went on Zepbound 2.5/ 5mg and now 3rd box of 7.5 and now 189 which is my goal. So happy for this drug, better eating habits and feel great. Thanks for all you do. Happy Birthday and my daughters wedding tonight. I also owe Brent a bit of an apology. Awhile back, he was saying that ppl should shoot for a TG-to-HDL ratio of 1:1, to minimize cardiovascular risk (TG/HDL is apparently a MUCH better predictor of CVD than total cholesterol/HDL).
I told him hitting that would be pretty unlikely for most ppl. Now I’m not so sure. 🤔
Still think it’s a tough goal to hit for anyone not somewhat blessed genetically… but you can probably get within shouting distance.
1.5:1 now seems quite possible, at least. And, DAMB but this is a great medication! 🤩

PS Almost fell over when my husband saw his doc who is pretty conservative….and he recommended semaglutide siting a study showing a 25% decrease in heart incidents! His father died at 55 from heart failure. He is now 60…and all in. I am so relieved.😊

Do you think there has been a shift regarding injecting?
I remember folks saying how averse they were to using a needle but i rarely hear that anymore.
I'm sure there are those who have a deep fear of injections like i do with flying. Not challenging that, but the casual resistance seem to have been eclipsed by the shortages and how marvelous the drugs are.

There’s a lot of ppl out there with some degree of needle-phobia who probably never EVER saw themselves taking a weekly injectable… but are now doing it no problemo, ‘cuz the benefits are so huge and they’ve gotten used to it. 👌
BUT, there’s also probably some other ppl (like moi) who never had any problem with needles, but after 10 months of sticking themselves are like, “Gee….. would be kinda nice if I didn’t have to get *shanked* on a weekly basis.” 💉😒
Which is why I think orals are the future. It’s not just scalability and ease of production. ✅
But orals *do* lag about a generation behind injectables in efficacy. 😢
So for ppl with a *lot* of weight to lose, I think the future will be (once Orforglipron etc. hit):
- Lose the weight on an injectable. 💉
- Do the maintenance on an oral. 💊
Just kinda makes sense. 🤷♂️
